Louise Mann offered a hand to seniors
Louise Richmond Mann lived to be 93 years, six months and four days old - long enough to outlive her parents, husband and one of her two sons.
She was born Feb. 23, 1909, in Tennessee, but she didn't stay there.
She lived in Williamstown as a young woman, where she met her husband, Harry Mann.
They married
and moved to New York City in the early 1950s.
Ms. Mann found a job there with Manufacturer's Hanover Trust Bank.
She worked there for about 20 years, eventually becoming assistant supervisor of the bond department.
After she retired from the bank, she and her husband moved to Cincinnati.
The couple lived in an apartment building between Race and Vine streets.
Her husband died in October 1976.
Ms. Mann volunteered for nine years at the Butterfield Senior Center in Cincinnati.
Then she moved back to Northern Kentucky, staying in a Christian center in Florence, said her son, Joseph L. Ashcraft of Williamstown.
She spent the last years of her life in Owenton Manor, where she stayed active and continued to feed herself until the last six or eight months of her life.
She kept track of her relatives and talked about them with Ashcraft, which he said he would miss.
Ms. Mann died Monday at Owenton Manor.
She was a member of Dry Ridge Baptist Church. A son, Donald Ashcraft, preceded her in death.
Other survivors include five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Elliston-St.
Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
John Henry Barbour, 79, of Owenton, died Sunday at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
He was a farmer, a retired school bus driver and a security guard with Elk Lake Resort.
He was a member of Long Ridge Baptist Church, Owenton.
Survivors include his wife, Frances "Snooks" Willenborg; daughters, Jeannie Jones of Frankfort and Mickey Miller of Owenton; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, Main Street, Owenton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Monterey Masonic Cemetery.

Layne David Maxwell, son of Ricky and Tori Maxwell of Williamstown, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
Other survivors include a brother, Ethan Daniel Maxwell of Williamstown; a sister, Elizabeth Anne Maxwell of Williamstown; grandparents, Jack and Ann Maxwell of Morning View, David Lonaker of Williamstown and Suzann Pennington of Warsaw; and great-grandmother, Lucy Marie Pennington of Williamstown.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Crittenden Cemetery. Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden, is handling arrangements.
Wilford A. McElheney, 88, of Florence, formerly of Covington and Alvin, W.Va., died Tuesday at Woodcrest Manor in Elsmere.
He was an auto mechanic at Kenmont Dodge, and a member of Alvin Methodist Church in Alvin.
He was a member of Alexandria Masonic Lodge #152, and Indra Consistory Scottish Rite.
A son, Donald McElheney, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred White McElheney of Florence; sons, William McElheney of Lakeside Park, Richard McElheney of Hebron; brother, John O'Conner of Barberton, Ohio; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home in Florence.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.

Lena E. Blevins Thomas, 83, of Burlington, died at 1:35 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
She was a homemaker and a member of Newport Church of God.
Survivors include daughters, Claudia Osborne of Florence and Carole Sallee of Burlington; a son, Tom Thomas of Florence; a sister, Lola Schudda of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Baltimore Pike Cemetery, Cincinnati.
Julia Georgiana Langenbahn Wagner, 86, of Newport, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue.
She was active with the Campbell Lodge Guild, a volunteer with Northern Kentucky University and a member of Campbell County Homemakers and Ryland Lakes Country Club.
Her husband, George "Bud" H. Wagner, died in 1995.
Survivors include sons, James P. Wagner of Alexandria and George H. Wagner Jr. of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church, Bellevue.
Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas.

John W. Winkler, 79, of Taylor Mill, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Alvina A. Winstel, 91, of Crestview Hills, died at 4:10 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.
She was a bookkeeper with Fogarty Electric Co. and a member of Mary Queen of Heaven Church, Erlanger.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Winstel of Crestview Hills; sons, John P. Winstel of Crestview Hills, William H. Winstel of Milford, Ohio, and Edward F. Winstel of West Chester, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
