Palmer Meade, took care of family
Palmer Meade, 76, of Taylor Mill, a dairy employee who was "soft-spoken and hard-working, " died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence.
Mr. Meade worked for several dairies, including Meyer Dairy in the Cincinnati suburb of Arlington Heights.
After retire ment from the dairy industry, Mr. Meade worked several years as a janitor at Taylor Mill Elementary School.
He enjoyed fishing, working in the yard and carpentry.
Mr. Meade was in the Army during World War II and served in Germany.
He had 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
"He was a busy guy, working hard and taking care of his family, " said Mr. Meade's daughter, Kimberley Whitney of the Cincinnati neighborhood of Mount Washington.
"He made us laugh and took us on vacation and was a great dad. He was very family-oriented and loved his family very much. He was quiet, gentle, soft-spoken and hard-working.
"If one person took care of his family, it was him."
Mr. Meade was married
54 years to Esther Beckman Meade, who survives him.
Other survivors include sons, Gerald Meade of Taylor Mill, and Michael Meade of Union; daughters, Theresa Daly of Dry Ridge, Diane Specht of Independence, Denise Frey of Hebron, Brenda Beekman of Latonia, and Laurena Lawson of Florence; a brother, Wil liam Meade of Fairborn, Ohio; and sisters, Imogene Saylor of Reseca, Ga., and Georgia Phillips of Neon, Ky.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.
Graves Carroll, 95, of Sadieville, died Sunday at his home. He was a farmer and a member of Connersville Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Ellen Fields Carroll; sons, Charles Lee Carroll and Oliver B. Carroll, both of Harrison County, daughters, Mary Margaret Downing of Corbin, Bettye J. Marshall of Harrison County, and Beverly C. Miller of Muncie, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana. Julia Courtney Ford, 80, of Turners Station, died Friday at Meadowview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Louisville. She was a homemaker and a member of English Christian Church. She was also a Sunday school teacher and a treasurer for Happy Hills Christian Camp. Her husband, Orvie Woodrow Ford, died in 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Ford Lewis of Turners Station; a brother, T.C. Courtney of Kansas City; a sister, Allen Kinman of Louisville; and a grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at English Christian Church. Burial will be in Port Royal Cemetery. Martha Godsey, 86, of Hebron, died Sunday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence.

Carol June Hendrix Hild, 56, of Fort Wright, died at 7:10 p.m. Saturday at her home. She was owner of Mount Adams Bookstore/Cafe in Cincinnati, a member of Holy Cross Immaculata Church in Cincinnati, and the Mount Adams Business Guild.
Survivors include her husband, Donald J. Hild; sons, Michael Hild of Richmond, Va., and Benjamin Hild of Fort Wright; her parents, Russell V. and Mary June Butler Hendrix of Michigan; sisters, Ruscella Riley of Stevensville, Mich., and JoAnne Hendrix of Cloma, Mich.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Cross Immaculata Church, Cincinnati. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Peter L. Hugenberg, 52, of Edgewood, died Thursday at his home.
He was an accountant with the Internal Revenue Service, Cincinnati, and a member of St. Pius X Church, Edgewood.

The Rev. Paul C. Keeling, 82, formerly of Covington, died at 7:22 a.m. Saturday in Memphis. He was a pastor with churches in Grant County, Indianapolis and Memphis.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Keeling; sons, Paul C. Keeling Jr. and Philip Keeling, both of Memphis; and grandchildren.

Dorothy McHugh, 76, of Union, died Sunday at her home.

William "Frank" Miles, 62, of Fairfield, Ohio, formerly of Covington, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Cincinnati. He was a credit adjustor with Frank Miles & Associates, a member of Moose Lodge No. 36 and a Coast Guard veteran. He was a little league baseball manager and was the announcer for New Miami school sports.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Miles; sons, Ronnie Johnson of Ponchatoula, La., Michael Miles of Cincinnati, Matthew Miles of Covington, and Kenneth Miles of Indiana; daughters, Valerie Rodrigues of Miami, Denise Johnson of Mentor, Ohio, Kellie Johnson of Carthage, Mo., and Amy Baker of Hamilton, Ohio; his mother, Lula Miles of Bethel, Ohio; a brother, Bob Miles of Fort Wright; a sister, Stella Hiltbrand of Batavia, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren.

Walter Musnicky, 78, of Erlanger, died at 2:14 a.m. Saturday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. He was a plant operator with Newport, R.I. Hospital and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Musnicky; sons, Joseph Musnicky of Florence, Frank Musnicky of California, and Walter Musnicky Jr. of Newport, R.I.; daughters, Bonnie J. Ames of Newport, R.I., and Michelle Banzhas of Erlanger; a brother, Steve Musnicky of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Cremation will be at Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati. Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere, is handling arrangements.
Eldon Trent Pickett, 74, of Aurora, Ind., formerly of Covington, died June 8 at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Dinah Pickett; sons, Rodney Pickett and Jeffrey Pickett, both of Aurora, and David Pickett of Rising Sun, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

Howard Robert Reilly, 53, of Germantown, formerly of Newport, died at 12:04 a.m. Sunday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. He was disabled.
Survivors include his wife, Leoma Reilly; sons, Robby Reilly Jr. of Newport, Michael Reilly of Falmouth, and Jeffrey Reilly of Germantown; a daughter, Karen Allphin of Mason County; brothers, Pete Reilly of Ohio, and Tommy Reilly of Butler; a sister, Caroline Said of BUtler; and 10 grandchildren.

Raymond R. Renaker Jr., 74, of Fort Wright, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
He was a manager with Cincinnati Bell, and a member of Fort Thomas Lodge No. 808 F&AM, Cincinnati Scottish Rite, Caledonian Society, Silver Wings Fraternity, Sons and Daughters of the Pioneer Rivermen, Paddlewheel Steamboatin Society of America, Better Breathers Club of Northern Kentucky and Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Renaker; sons, Charles Klaber of Frankfort, and Thomas Klaber of Cleveland; a daughter, Kathy Renaker of Austin, Texas; sisters, Mary Minnette Lange of Park Hills, and Ann Schulte of Edge wood; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John E. "Jack" Strady, 74, of Covington, died at 4:01 p.m. Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.
He was a retired vice president of Holland Roofing Co., Burlington, a former president of Zero Roofing Co. and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. Strady; sons, Steven Michael Strady of Fort Mitchell, and David John Strady of Covington; daughters, Deborah L. Atkinson of Saxapahaw, N.C., and Kelly Jo Linneman of Burlington; a sister, Mary Singer of Sarasota, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

Abigail Jane Thiemann, 1 day, the daughter of Jeff and Jennifer Smarr Thiemann of Hebron, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Esther E. Trautwein, 92, of Fort Thomas, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.
She was a retired teacher with Holmes High School in Covington and Beechwood High School, Fort Mitchell, and was a member of Highland United Methodist Church, Fort Thomas.
She was a leader with the Caravan Youth Team, chairwoman of her church's organ committee and an accomplished vocalist and pianist. Her husband, George C. Trautwein, died in 1973.
Survivors include a sister, Alice Edelmaier Taglauer of Maitland, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland United Methodist Church, Fort Thomas.
Visitation will begin there at noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
