C. Pat Russell
C. Pat Russell, age 89 of Mankato formerly of Albert Lea born on August 28, 1918 in Olivia, MN. He was a 1936 graduate of Olivia High School. Pat was passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2008.
Preceded in born September 9, 1915 to Henry and Sophia (Mueller) Meier on a farm in Long Lake Township, Watonwan County, Minnesota. He received his education in rural school at Immanuel Lutheran in Galena Township. Lorenz then farmed with his family in Long Lake Township. On August 27, 1950, he was united in marriage to Ezurina Giese Cunningham at Madelia, Minnesota. After their marriage they farmed in Long Lake Township until moving in 2001 to Homested Cooperative in St. James. Just recently he has become a resident of Pleasantview Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Lorenz was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Farm Bureau, Long Lake Township Board, Lutheran Laymen League. You could find him either mowing the lawn at Martin Luther High School in Northrop or selling Super Cross Seed corn. He greatly enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing or volunteering his time.
Lorenz death by his parents, daughter, Judith; step-daughter, Carol; brothers, Edgar, Clarence and Victor Meier; sister Verna and other relatives.
In liew of flowers, memorials are preferred to Martin Luther High School in Northrop, Minnesota.
Barbara Ann Fasnacht
Barbara Ann Fasnacht, age 61 of Madison Lake, MN, born on November 2, 1946 in St. Peter, Minnesota to Bruce and Jeanne (Krier) Leverson. The family moved to North Mankato in 1951. Barb attended school at Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from West High School in 1964, and went on to attend Mankato State University. On September 18, 1965 Barb was united in marriage to John P. Fasnacht at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Barb worked most of her life for a number of local area businesses, most recently for Lake Country Sales in Waterville. Barb and John have lived in the Madison Lake area all of their lives, but recently built their dream home on Round Lake near Elysian. This area around the lake had become a favorite sport for Barb and her family.
Barb is survived by her husband, John of Madison Lake; her six children, son Eric (Shelly Jerome) Fasnacht of Peoria, Illinois; daughter Kristine (Mark) Fumia of Eagle River, Alaska; son Ninh (Mai) Nguyen of Elk Grove, California; son Nhon (Phuong) Nguyen of Garden Grove, California; son Ban (Ai-Le) Tran of Pensacola, Florida; daughter Van (Thanh) Pham of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; her sibling, Deborah (Thomas) Dull of Mankato; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barbara Hill of Madison Lake, Rosemary and John Hiniker of Nicollet, Walter and Rose Fasnacht of Madison Lake; and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in died Friday, March 7, 2008 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato. Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2008 in the Community Room of Oak Terrace Assisted Living. Spring burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Mankato Mortuary handled arrangements.
Theodore Roosevelt Potter was died in 1929. Ted attended elementary school in North Mankato and high school in Mankato. Ted was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Ulrich on January 8, 1934. Ted worked with his father, George, in the coal business until January 1942. Ted and Dorothy moved to San Francisco, CA to help in war work and returned to Mankato in the fall of 1944. In 1951, they moved to Galesburg, IL and had worked in cemetery business for a year. They then moved to Kansas City, MO for two years. During the fall of 1957, they returned to Mankato and went into the hardware business. Ted's father, George, death in 1998, Ted returned to Mankato.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Ted was preceded in died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at her home after a 12 year battle with breast cancer.
Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Alan Solberg of New Ulm; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Darren Anderson of New Ulm; sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Tammy Wieben of Stewart, Darin and Becky Solberg of Wahpeton, North Dakota, Jamie and Brandi Wieben of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Alex Solberg, Jaylin Solberg, Nickolas Wieben, Chase Wieben, Malorie Anderson, Brody Wieben; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Karen Kohn, Tim and Lori Kohn all of Courtland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger Solberg of Minneapolis, Janice and Jerry Orvik of Fargo, North Dakota, Diane and Wayne Johnson of Lakota, North Dakota, Pat and Tom Wheeler of Augusta, Montana, and Paul and Sheri Solberg of Devil's Lake, North Dakota.
She was preceded in born on November 21, 1951 in New Ulm to Marvin and Florence (Lindemann) Kohn. She was a graduate of New Ulm Public High School. On February 21, 1970 she was united in marriage to Richard Wiehr of Mankato. They had a one son, Chad. Richard did not return from the Vietnam War. Kathy then died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Cemetery, rural Nicollet. Full military honors will be provided at the death by his parents, a sister Marlene Wenner a brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Doris Hopp, a brother Harry Hopp, and a sister-in-law, Mavis Hopp.
John Paul Hopp, the son of Paul and Lillian (Johannes) Hopp was born on March 18, 1925 in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County. He graduated from Nicollet High School in 1943. On March 17, 1948 John was united in marriage to Jacqueline Summers in St. Peter. John was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1945 - 1946 and was stationed in Pearl Harbor and Guam. He was the official driver for Admiral Nimitz. After his military service John returned to the Nicollet area where he work as a truck driver for Fischer Sand and Gravel, Selby Manufacturing, R.E. Grunst Trucking, Nicollet Co-op, and then for Myles Lawrence Construction out of St. Peter. John retired in 1988. John was a member of the American Legion Post #510 in Nicollet. He loved to spend time with his family, woodworking making toys and wall hangings, and to play Yahtzee.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the donor’s choice.
