Merle Franklin was death by his parents, two daughters, Sue Iddings and Patty Rock, and one sister Dorothy.
Harvey "HK" W. Kopischke
North Mankato resident, Harvey “HK” W. Kopischke, 68, Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Harvey was married Beverly Ann Jacobsen in Fort Dodge, IA. Through the years he was employed by; Union Labors, Union Millwright, George Carlstrom Construction, Honeymead, ADM, Rochester Armored Car, Manske Bus Service, Palmer Bus; and he also owned and operated “Harvey Kopischke & Sons Wholesale Live Bait”.
“HK” had many interests; he loved western movies, fishing, gun and knife collecting and was a Nascar fan. He especially loved time spent with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife for 46 years, Beverly “Squaw” of North Mankato; his children, Jeffery Kopischke of Chula Vista, CA, Rory (Renae) Kopischke of Mankato, Monty (Vicki) Kopischke of Mankato, Kim (Jeff) McCabe of Mankato, Jody Sistrunk of Mankato; 8 grandchildren, Cassondra, Ashley, Derrik, Dylan, Tori, Hayley, Alexis, Landon “Big Boy”; brothers, Tyrone Herbst of Chaska, Terry (Brenda) Herbst of Mankato; nieces and nephew, Marinda, Amber and Andrew.
He was preceded in died Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at Oaklawn Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 15 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. Paul Lauer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Private family born April 20, 1910 in North Mankato to Andrew and Amanda (Sundall) Persons. She attended Mankato High School Class of 1928.

Ernest Curtis Johnson, 62, of rural Nicollet cemetery. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and one hour before services Thursday at the church.

Mercedes Wolner, 83, of St. James Cemetery in St. James. Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Pease Funeral Home in St. James and one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
Virgil C. Leonard
Virgil C. Leonard, age 61 of Mankato, Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Mankato Mortuary. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at Mankato Mortuary. Burial will be in Union death by his parents, Walter and Edna (Rath) Leonard.
Arlene Wieland
Arlene Wieland, 77, of New Ulm cemetery. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Schmucker passed away at Oaklawn Health Care Center on Thursday, October 25, 2007, after a brief illness. Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 - 6 p.m., Sunday at Landkamer-Johnson-Boman funeral home and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, the First Presbyterian Church or the donor’s choice.Susie was married at St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Richmond on June 15, 1943. They then moved to Mankato, MN where she has resided ever since. After her husband’s death by her parents; her husband, Clarence in 1963; one son in infancy; two brothers, Thomas Jr. as a young boy and her special brother, Dr. Jack W. Webb of Lexington, KY; a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law; and several special aunts and cousins.
Lawrence Overn
Lawrence Overn, 86, retired Nicollet County Auditor Cemetery at a later date.Mr. Overn was married Margaret Shirley Terry on January 1, 1942. They lived in St Paul where he worked for the American Hoist and Derrick until being inducted into military service. He served as a staff sergeant in the 103rd Infantry Division in the European Theater. His military medals include the Bronze Star. They returned to St. Peter after the war and he became a partner in the Lindberg Hardware Store. In January of 1955 he went to work as Deputy County Auditor and in February of 1962 was appointed Nicollet County Auditor where he served until his retirement in 1985. He was a lifetime member of First Lutheran church in St. Peter where he served for six years on the church council and 10 years as church treasurer. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, the St. Peter Last Mans Club, and was a member of the Masonic Order.Mr. Overn is survived by his wife, two sons: Terry (Sherry) of Le Center, and Steven of St. Paul; three daughters: Sheila (Chuck)Alexander of Murfreesboro TN, Lorri (Bob) Duff of Pensacola FL and Lisa (Jason) Buchholz of Shakopee; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one brother: Harold Jr. (Jean) of Tucson AZ; one sister Helen Smith of St. Paul; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
