Bernard G. Pohlman, 77, salesman, golf enthusiast
Bernard G. Pohlman, 77, of Park Hills, a retired sales manager with Penray Co. and a golf enthusiast, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.
He was a graduate of Covington Catholic High School, a member of St. Benedict Church in Covington and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Mr. Pohlman traveled extensively in the eastern United States in his job with Penray, an automotive chemical company.
"He was very friendly, very outgoing and enjoyed talking to all kinds of people, " said Mr. Pohlman's daughter, Mary S. Romer of Greenhills, Ohio.
"He was very caring and a good family man. His grandkids were very important to him."
Mr. Pohlman enjoyed baseball and other sports, but his major hobby was playing golf.
"He was a long-time member of Devou Golf Club and loved the game of golf, " said Mrs. Romer. "After his retirement, he played golf four or five times a week."
When not on the links, one of his favorite pastimes was working crossword puzzles.
Mr. Pohlman's wife, Dorothy Anna Pohlman, died in 1985.
Other survivors include sons, Michael K. Pohlman of Pittsburgh, Richard M. Pohlman of Harrison, Ohio, and David B. Pohlman of West Chester, Ohio; and nine grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedict Church, Covington.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington.
Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright.

Clint "C.C." Bryant, 76, of Fort Wright, died Sunday at Veterans Medical Center in Cincinnati. He was a conductor with CSX Railroad and a member of First Church of God, Latonia. He was a member of Kelly Furnish VFW Post No. 7099 in Covington and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Jones Bryant; daughters, Donna Grote of Fort Wright and Renda Arlinghaus of Independence; brothers, Harold Bryant and Howard Bryant, both of Clear Creek, W.Va., and Richard Bryant of Mount Hope, W.Va.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to First Church of God Building Fund, 524 W. Southern Ave., Covington, Ky. 41015.
William Gullett, 83, of Florence, died Sunday at his home. He was a former truck driver for the Internal Revenue Service and Hertz Rental Car, a member of Hebron Lutheran Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Gullett; sons, William Gullett II of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Paul Gullett of Union; daughters, Audrey Moorefield of Union, Patricia Antonaci of Erlanger, Marilyn Schannen of Cincinnati, Shirley Gullion of Glencoe, Mary Louise Gullion of Sparta and Kathleen Feldhaus of Burlington; stepsons, Harvey Pelley II and John Pelley, both of Burlington, and Dale Davis of Covington; a brother, Richard Gullett of Florence; 17 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hebron Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Entombment will be in Floral Hills Mausoleum, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to Hebron Lutheran Church, 3140 Limaburg Road, Hebron, Ky. 41048. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.
Elbert "Gil" Moore, 82, of Fort Thomas, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired funeral director with A.C. Dobbling & Son Funeral Homes, and a retired Navy veteran and tax consultant. He was a member of Highland Avenue Baptist Tabernacle in Fort Thomas and Fort Thomas Masonic Lodge No. 808 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Colletta Moore; a daughter, Deborah Henry of Fort Thomas; a son, Gary Moore of Fort Thomas; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Highland Avenue Baptist Tabernacle, 1080 Highland Ave., Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.
Ray W. Reffitt, 92, of Erlanger, died Monday at Baptist Village Care Center, Erlanger.
Arrangements are pending at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence.
Alice Norris Sanders, 88, of Florence, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a housekeeper, a school bus driver with Boone County Schools and worked with senior citizens in Walton. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Walton and the choir there, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Sam Sanders Sr., died in 1962.
Survivors include a son, Sammie Sanders Jr. of Florence; a sister, Margaret Roberts of Florence; brothers, John Franklin Norris and Stanford Norris, both of Indianapolis; and a grandson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mary E. Smith Cemetery, Elsmere.
William Mark Vinson Sr., 85, of Newport, died at 9:20 a.m. Sunday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home in Fort Thomas. He was a retired painter and interior decorator. His wife, Barbara Louise Vinson, died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Mark Vinson Jr. of Newport, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Cemetery, Montgomery, Ala. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport.
