Reno M. Rue
Reno Milo Rue, age 89 of rural Mankato, Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Lake Crystal Mortuary with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa born July 21, 1917 to Ole and Velma (Allen) Rue in rural Madelia. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 during World War II. Reno was a farmer, and operated his own garage and sawmill at his home in rural Judson. He also worked for Kato Engineering. Reno enjoyed music and played in a small band, he also enjoyed mechanical work and reading.
Reno is survived by his sister, Marlys (Albert) Teigum of rural Madelia; nieces, Carolyn (Tom) Schultz of rural Madelia, Barb Snyder of Andover, NJ; grand nephews, Grant Schultz and Jamie Schultz.
He was preceded in died after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family. There will be a time to visit with the family from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Mankato Mortuary.
Edward Ernest Christnagel was married to Janet L. Brostrom in Algona, IA. They resided in North Mankato prior to moving to the rural Lake Crystal area in 1974. Ed worked in various security and law enforcement positions before his employment as a police officer in Lake Crystal. He retired in 2002 as Chief of Police in Good Thunder. Ed enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing cards, and slot machines.
Survivors include five children, Mark (Letitia) Christnagel of Fort Dodge, IA, Julie Harrington (friend, Mark Heintz) of Rochester, Lisa (James) Claussen of Brooklyn Park, Amy (Jeff) Caven of Good Thunder, Scott (Kari) Christnagel of North Mankato; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Christnagel of Mankato, Diana Christnagel of Waseca; mother-in-law, Louise Brostrom of Mapleton; nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in died Monday, October 09, 2006 at the St. Peter Health Care Center.
Funeral services are pending with Mankato Mortuary.
Melvin served in the United States Army Field Artillery from 1949-1951.
Melvin is survived by his sisters: Lois Jacobsen and Claudia Germo; brothers: Marvin and Kenneth Gimmer all of Mankato; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in died Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 Monday, October 16, 2006 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour before service on Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood death by his parents, James and Bertha (Holcomb) Watts; daughter, Wendy; three sisters, Carol Becker, Janice Piel, Betty Swedberg; brother, Quentin Watts; brother-in-law, Amil Becker.
James D. Baker
James David Baker, age 74, of Mankato Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Hosanna Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Steve Kosberg and Rev. Dan Weise, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to American Heart Association, Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospice, Hosanna Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
Jim was death by his parents; infant grandson, Brett Terhurne; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Allan Tommeraasen, Rene and John Felber; two brothers, Raymond and Richard Baker.
Arthur Willaert
MANKATO, MN – Arthur R. Willaert, age 75, of Mankato, MN, death will be held at 1:30 pm at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday, October, 3, 2006. Burial will be in Calvary born on October 3, 1930, to Cyril Henry and Theresa (Depuydt) Willaert. He attended the local area Catholic School. He and his father and brothers farmed together in Blue Earth and Nicollet Counties for many years. He death by his parents, 2 brothers, Joe Willaert and Lawrence Willaert, 1 sister, Marie Willaert, several brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Esther Heinze Bartsch
Esther Heinze Bartsch, age 88, of Mankato, Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Paul Nolting officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be held at Pilgrim's Rest born on October 11, 1918 in rural Rapidan. She was the daughter of Alfred and Lydia (Hermel) Kroeger. Esther was a 1937 graduate of Rapidan High School. She graduated from Bethany Lutheran College and Mankato State Teacher's College, and received her Master's Degree from Mankato State University. Esther was united in marriage to Milton Heinze on September 19, 1945 in Rapidan. He married Edwin Bartsch on June 19, 1981 in Mankato. He death by her parents; husbands, Milton and Edwin; and one brother, Reuben Kroeger.
