Sister Concetta Robinson, ministered for 57 years
It was clear to those who knew her that Sister Concetta Robinson, O.S.B., was a natural as a nun.
"She always had a calling to be a nun. At least, the family felt like she did, " said her sister, Sister Mary Ellen Robinson of Cincinnati.
Sister Concetta, who died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood, was born Elizabeth Robinson on July 27, 1917.
She entered St. Walburg Monastery in Villa Hills on March 24, 1935, at age 18.
She joined the Benedictine order, which she loved, because she was taught by Benedictines at Holy Cross School in Latonia.
Her sister, on the other hand, entered the St. Joseph's order.
They inherited their desire for community service from their father, who was an officer with the Covington Police Department, Sister Mary Ellen said.
Sister Concetta's active ministry spanned 57 years - 31 in Kentucky and 25 in LaJunta, Colo.
She taught primary students at St. Benedict's in Covington, Holy Cross in Latonia, St. Joseph's in Crescent Springs, the former St. John's Orphanage and at St. Ann's in Manchester.
In her later years, she cared for sick nuns in the convent infirmary, spending nights comforting and encouraging them, her sister said.
Her dedication to people made her beautiful in life, her sister said, and her closeness to God made her beautiful in death.
Other survivors include brothers, Herbert Becker of Nancy, Charles Robinson of Oakland Park, Fla., and Thomas Robinson of Latonia.
Mass of Christian burial is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Walburg Monastery Chapel, Villa Hills.
Vigil services will be at 7:30 tonight in the chapel. Burial is in St. Walburg Monastery Cemetery.

Ronald G. Aytes, 71, of Ludlow, died Thursday at his residence.
He was a self-employed roofer.
Survivors include daughters, Susan McCarthy of Florence, Cindy Simpson of Florence; brothers, Larry Aytes of Ludlow, Michael Aytes of Villa Hills; sisters, Sue Turner of Ludlow, Wanda Leach of Dayton, Ohio.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery in Erlanger.

Judy Buckhart, 33, of Highland Heights, died of cancer Wednesday at Northern Kentucky Care and Rehabilitation Center in Highland Heights.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Buckhart; sons, Mathew Wilson of Dayton and Robert Buckhart Jr. of Erlanger; daughters, Glenda Wilson of Dayton, Erika Buckhart of Newport, Chelsey Buckhart of Taylor Mill, Britney Collins of Whitesburg and Jessica Maham of Walton; her mother, Mary Collins of Dayton; brothers, Paul Collins of Crittenden, Orville Lewallen and Walter Lewallen, both of Dayton; sisters, Jean Sebastian and Shirley O'Toole, both of Cincinnati, Ruth Grimes of Maysville, Tenn., Marian Spaulding of Bright, Ind., Linda Maham of Walton, Diane Collins and Sandy Collins, both of Newport, Wanda Hurst of Lafollette, Tenn., Sue Wildebore and Cheryl Wilkening, both of Dayton; a stepbrother, Carmen Lewallen of Southgate; and stepsisters, Dawn Redleaf of Newport, Stephanie Lewallen of Dayton and Reba Lyons of Bellevue.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Bill Burke, 66, of Erlanger, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.
Arrangements are pending at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington.
James Walter Bush, 48, of Erlanger, died Wednesday at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.
He was a field auditor with the state of Kentucky and a member of the Automobile License Plate Club of America.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Kennedy Bush; a son, James Bradley Bush of Erlanger; a daughter, Sara Kennedy Bush of Erlanger; his mother, Betty K. Bush of Erlanger; and sisters, Sally Schulte of Erlanger and Susan Moore of Dallas.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger.
Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
Gregory Thomas Christian, 53, of Florence, died Tuesday at his home. He was a baggage handler at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a son, Greg T. Christian II of Florence; a daughter, Michelle Morrison of Corinth; his mother, Mabel Christian of Covington; sisters, Debbie Hall of Florence and Donna Warren of Laurel, Md.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington.
Visitation will begin there at noon Monday.
Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
Mary J. Dolwick, 77, of Constance, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of Constance Christian Church. Her husband, Leroy L. Dolwick, died in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Leroy "Pee Wee" Dolwick of Constance; a daughter, Karen Bemerer of Cincinnati; a brother, George Horton of Ludlow; sisters, Louise Britnell of Florence, Lil Parrott of Bromley and Pat Murphy of Hustonville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Lonnie May Jr., 79, of Crittenden, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a carpenter and a member of Crittenden Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Louise Taylor May; a son, Lonnie May III of Crittenden; a sister, Mary K. Stamper of West Chester, Ohio; and two granddaughters.

Ann Piercy, 84, of Waco, Texas, formerly of Northern Kentucky, died Wednesday at her home.
