Gertrude Butson
Gertrude A. “Nick” Butson, age 91 of Lake Crystal Interment is in Garden City born December 12, 1911 in Rapidan Township, Blue Earth Co. to Frank and Nellie J. (Terry) Nickerson. She graduated from Garden City High School and the Mankato Beauty School. She was united in marriage to H. Rodney Butson on August 7, 1934 in Garden City. She was a homemaker and member of Garden City Christian Church. She enjoyed piano playing, gardening, birdwatching, and bingo. For the last three years, she had been residing at Country Neighbors in Lake Crystal.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacalyn “Jackie” Jones and her husband, David of rural Lake Crystal, Beverly Thurston and her husband, Keith of Madelia; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at the Hillcrest Health Care Center. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Ulm. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Landkamer-Johnson-Boman Funeral Home, with an evening prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Calvary died Monday, November 24, 2003 at the St. Peter Health Care Center, St. Peter.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church, Mankato with Rev. John Michel officiating. Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at church on Saturday. If so desired memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, Grace Baptist Church or an organization of the donor’s choice.
She was died in April of 1997. Irma was a secretary at Washington Elementary School for 25 years retiring in 1985. She did volunteer work at the Thrift Shop and Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Hospital. She enjoyed reading, walking, knitting, home bible study, letter writing and traveling to Detroit, MI. Mrs. Anderson’s favorite places were the Bible Conferences at Okoboji, IA and her time spent in Tucson, AZ . She was one of seven charter members of Grace Baptist Church, where she has been a member for 48 years.
Irma sang many times on the “I Believe in Miracles” television program.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Stippel of St. Peter, Peggy Ratze and her husband, Bob of Novi, MI; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verna Lorentz of Mankato, Hazel Finkle of CA; one brother, Cecil Gates and his wife, Beverly of Mankato; many nephews and nieces.
Irma was preceded in died Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at his home.
Interment at a later date. Visitation on Friday from 4-8 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services on Saturday.
John was death by his father, Henry and a brother, James.
Eleanor D. Palmer
Eleanor D. Palmer, 81, of Mankato, Entombment is at Woodland Hills Mausoleum. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and one hour before services Sunday at the church.
Irma M. Seys
Irma M. Seys, age 89, of Mankato cemetery. Visitation on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Clair, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Irma was died June 29, 2001. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother for her family. Irma was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of St. Clair and had a deep faith in her church. She enjoyed her family, gardening, baking, canning, and praying the Rosary.
She is survived by eight sons, Raymond Seys, Jim Seys, Rick (Patsy) Seys, Roger (Susan) Seys, Randy (Laurie) Seys, all of Mankato, Stan (Jan) Seys, of Waseca, Dennis (Catherine) Seys of St. Clair, Paul (Nancy) Seys of Janesville; four daughters, Margie (Mike) Hoppe of St. Clair, Susan (Louis) Schweim of Pemberton, Judy (David) Farm of LeCenter, Joyce (Mark) Gens of Mankato; 27 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Maurice (Charlotte) Jongbloedt of New Richland, Albert (Lila) Jongbloedt of Janesville; a sister, Selma (David) Lynch of Pemberton; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded in passed away Saturday, November 13th, 2004 in Arizona where she lived for the last 30 years.
Graveside services will be held Monday, November 22, 2004 at Calvary born August, 1902 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to Edward and Della Alexander. Ida lived in North Mankato with her husband Leo Bohrer, a local businessman, until his died Thursday, December 02, 2004 at his home following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2004 at Grace Baptist Church in Mankato with Rev. John Michel, officiating. born February 10, 1976 in St. Peter, MN to Richard and Beverly (Kruse) Reichel. He lived in Kasota, MN and Klemme, IA in his pre-school years. He then lived in North Mankato and attended Roosevelt Elementary and West High School until graduation in 1995. He graduated in 1997 from South Central Technical College with three degrees as a machinist and in tool - and - die. He worked for MICO, Inc. from 1994 – 2000. Shawn loved art and three - wheeling with the Prairie Wind Riders.
He is survived by his father and mother; his two grandmothers, Charlotte Reichel and Margaret Kruse of North Mankato; two half-brothers, Richard and Robert of Mankato; two half-sisters, Ronda of LeHillier and Rebecca of Mesa, AZ; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in died Thursday evening, December 2, 2004 at his home with his family present. Roman, a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, will be remembered by family and friends as a kind, gentle and generous man.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato, with Rev. Ted Hottinger, S.J. officiating. Burial will be in Calvary born in St. Clair on July 12, 1912 to Conrad and Magdalena (Drummer) Haefner. On September 25, 1936 Roman was united in marriage to Angeline Frederick at All Saints Catholic Church, Madison Lake. He was employed by the School Sisters of Notre Dame for 46 years, retiring at the age of 69. Roman was a life-long member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, music, sports and playing cards with members of his family.
Roman is survived by his four children, a daughter, Lois Prange and her husband Du Wayne of Faribault; three sons, Leon Haefner of Northfield, Dean Haefner and Dale Haefner both of Mankato; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marcella Thissen of Mankato, Loretta “Bobbie” Frederick of North Mankato, Lucille Becker and her husband, Ken of San Andreas, CA, Lorraine “Sparky” Sleeper and her husband, Ralph of Mankato; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Frederick of Waseca, Valeria Frederick of Madison Lake, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roman was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline, two brothers and two sisters.
