Frank A. Courts
Frank Able Courts, age 90 of Mankato and formerly of Jeffers, Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor David Banfield officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Jeffers born August 12, 1914 in Waterloo, Iowa to Jacob and Della (Dunn) Courts. He grew up and farmed in the Jeffers area. On September 12, 1942, he death by his parents and his wife.
Margaret Kruse
North Mankato resident, Margaret Helen Kruse, age 85, Interment will be at Sherburn City born September 26, 1919 in Sherburn, MN, daughter of William D. and Marie (Roesti) Finke. On November 11, 1945 she married woman, and Fairmont from 1954 to 1992. North Mankato has been her home since that time. Margaret did home care of the elderly in her home and liked to travel.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Barb (Jim) A. Kallin of South St. Paul and Beverly M. (Stacy) Reichel of North Mankato; 2 granddaughters, Sara and Susanna; 2 brothers, Vernard and Delmar (Charlotte) all of Oregon. She was preceded in died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Immanuel-St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mankato.
Memorial Services will be 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Woodland Hills Chapel with Rev. Joel Erickson officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at a later date in Pilgrim’s Rest born April 17, 1926, in Vernon Center to Fredrick and Laura (Mees) Erdman.
On April 18, 1944, Phyllis death by her parents; husband, Dick; son, Richard; brother, Maurice Erdman; and brother-in-law, Michael George.
Jacqueline J. Michel
Jacqueline J. Michel, age 79, of North Mankato, born October 8, 1925 in Tyler to Cecil Joseph and Gladys Evelyn (Charlesworth) Kelley. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1943 and worked at a bank in Marshall. She took the Civil Service Test and worked in Utah for the Government during World War II. She returned to Minnesota and worked for First National Bank in Mankato. On May 10, 1948, she death by her husband, Donald in 1995; two infant children; a grandson, Andrew; two brothers, Ken and Jim Kelley; two brothers-in-law, Art Michel and Leo Trudeau; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Kelley and Darlene Kelley.
Genevieve B. Johnson
Genevieve B. Johnson, age 78, of Lake Crystal, interment will be in Lake Crystal born July 21, 1926 in Northfield, MN to Everett and Jane (Cruickshank) Hoover. She was the youngest of five children. Gen graduated from Faribault High School and Miss Woods Kindergarten & Primary School in Minneapolis. Following her graduation, she moved to Lake Crystal to teach first grade. She born and soon after she acquired the name “Bunny” given to her by her grandson. She enjoyed all aspects of being a grandparent as well as enjoying children in the community. Throughout the years the support and devotion Glenn and Gen shared enhanced their life together. This was especially evident the last 3 ˝ years when Gen was a resident in the Luther Memorial Home. They still spent their days together.
Gen is survived by her loving husband, Glenn of Lake Crystal; three daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Dan Thornton of Lakeville, Roxie and Dana Benbow of Budd Lake, NJ, Sharry and Wayne Becklin of Elk River; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in died Friday, April 22, 2005 at the Mankato Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Cambria Presbyterian Church, Cambria, MN with Rev. Penny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to Cambria Presbyterian Church or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
Mildred was married John R. Thomas on June 8, 1946 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa. They made their home near Cambria on a farm, where Mildred was a homemaker for her family. John married Robert Smith on October 25, 1980 in Mankato. They resided near Judson.
Mildred was a member of Cambria Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary of Cambria, Oak Grove death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Arleen; and sister, Margaret.
Susan M. Fechter
Susan M. Fechter, age 52, of Mankato born on September 12, 1952 in St. James, MN to Kenneth and Delores (Folkestad) Fechter. She attended high school in Roseville, MN, Philadelphia, and graduated in 1970 from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, UT. She was a Minnesota State University graduate with an Art major. She owned and operated Susan’s in Mankato for many years. She was a free spirit if there ever was one and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Susan was an artist and enjoyed jewelry, especially long dangly earrings, Nascar, and spending time with her friends.
She is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Delores Fechter of Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers, Ronald (Gloria) Fechter of Salt Lake City, UT, Richard (Kimberly) Fechter of San Rafael, CA; six nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
