A. Lynn Chardon, 66, pioneer in management
A. Lynn Chardon, 66, of Burlington, the first female building manager in the city of Cincinnati, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West.
Mrs. Chardon managed the Enquirer Building in the 1960s.
"She was a pioneer, " said her granddaughter, Erin Waltz of Florence.
Mrs. Chardon later moved to Florida and operated several businesses in the Melbourne, Fla., area. She ran a commercial cleaning service, a children's clothing store and an antique shop.
"She was really intelligent and very outgoing, " said Mrs. Waltz. "She liked to stay active."
Mrs. Chardon was an animal lover and made a point to care for stray cats.
Other survivors include a daughter, Linda Carter of Florence; a son, Jai Schellhammer of Seattle, Wash., four sisters, Ruby Corwin, Loretta Rowsh and Peggy Leland, all of Las Vegas, Nev., and Shelby Davis of Totz, Ky.; four brothers, Jim Holland of Lynch, E.J. Holland and John Holland, both of Totz, and Carl "Bo" Holland, of Hamilton, Ohio; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled at noon Saturday at the Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington.

Mary Ella Baker, 94, of Independence, died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday at Woodcrest Manor, Erlanger.

Opal Caldwell, 86, of Falmouth, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. Arrangements are pending at Peoples Funeral Home in Falmouth.
Margaret Lee Cook, 85, of Erlanger, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Erlanger Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Rosa Lee Cook of Dayton, Ohio, and Sylvia Beschman of Cincinnati; a son, Lewis Edison Cook Jr. of Maysville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Entombment will be in Highland Mausoleum, Fort Mitchell. Grace Brewer Crouch, 95, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Twin Towers, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker. A son, Earl Crouch, died in 1965.
Survivors include a son, Charles Taylor of Cincinnati; daughters, Corine Gibson of Latonia and Shirley McGinnis of Cincinnati; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Janice Lynn Dees, 60, of Burlington, died Thursday at her home. She was a corporate nurse with International Paper and a member of Fellowship of Believers Church, Florence.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Dees; sons, Donald Dees of Clarkstown, Mich., Robert Dees of Union and David Dees of Conneaut, Ohio; sisters, Gwen Courts of Mount Orab, Ohio, and Susan Fortner of Georgetown, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation will be at Southwest Ohio Crematory, Milford, Ohio.
Beatrice Grieme, 88, of Park Hills, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Hawley Grieme, died in 1970.
Survivors include a son, Richard Grieme of Taylor Mill; and a grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sts. Boniface and James Church, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Leo Hammons Sr., 72, of Bromley, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired line supervisor with Ford Motor Co., Cincinnati, and a member of First Baptist Church, Ludlow. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 203 in Latonia, Ralph Fulton VFW Post No. 6423 in Elsmere, the United Auto Workers, Ludlow Spring Hobo Club and the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. His wife, Lena Hammons, died in 1994.
Survivors include sons, Daryl Hammons of Covington, Marc Hammons of Dry Ridge, Joey Hammons of Hebron and Leo Hammons Jr. of Ludlow; a stepson, Herschel Barton of Corbin; brothers, Elmer Hammons of Latonia, Harold Hammons of Manchester, Ohio, Eugene Hammons of Crestview Hills, Charles Hammons of Ludlow and Edwin Hammons of Florence; sisters, Nancy Hammons of Waco, Texas, and Martha Daly of Taylor Mill; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will begin there at 3 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in the Barton Family Cemetery, Corbin. Memorials are suggested to American Legion Post No. 203, 38th and Winston, Covington, Ky. 41015.

E. Howard Lindholz Sr., 85, of Wilmington, Ohio, died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday at his home. He was a retired machinist with LeBlond/Makino, and a member of Robert Burns Masonic Lodge No. 163 in Newport, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Syrian Shrine. His wife, Mary Lou Braun Lindholz, died in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Earl H. Lindholz Jr. of Cincinnati; daughters, Grace Anne Yung of Latonia and Karen Standridge of Wilmington; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 8 tonight at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, Wilmington. Mr. Lindholz bequeathed his body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Fredrick "Fritz" Meirose, 83, of Fort Wright, died at 6:40 a.m. June 7 at Woodcrest Manor, Erlanger.
He was a retired employee of Kahn's, Cincinnati and an Army veteran of World War II. His first wife, Elizabeth Herzog Meirose, died in 1975. Survivors include his wife, Mary Gramke Meirose; a son, Dan Meirose of Ludlow; a stepdaughter, Cynthia Collins of Fort Wright; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Saturday at Mother of God Church, Covington. Burial will be in Spring Grove Ceme tery, Cincinnati. Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere, is handling arrangements. Robert "Gary" Richardson, 53, of Walton, died June 6 at his home. He was a maintenance worker with Floral Hardware and G&H; Enterprises, and a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include a son, Jeremy Richardson of Wilmington, Ohio; a daughter, Sophia Baumgartner of Dry Ridge; his father and stepmother, Robert and Jean Richardson of Russell Springs; a brother, Robin Richardson of Albany, Ohio; and a grandson.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Florence Baptist Church. Burial was in Russell Springs. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is handling local arrangements.
Patsy Young, 83, of Florence, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired truck driver with Werner Trucking Co. and an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Beulah Mae Young, died in 1991.
Survivors include grandchildren, Sherry Mullikin of Burlington and Tim Young of Florence; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.
