Margaret Klare, avid gardener
Margaret H. Lundrigan Klare was first and foremost a homemaker, as evidenced by her membership in Homemakers of Fort Thomas and the St. Thomas and Newport Central Catholic Mothers Clubs.
"She was wonderful, " said her daughter, Patricia Manegold of Ross, Ohio. "Mother and Daddy had a rough life financially, but raised us with the gift of faith."
Mrs. Klare, of Fort Thomas, died Monday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home. She was 85.
Mrs. Klare was a young girl when her mother died and her father sent her and two of her three brothers to live at the Diocesan Catholic Children's Home in Fort Mitchell.
Her grandfather did that, Mane gold said, to prevent the siblings from being separated.
She said her mother and two uncles were well-treated at the children's home, that her mother's youngest brother was reared by an aunt and that all four children stayed in touch with each other and their father.
Before marrying in 1936, Mrs. Klare worked a couple of years as a cook and maid for a wealthy Park Hills couple.
"They gave her a big, nice wed ding, " Manegold said.
Mrs. Klare was a member of the 55 Club at St. Thomas Church in Fort Thomas.
She also was an avid gardener and a member of the Fort Thomas Garden Club.
"She just loved her flowers and her yard, " said Manegold. "One time she won an award for having the prettiest garden in Fort Thom as."
Manegold said her mother also loved her Irish heritage.
"We always drank green beer on St. Patrick's Day and had corned beef and cabbage."
Mrs. Klare's husband, John W. Klare, died in 1989.
Other survivors are sons, Jeff Klare of Union, Jerry Klare of Edgewood, Joe Klare of Fort Thom as and John Klare of Cincinnati; a brother, Edward Lundrigan of Men tor; 24 grandchildren and 21 great- grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Church.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

Donna Lou Abbott, 93, of Edgewood, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday at Brighton Gardens, Edgewood.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, Norman C. Abbott, died in 1974.
Survivors include a son, James R. Abbott of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Norma Swecker of Edgewood; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Green Hills Cemetery, Etowah, Tenn. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bordwine Funeral Home, Etowah.

John Ray Abney, 45, of Covington, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
He was a mechanic for Bill's Transmission Service, Independence.
Survivors include sons, Robbie Godawa of Latonia and Aaron Godawa of Russell Springs; a daughter, Kelly Newby of Russell Springs; his parents, Robert and Betty Godawa of Covington; brothers, Donald Godawa and Bobby Godawa, both of Latonia; sisters, Elvaleena Godawa, Lajeannia Godawa and Pauluna Godawa, all of Latonia; maternal grandmother, Elva Mitchell of Covington; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Jack P. Abraham, 81, of Bellevue, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a former salesman for General Electric Supply, Cincinnati, and a member of Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue. He was a member of Newport Catholic Boosters Club and a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Pickelman Abraham; a son, John Abraham of Newport; daughters, Carol Christopher of Union and Susan Wald of Wilder; sisters, Ethel Bockhold of Norwood, Ohio, and Lois Glindmeyer of Florence; and six grandchildren.

Dorothy G. Adams, 83, of Warsaw, died Tuesday at Gallatin Health Care Center, Warsaw.
She was a homemaker. Her husband, Clifford John Adams, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Dan Carmichael of Sparta; a sister, Barb Werdman of Nicholasville; a brother, Charles Yancey of Fort Mitchell; a sister, Helen Schulte of Bellevue; four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
Mrs. Adams bequeathed her body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Dennis E. Boggess, 61, of Indianapolis, formerly of Walton, died at 4:56 p.m. Monday at Community South Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was an employee of Federal Express and a Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include sons, Zack Boggess of Walton and Todd Boggess of Crittenden; daughters, Tosha Boggess of Crittenden and Elisha Boggess of Burlington; his father, Ernest Boggess of Nitro, W.Va.; a brother, Robert Boggess of Nitro; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Burlington Cemetery.
Marty Carr, 45, of Corinth, died Monday in Williamstown.
He was a construction worker.
Survivors include a daughter, Megan Carr of Middletown, Ohio; sons, Ryan Carr and Jason Carr, both of Middletown; his father, Lynn Carr of Corinth; a brother, Larry M. Carr of Corinth; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Rogers-McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth. Visitation begins there at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Millard Cox, 54, of Dayton, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a self-employed dry waller. His wife, Darlene Cox, preceded him in death.

Cox of Bronson, Fla., and Richard Cox of Williamsburg, Ohio; brothers, Clyde Cox of Beattyville, Joseph Cox of Cincinnati and William Cox of Goshen, Ohio; sisters, Barbara Harrington of Bright, Ind., and Sheila Ross of Cincinnati; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Gene K. "Scoby" Feeback, 73, of Cynthiana, died Monday at his home.
He was a retired machinist with Cleveland Twist Drill Co.
Survivors include brothers, Charles Feeback Jr. of Millersburg, Kent Feeback of Lexington and Donald Feeback of Wilmore; and a sister, Betty Snapp of Carlisle.

Audrey May Forgiel, the daughter of Simon and Mary Forgiel of Covington, was stillborn Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati.
Other survivors include grandparents, Frank Forgiel of Flintshire, England, and Marty and Sheila Zalla of Edgewood.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Hayes; a son, Robert W. Williams of Dayton; her mother, Edna Faye DeBorde of Cincinnati; half-brothers, Craig Shouse of Union and Kelly Shouse of Hebron; and half-sisters, Yvonne Byrd of Warsaw and Linda Merdith of Burlington.

She was a former sales clerk for Pogue's Department Store and Gidding-Jenny. Her husband, William Iseral, died in 1999.

He was a disabled Navy veteran.

George Eugene Nagel, 88, of Southgate, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
His wife, Vera Nagel, preceded him in death.
