Nicholas Forte never married

He was also an amateur magician and had a room in his house filled with magic tricks and material, some of it dating back to his days in the Army. He was a lifetime member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
When he retired, he hoped to spend his time traveling, but instead wound up caring for his sister, Dean Forte, after she developed Alzheimer's Disease, Crawford said. After she died about five years ago, Mr. Forte himself was stricken with the malady.
