Stanley E. Studer
Mankato, MN – Stanley Studer age 78 of Mankato Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2006 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. Richard Colletti officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Mankato Mortuary with a 4:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006 in St. Mary's Catholic born May 7, 1928 in Wesley, Iowa to Julius P. and Caroline F. (Wingert) Studer. He graduated from St. Lawrence Seminary in Fond du Lac, WI in 1946. He served in the Korean Conflict, stationed in Tokyo, Japan from 1951-1953. He was united in marriage to Mary Therese Willette on May 2, 1953 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Easton, MN. Stanley worked as a Lab/X-ray Technician in Blue Earth, Winnebago and Lake City hospitals. He attended Sacred Heart Hospital X-ray School in Eau Claire, WI, graduating in 1971. He moved to Mankato, where he was employed at ISJ Hospital as an x-ray technologist from 1971-1993. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and VINE. He enjoyed reading, fishing and singing and participated in St. John's Church Choir, Summit Center Chorus, and Realife Reds.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Therese Studer of Mankato; six children, Marian (Gary) Carpenter of Canyon, TX, Joette (Ron) Gillett of Buffalo City, WI, Neysa (David) Ellgren of Maple Grove, MN, Jennifer (David) Pfeffer of Mankato, Theresa Marquez of Fayetteville, AR, Peter (Sandra) Studer of West Orange, NJ; eleven grandsons; five granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Madeline Studer, SSND, Virginia (Bill) Orthel, Carol Elmore, Kathleen (Bienve) Perez, Margaret Studer, Rose Marie Studer; four brothers, Cletus Studer, Philip (Rosa Lee) Studer, Steven (Hope) Studer, Gerald (Mary Ann) Studer; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Stanley was preceded in died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at Immanuel – St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Jack Dahl officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or the Stain Glass Fund, Hospice or the donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Bill Steinberg was Born of Whitter, CA; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in died Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at Good Counsel Convent, Mankato, Minnesota, at age 69.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 20, at 3:00 p.m. in Good Counsel Chapel, with Fr. Ted Hottinger, SJ, as celebrant. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Good Counsel, with Vespers in the chapel at 7:00 p.m. Visitation is also one hour prior to the funeral on Friday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge.
Sister Mary Jane (Mary Jane Heynen) was death by her parents, her sister Bonita “Bonnie” Erickson, brother-in-law, Gene Erickson, and nephew, Michael Erickson.
Morgan Thomas
Morgan I. Thomas, 89, married on June 2, 1947, in Mason City, Iowa. Mrs. Thomas resides in Sibley Manor. They have two death by one sister.
Dr. and Mrs. Thomas moved to Mankato in February 1953. He was Dean of the College of Business from 1960 until his retirement in 1982.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mankato, a former City Councilman and served on the board of directors of the United Way and Chamber of Commerce. He was also very active in local birding clubs.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, at the First Presbyterian Church of Mankato. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Woodland Hills Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marjorie and Morgan Thomas Scholarship at the MSU Foundation or First Presbyterian Church.
Gary L. Purdie
Mankato, MN – Gary L. Purdie, age 58, of Mankato, Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 1, 2006 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. John Petersen, officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood born March 13, 1948 in Albert Lea to Loren H. and Ardean (Beyer) Purdie. He was a 1966 Minnesota Lake High School graduate and attended Mankato State University. He death by his father, Loren “Brownie”, sister, Vicki, and a nephew, Joe.
William F. Becker
William Fredrick Becker, age 76, of North Mankato Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Mankato with Rev. Gary Wong officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
William was death by his parents.
Mary Lee Utermohlen
Mary Lee Utermohlen, 77, of Mankato Cemetery. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mankato Summit Center, Centenary United Methodist Church, Rust College or an organization of the donor’s choice.
