Lucille Weimert
Lucille "Squeak" Pauline Weimert, age 80 of Mankato, Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Salvation Army, Elk's Youth Camp, Waseca County Homeless Prevention (MVAC), MSU State Nursing Scholarship Fund, and Blue Earth County Historical Society.
Lucille was the fifth child of Clem & Anna (Hoffman) Hinkel. She was married Gerald (Jerry) Weimert on January 20, 1947. Lucille was a volunteer physical education teacher at Holy Rosary School. She worked at the Quarter Back Club in North Mankato. She worked at Robby's Hamburger across from Mankato West High School. She worked with her family at Kato Sanitation, Inc and the Ponderosa Landfill for many years. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and traveling around the globe. She was always on the go. She volunteered at a variety of functions with St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and at the Salvation Army on Mondays.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 269, Does (Elks Lodge #225), Women of the Moose Lodge 606, Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 950, Catholic Daughters, Blue Earth County Historical Society, the Summit Center, and American Legion Auxiliary Post 11.
Lucille is survived by her son, Stephen (Cinda) Weimert of Mankato; daughters, Theresa (Tom) McLaughlin of Mankato, Denise Strusz-Rice (John) of Medford, OR; daughter-in-law Jody Weimert (Joe Murilla), Janesville, MN; grandchildren, Heidi (Sean) McFarland, Elizabeth (Mat) Tauer, Melissa Strusz, Bree (Bob) Meyer, Andy (Beth) Weimert, Jared (Shandy) Weimert, Luke Weimert, Michael (Megan) McLaughlin, Ben Strusz, Bridget Strusz, Sam Strusz and Logan Weimert; great-grandchildren, William Tauer, Kobe Weimert, Jackson Meyer, Amelia Tauer and Noah Wussow; two sisters, Marge Curtis of Las Vegas, NV, Dorothy (Al) Calvet of San Clemente, CA; a brother, Jerry (Betty Frenz) Hinkel of Nora Springs, IA; sisters-in-law, Colette Hinkle, Annabelle Hinkle, Florence Hinkel, Dorothy Hinkel, Hilly Weimert, Helen Lamm, Alice Benson and Bev Weimert.
Steven Lee Cashin
Steven L. Cashin, age 51, of North Mankato, born in Faribault to William and Delores (Ellerbusch) Cashin on January 17, 1955. He attended the Faribault Public Schools. He death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, one brother, and an infant brother and sister.

Gordon F. Thurber, age 74, of Mankato, born December 12, 1931 to Frank and Laura (Harp) Thurber in Mankato. He death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Catherine Ann Pruett
Catherine Ann Pruett, age 43, of Mankato Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Evangelical Covenant Church, North Mankato, with Rev. Kevin Melin, officiating. Burial will be in Fairbury born March 16, 1963 to Bruce and Lu (Pfister) Ackerman in Beatrice, NE. She graduated from Fairbury High School in 1981. She attended the University of Nebraska and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan College with a major in Psychology and Art History. She was united in marriage to Michael Pruett on June 6, 1987 in Omaha, NE. Catherine was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, was aBible Study Fellowship leader, was a church youth leader, and a member of P.E.O. Catherine will be remembered for her beautiful voice and her quick wit. She enjoyed playing the piano and clarinet, gardening, and making her own jewelry. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Catherine had a natural way of drawing people to her.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Michael; two children, Jacob and Jennifer all of Mankato; parents, Bruce and Lu Ackerman of Fairbury, NE; two brothers, Dr. Anthony Ackerman of Iowa City, IA, John Ackerman and his wife Victoria of Poplar Ridge, NY; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Merl and Barb Pruett of Cherokee, IA; two brothers-in-law, Matt Pruett of Cherokee, IA, Mitch Pruett and his wife Mikeala of Sioux Falls, SD; nieces and nephews, Samuel and Emma Ackerman, Nolan and Taylor Pruett.
Sam J. Olsen
Sam J. Olsen, age 98, of Lake Crystal, Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary.
Sam was married Merle O. Anfinson on October 14, 1938 in Lake Crystal. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a millright in Mankato, at Tumico Co. in St. James, and was self employed as a carpenter and painter in Lake Crystal for many years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the American Legion John Roth Post 294. Sam enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching baseball, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Sam is survived by a son, Nels Olsen and wife, Mary of Mankato; eight grandchildren, Nels Olsen Jr. of Glenwood Springs, CO, Gina (Tom) Massop of Minnesota Lake, Dawn (Kelly) Sandborg of Mapleton, Erin (Tom) Drews of Mapleton, Paula Nelson of Montgomery, Jennifer (Chris) Lemke of Lake Crystal, Jesse Raatz of Mankato, Eric Olsen of Mankato; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Sam was preceded in died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Lake Crystal, with Rev. John Wilmot officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood born September 29, 1928 in Cincinnati, OH, to William T. and Esther (Kohler) Witty. Her mother, Esther death by her Grandmother Witty; parents; brother-in-law, Arnold Kuball; and aunt, Hazel Witty on September 5, 2006.
Wayne R. "Bud" Dornack, Sr.
MANKATO, MN – Wayne R. “Bud” Dornack, Sr., age 81, born November 6, 1924 to Herman and Myrtle Dornack in Rochester, MN. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 – 1944 during World War II. On August 21, 1966, he death by his parents, his sister, Shirley Johnson and his step-mother, Min Dornack of Rochester, MN.
