Ray Wills Reffitt, 92, millwright, hunter
Ray Wills Reffitt was a millwright helper who loved hunting, training dogs, his family - and doing for himself.
"He was very independent and strong-willed, " said Beth Skidmore of Erlanger, a great niece-in-law. "Even to the very end, he wanted to be as independent as possible."
Mr. Reffitt died Monday at Village Care Center in Erlanger. He was 92.
Mr. Reffitt was a native of Nicholas County and, for a time, helped out his parents on their tobacco farm in Verona.
He was a member of the AFL-CIO and worked years at Interlake Steel in Newport before retiring in the late 1970s.
Mr. Reffitt was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona and also attended Erlanger Baptist Church.
"He wasn't as religious through his life, but at the end of his life he was, " said Mrs. Skidmore.
She said Mr. Reffitt was an excellent marksman and liked home cooking, fishing and "cutting up."
"He loved bird hunting - quail and pheasant, " said Mrs. Skidmore. "He won several trophies with his dogs. He loved to train setters and pointers."
Mr. Reffitt was married
58 years to Kathryn Fae Ryle Reffitt, who died in 1999.
Survivors include a sister, Emogene White of Elsmere, and five generations of nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence. Visitation will from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland cemetery in Fort Mitchell.

Anna H. Farrell, 85, of Dayton, died Tuesday at Northern Kentucky Care and Rehabilitation Center, Highland Heights. She was a nursing aid with Speers Hospital and a member of Dayton Eagles, Oregon Eagles in Gresham, Ore. Her husband, William H. Farrell, died in 1978.
Survivors include sons, Clarence H. Farrell of Dayton, Eugene Farrell of Taylor Mill, Joseph Farrell of Gresham, Ore., and Stanley Farrell of Florence; and grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 333 Guthrie St., Suite 207, Louisville, Ky. 40202.
Lawrence Michael Foltz, 45, of Covington, died Friday at his home. He was a pizza delivery boy for Domino's Pizza.
Survivors include his mother, Frances Foltz of Clearwater, Fla.; sisters, Gayle Scalf of Independence, Karen Ross of Clearwater, Margie Daily of Union and Christine Kaelin of Edgewood; and brothers, Carl Foltz of Covington, and Tony Foltz and Steve Foltz, both of Independence.

Ruth C. Litzler Hauer, of Florence, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a member of St. Paul Church in Florence and a homemaker. Her husband, Louis Hauer, died in 1982.
Survivors include a daughter, Roseanne Kramer of Burlington; a son, Michael L. Hauer of Villa Hills; a sister, Norma Henkenberns of Latonia; and six grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Church, Florence. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Loretta M. Kinsler, 79, of Cincinnati, died Saturday at Manorcare Health Services, Madeira, Ohio. She was a bookkeeper.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Kathy Duvall Schell, 52, of Owenton, died Monday at her home. She was a beautician and a member of First Christian Church, Owenton.
Survivors include a son, Chris Schell of Lexington; brothers, Larry Duvall of Sarasota, Fla., Donald Duvall and Marc Duvall, both of Owenton; and a sister, Dixiana Wilson of Wheatley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, Seminary Street location, Owenton. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Owenton.

Eula Sebastian, 75, of Newport, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, Price Sebastian, died in 2001.
Survivors include a son, Ray Sebastian of Newport; daughters, Bertha Sebastian of Gallatin County and Mary Haskett of Falmouth; a sister, Olga Johnson of Annville; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home, Alexandria. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Nellie C. Stellman, 88, formerly of Covington, died Saturday at St. Anthony Memoria l Health Center, Michigan City, Ind. She was a homemaker.
Her first husband, Irvin C. Zitt, and her second husband, William H. Stellman, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Irvin C. Zitt III of Westville, Ind., and Lawrence Zitt of The Pines, Ind.; a daughter, Pearl Jean Selke of Michigan City; a sister, Rosella Adkins of Ludlow; eight grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 10 a.m. Thursday at Highland cemetery Chapel, Fort Mitchell.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

William Mark Vinson Sr., 85, of Newport, died at 9:20 a.m. Sunday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home in Fort Thomas.
He was a retired painter and interior decorator. His wife, Barbara Louise Vinson, died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Mark Vinson Jr. of Newport, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Cemetery, Montgomery, Ala.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport.
