Mabel Cox, devoted to family, business
Mabel E. Parton Cox, 94, of Ludlow, a telephone operator and owner of a flooring company with her husband, died Wednesday at Rosedale Manor in Latonia.
Mrs. Cox worked 35 years as a telephone operator for Cincinnati Bell Telephone Co.
She and her husband, Clifford Cox, owned Northern Kentucky Flooring in Ludlow.
The couple had been married
61 years when he died in 1992.
Mrs. Cox was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ludlow.
"Her whole life revolved around my daddy, " said Mrs. Cox's daughter, Grace E. Jones of Crestview Hills. "He was a sweetheart, easy-going and great to get along with.
"Her world was her family. She was especially fond of her grandchildren. She was outgoing and had a nice wit about her."
Other survivors include a daughter, Jean Hale of Lexington, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home in Ludlow.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Michael William Barber, 49, of Burlington, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a former machinist.
Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Barber and Sarah Barber, both of Burlington; mother, Betty Vera Collins of Burlington; a brother, Dave Barber of Burlington.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th Street, Covington, Ky. 41014.
Robert H. Bell Jr., 79, of Goshen, Ohio, died at 5:29 a.m. Monday at Bethesda Hospital North, Cincinnati. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. His wife, Yvonne Bell, died March 20.
Survivors include sons, Richard Bell of Chicago, Peter Shworles of Lakeland, Fla., Shaun Bell of Fort Wayne, Ind.; daughters, Diana Johnson of Morehead, Angelique Walters of Cambridge, Wis., Simone Stoltz of Florida and Andrea Gordon of Fort Wayne; brothers, Erdman Bell of Missouri and Delbert Bell of Chicago; and sisters, Lavada Ruth Buffaloe of Madison, Ala., Evelyn Masteron of Florence, Betty Bell of Falmouth and Faye Wells of Ohio.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Friday. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati.
Terry Dale Blades, 39, of Independence, died Sunday on Fowler Creek Road, just north of Pelly Road in Kenton County, of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. He was a computer technician with PC On Call and volunteered with the Children's Law Center in Covington. A son, Detrek Allen Andrew Michael David Blades, died in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Evelyn Rich Blades; daughters, Kristina Blades of Independence, Kathy Rich of Frankfort and Doral Clark of Florence; a son, Gerald Brookover of Latonia; a sister, Debbie Bow of Cincinnati; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Verona. Memorials are suggested to Children's Law Center, 104 E. Seventh St., Covington, Ky. 41011.
Willard R. Seabolt, 79, of California, died at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday at his daughter's home in California.
He was a retired crane operator for Carlisle Construction Co. and a member of Engineers Union Local No. 18.
He was an honorary member of Campbell County Water Rescue, and an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Ruth Bush Seabolt, died in 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Pape of California; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alexandria Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
Evelyn Spigles, 74, of Berry, died Tuesday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana.
She was a homemaker and a member of Berry United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Spigles Jr.; a son, Bobby Mosley Spigles of Berry; daughters, Cheryl Lane Clifford of Frankfort, Margaret Lee Stanfield of Bourbon County, Kathy McKee of Cynthiana, Pamela Joyce Earle of Berry and Patricia Ann Fox of Lee County; sisters, Mary Etta LeMay of Cynthiana and Addie Lee Green of Paris; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.

Lloyd "Wayne" Vance, 59, of Bellevue, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
He was a forklift operator at Dennert Distributing Co., Cincinnati.
Survivors include daughters, Kim Hill and Lillian Vance, both of Dayton; sons, Roger Vance and Tony Vance, both of Cincinnati; his mother, Dorothy Vance of Newport; sisters, Shirley Heck of Alexandria, Margaret Jump of Williamstown, Joanie Roberts of Taylor Mill, Joyce Toedt and Carol Vance, both of Escondido, Calif., and Donna Vance of Falmouth; a brother, Bobby Vance of Covington; and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Church, Bellevue.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.
Carlo Frank Turner, 70, of Kingsport, Tenn., formerly of Covington, died at 8:52 p.m. Sunday at Johnson City Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, Tenn.
He was a self-employed painter and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his son, Scott Turner of Covington; a daughter, Star Turner of Cincinnati; a sister, Ruth Turner of Covington; and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
