Mildred E. Williams
Mildred E. Williams, age 85 of Lake Crystal Interment in Lake Crystal born May 19, 1919 in Lincoln Township, Blue Earth Co. to Ray and Hazel (Williams) Peterson. She was united in marriage to Gordon Williams on March 26, 1949 in Lincoln Township. Mildred graduated from Mankato Beauty School and worked for a short time for Elsie’s Beauty Shop in Lake Crystal. She did day care in her home a many years. She was member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal, P.W.C. and had taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed visiting with neighbors, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Janet and Charles Knakmuhs of Lake Crystal; a sister, Muriel Meixell in Rogers, AR; twin brothers, Sterling Peterson of Mound, Stanley (Marjorie) Peterson of Crystal; sister-in-law, Elsie Williams of Lake Crystal; nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in died Sunday, January 23, 2005 at the Mankato Lutheran Home.
Interment will be in Bluff View born July 7, 1921 to Richard T. and Carrie G. (Skartland) Gravrok in Vermillion, South Dakota. She was a 1939 graduate of Vermillion High School. Selma received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of South Dakota - Vermillion. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Music Education and also a Specialist Degree in Education. Selma was united in marriage to Gerald B. Lawton on July 12, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion. Selma was principal cellist for the Sioux Falls and Sioux City Symphony Orchestras, and later with the Mankato Symphony. Selma taught cello and piano for many years. She and Gerald moved to Willmar in 1975 and to Mankato in 1992. She was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion, Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar, and Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato. Selma played an active part in all of these church’s musical activities. She was also a member of Alpha Xi Delta - Social Sorority and PEO.
Selma is survived by three children, Karen (Azad) Mesrobian of rural St. Peter, Roxanne Lawton of Woodbury, and Ralph David “RD” (Annette) Lawton of St. Paul; four grandchildren, Kristin Mesrobian and husband, Jeff Johnson, Carrie Mesrobian and husband, Adrian Durand, Kaia Lawton, and Justine Lawton; three great-grandchildren, Sidian Johnson, Owen Johnson, and Matilda Durand Mesrobian; one brother, Robert (Eileen) Gravrok of Minneapolis; also nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in died Friday, October 26, 2007, at the Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital, in Mankato. She was death by her father; two brothers, Donald and Ambrose Penning; sister, Alice Penning; niece, June Penning; and a great nephew, Mason Penning.Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday, with parish prayers at 7:30 pm, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, in Wilmont; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Calvary died Thursday, February 3, 2005 at his home with his family at his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 7, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair with Rev. Syl Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church born July 10, 1936 to Lawrence and Lydia (Hagemeister) Juliar in Decoria Township, Blue Earth Co., MN. He was united in marriage to Beverly LeBrun on August 27, 1959 at the parish house of Immaculate Conception Church in St. Clair. Albert farmed all of his life. He also did custom corn shelling for many years. Albert was a member of the Farmers Union and joined Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Clair on August 25, 2004. Albert loved to go on summer and winter fishing trips with family and friends. Hunting with his sons was also a passion of his. He was very generous and giving person and enjoyed helping others.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; their 12 children, Jim (Sharon) Juliar of St. Clair, Janet (Andy) Walechka of LeCenter, Jerome (Brenda) Juliar of Mapleton, Jeanne (Gerald) Schwanz of St. James, Nick (Joleen) Juliar of Mankato, Joe (Lori) Juliar of Red Wing, John (Shelly) Juliar of Mankato, Judy (John) Karels of Good Thunder, Joyce (Mike) Hummer of Pemberton, Jeff Juliar of St. Clair, Albert Juliar Jr. of Mankato, Dean (Jen) Juliar of St. Clair; 28 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lila (Albert) Jongbloedt, Mary Page all of Janesville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in died Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Monday at Garden City Baptist Church, Garden City with Rev. Harvey Hallada, officiating. Cemetery. Visitation on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before services at church on Monday.
Alice was death by her parents and daughter, Charleen.
Edward Jordan
Mountain Lake resident and former Mankato area resident, Edward W. Jordan, age 81, Interment is in Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Edward was married Marilyn Kueny in Jackson, NE they divorced and in 1981 he death by his parents, daughter, Donna E. Becker and sister, Elaine Jordan.
Ralph D. Danberry
Ralph D. Danberry, age 65 of Mapleton, MN Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mankato Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor John Michel officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim’s Rest born October 21, 1939 in Madison Lake, MN to Truman E. and Daisy Mae (Carpenter) Danberry. He was united in marriage to Sandra Simning on July 15, 1961 in St. Peter. He had worked for 40 years in construction, being employed by Bruns & Mundahl Construction and Krediet Construction Co. He built his own home in Mapleton. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Sandra; a daughter, Angela (Ben) Wobschall of Blue Earth; a son, Jeff (Beth) Danberry of Mankato; six grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Justin, Chelsea, Heather and Jessica; three great-grandchildren; Ruby, Emerald and Zoey; three sisters, Stasia (Greg) Miller of Owatonna, Violet Washena of Owatonna, Marcella (Paul) Armendariz of Janesville; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at her home.
Cemetery. Visitation from 4 – 7 p.m., Monday at the Lake Crystal Mortuary and continues one hour before services at church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to MAEOP or Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Betty was married Richard L. Abraham on January 10, 1952. She worked as a secretary at Honeymead then at Lake Crystal National Bank and for over 30 years at Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School before retiring in May of 2001. She was selected as Educational Secretary of the year in 1998. Betty was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Miriam Circle and past president of Zion Lutheran Church Women. She was a member of Minnesota Association of Educational Office Professionals (MAEOP) where she served on the executive board in various capacities and was a past recording secretary. She most recently served as elections chair person director of the national organization. Betty was also a member of the Lake Crystal American Legion Auxiliary Post # 294, the Draft Selective Service Board and the Red Hat Society. Betty enjoyed antiquing, reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, and gardening.
Betty is survived by her husband, Richard Abraham; son, Greg (Janette) Abraham of rural Lake Crystal; daughter, Pam Abraham of Crystal, MN; grandson, Blandy Buchanan Spc. serving in Iraq; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Abraham and his special friend, Jean Borman of Brooklyn Center, MN, Milton (Joy) Abraham of Lake Crystal; one aunt, Eldora Schmuck of Morton, Washington; nieces, nephews, cousins and her faithful companion, her dog Libby.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Gayle.
