William J. Wersal Jr.
William J. “Bill” Wersal, Jr., age 67, of Mankato, born on August 15, 1937 in Springfield. He was the son of William J. Sr. and Mary (Roiger) Wersal. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Homan on May 8, 1958 in Fairfax. They later divorced. Over the years, Bill was employed in grain elevator construction, was a mechanic, carpenter, and janitorial worker. He also worked in drainage tiling, garden tilling, and owned a gas station and sports shop. Bill was a member of A.A., the Turtle Club, Snowmobile Club, Elk’s Club, and an active church member. He enjoyed playing the concertina, doing carpentry, hunting and fishing, playing cards, fossil hunting, was an avid collector and a snipe hunting guide. Bill was a “Jack of All Trades” and a loving father and grandfather who built a reputation for helping any and all.
Bill is survived by six children, Debbie Kallem of Kalispell, MT, Kevin (Angie) Wersal of Glasgow, MT, Denise (Earl) Carson of Glasgow, MT, Lori Jenson of LeCenter, Brenda (Gary) Wick of LeCenter, and Jodi Wersal of Mankato; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Leonard (Dorothy) Wersal of Owatonna, Harold (Mary) Wersal of Morgan; five sisters, Irene Groebner of New Ulm, Evelyn (Ray) Kastner of Sanborn, Lucille (Lloyd) Johnson of Morgan, MaryAnn (Leo) Veit of New Ulm, and Donna Weisensel of Springfield; also many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in died January 21, 2005 at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home and will continue 1 hour before services at the chapel. Inurnment will be private at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Ray was married Madeline Youell May 8, 1948 in Mankato. Ray retired after 30 years with Honeymead. He enjoyed fishing, camping, country music and his C. B. radio, his handle as “Boston Blackie”. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ray is survived by 4 sons, Tim and special friend Denise Anderson of Madison Lake, Raymond Jr. (Rhonda) of Eagle Lake, T.J. and Francis “Willy” also both of Mankato; 9 daughters; Lynn Ragan and late husband Chuck of Eagle Lake, Mary (Clayt) Lukken of Kelso, WA, Judy Black and special friend Jerry Phillips of St. Clair, Sue (Ron) Suess of Judson, Barb (Greg) Wersal of Eagle Lake, Peggy Black and special friend Curt Torgerson of Mankato, Debbie (John) Olson of Mankato, Tammy Black and special friend Tim Wasinger of Mankato, Kim Black and special friend Shawn Kennedy of Lake Crystal; 29 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
He was preceded in died Monday, January 17, 2005 at Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Mayo Hospital in Mankato, as the result of pneumonia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato. Burial will be in Worthington born in Wilmont, MN on October 6, 1917. She was the daughter of Ferdinand and Rosalia (Koessler) Huschka. She attended schools in St. Kilian and Worthington, MN. Rose was united in marriage to Leo Austin in 1940. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family of six children. She worked at St. Mary’s School and Worthington Hospital in Worthington. Rose moved to Hilton Head Island in October of 1980, then to Mankato in 1983.
She is survived by three daughters, Joan and Arnoldus Gruter of Mankato, Janice and Tom Murray of Bloomington, and Mary and Kimberly Crofts of Panama; two sons, Les and Lynda Austin of Pensacola, FL, and Lynn and Darla Austin of Mankato; a daughter-in-law, Lenora Austin of Tucson, AZ; two sisters, Anna Holzmer of Hastings and Agnes Crippen of Loves Park, IL; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Nancy’s Comfort Care, rural Kasota, MN.
Memorial services will be held at Church of Nativity in Cleveland, Thursday, February 3. Visitation from 1-3 p.m. Service at 3 p.m. with luncheon to follow with additional visitation.
Robert was death by his father, Ludvick and brother-in-law, Elmer Bartusek.
Stanley W. Johnson
Stanley W. Johnson, age 73, of Belgrade Township, rural North Mankato, cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
Stanley was death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Elaine Mann.
Donald E. Reasor, Sr
Lake Crystal resident, Donald E. Reasor Sr., age 76, Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm. on Monday, January 31, 2005 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. born August 27, 1928 in Delavan, MN to Clarence and Hazel (Jenson) Reasor. He attended school in Mankato. On May 17, 1947 Donald married life in Lake Crystal and the Mankato area. He was a truck driver, and worked for Mankato Masonary, Carpenter Transfer and Dotson Company. He also owned and operated a resort in New London. Donald had many interests and joys, he especially loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Rusty. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, playing cards, gardening, and yard work. He was a past member of the Moose Club.
Donald is survived by his wife, Margaret of Lake Crystal; sons, Donald “Butch” Reasor Jr. (Cookie) of Mankato, Bill Reasor (Kathy) of Rapid City, SD; daughters, Judy (Lee) Hendley of Madison Lake, Deb (Steve) Brown of Lake Crystal, Connie Reasor of Lake Crystal, Deanna (Mike) Murray of Lake Crystal; 22 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marilyn Reasor of Eagle Lake and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in died Friday morning, January 21, 2005 at Immanuel – St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Lake Crystal born July 26, 1922 in Garden City Township to Clayton H. and Mona (Moody) Jones. He grew up in Judson Township and graduated from Lake Crystal High School. He served with the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 in the Red Arrow Infantry division in Luzon, Philippine Islands and later in occupied Japan. On April 19, 1947 he death by his parents, three brothers, Don, Bill, and Wally; two sisters, Ruth Jones and Audrey Walters.
