Marlene Evelyn Swedberg
Mankato resident, Marlene Swedberg, age 46, Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Harry Meyering Center or to the donor’s choice.
Marlene was death by her paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, and her aunt, Elizabeth “Toddy” Rollings.
Elaine M. James
Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Elaine M. James, age 86, Interment in Immaculate Conception Catholic born March 24, 1918 to Harry and Rose (Bruels) Wenner in St. Clair. She graduated from St. Clair High School. She was united in marriage to Merle James on June 16, 1953 in St. Peter, MN. Elaine was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Merle James of Mankato; three daughters, Mona “Tweetie” Will and her husband, Randy of rural St. Clair, Mary “Bubbles” James-Neher and her husband, Rodney Neher of Janesville, WI, Gloria “Puddin” Winter of Mankato; eleven grandchildren, Jamie (Sara) Will, Kristin and Brian Will; Ben, Ike, and Joel Neher; Kathryn, Robyn, and Aryn Block, Barry and Sara Winter; brother, Lee (Berneil) Wenner of Odin; sister, Joan Bunde of Camarillo, CA; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in died Friday, February 25, 2005 at Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mankato.
Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary Chapel with Capt. William Mealy of the Salvation Army officiating. death by his paternal grandparents and an uncle.
Adelinda A. Peters
Long time Mankato resident Adelinda A. Peters, age 88, Cemetery. Visitation on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary, with a Prayer Service at 5:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before services at the church on Monday. If so desired memorials may be given to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Loyola High School or Lourdes High School, Rochester.>
Adelinda was death by her husband, Marvin in 1970 and daughter, Marlene (Peters) Patrias in 1992.
Mertyce E. Veith
Mankato resident, Mertyce Elizabeth Veith, age 88, Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the service.
Mertyce was married Andrew Veith in Mankato. Mertyce enjoyed knitting, playing bridge, jigsaw puzzles, refunding, and especially loved playing with her grandchildren.
She is survived by 1 son, Michael and his wife, Cynthia of Mankato; 4 grandchildren, Jay, Brian, Nicole, Shawn; great grandchildren, Rishaun, Deontrae, Alec, Aidan, Dustin. She was preceded in died Monday, February 14, 2005 at the Harry Meyering Center in Mankato. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary, with Rev. Steve Kosberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Theodore’s Catholic died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at her home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 21, 2005 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Joel Erickson officiating. Burial will be in Hebron born on November 4, 1934 in Judson to Frank and Clarine (Gosch) Brown. Joyce was a 1952 graduate of Mankato High School, and also a graduate of Mankato Business College with a degree in book keeping. She was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Kelley on July 16, 1955. They lived in Mankato, where they owned and operated Mankato Dental Arts for several years. They also purchased a hobby farm outside of Mankato and raised sheep. Joyce then worked for Coloplast and Alwyn in quality control. She most recently worked with her brother, Ron Brown at Confident Dental Lab to help start up his business in Minneapolis. Joyce was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato, and was involved with Art Club, Money Club, and various Card Clubs. She made several stuffed dolls, animals, and Raggedy Anns to put smiles on children’s faces and donated them to Toys for Tots, Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Pediatric Dept., Theresa House, and the CADA House. Joyce loved crafts, sewing, painting, biking, golfing, gardening, and spending quality time with her family. She was a true artist at everything she did. Joyce lost her battle with brain cancer but put up an extreme and courageous fight. She will now be at peace and become our guardian angel to look over us forever.
Joyce is survived by two daughters, Sheila Kelley and her husband, Jerome Bykonen of Mankato, Leah Hansen and her husband, Daniel of Madison Lake; two sons and their wives, Michael and Jennifer Kelley of Mankato, Bradley and Anita Kelley of New London-Spicer; grandchildren, Benjamin and Anna Kelley of Mankato, Ryan Tracy of Mitchell, SD, Joshua Kelley and his wife, Nikki, Jarrod Kelley and his wife, Melisa, and Janell Kelley all of New London-Spicer area, Kate Farnham of Mankato, and Andrea Lawrence of Madison Lake, Jeremy Hansen and Andy Hansen of Mankato; great-grandchildren, Kelby Tracy, McKenna Kelley, Alysa and Hunter Kelley, Nicholas, Jeremy Jr., Jordan, and Austen Hansen; sister and her husband, Lois and Michael Rosin of Mankato; three brothers, Ralph Brown and his significant other, Gloria Rogers, of Eugene, OR, Ron Brown of Moundsview, Rick Brown and his wife, Terri of Judson; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Michel of North Mankato and Fran Trudeau of Mankato; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joyce was preceded in died Monday, February 14, 2005 at Friendship Manor in Shakopee.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. John Wilmot officiating. Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. TODAY with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service at Lake Crystal Mortuary. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be given to the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Raymond John Hanson was married Evelyn Mae Bennett on April 15, 1936 in Madelia. Ray farmed for many years in the area. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lake Crystal, Knights of Columbus 109 of Mankato, and the Lake Crystal Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, bowling, traveling, and making outdoor Christmas Decorations for his home in Lake Crystal.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra (Al) Giese of Coon Rapids, Linda Hanson of Prior Lake, Vicki Hanson of New Prague; two sons, Raymond Jr. (Jean) Hanson of Apple Valley, Richard (Pat) Hanson of Hilton Head Island, SC; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Leona Lloyd of Lake Crystal, Mae (Al) Kjos of North Mankato, and Mathilda Fanning of Sioux Falls, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn in 1999; and a granddaughter, Tracy Hanson.
