DONALD COLLINS WHITE
DONALD COLLINS WHITE, age 87 of Waseca Born in Mallard, Iowa on June 27, 1921, he was the son of Eddie and Lucille (Swanson) White. Don graduated from Mallard High School and attended one year at Hamilton Business College in Mason City, IA. He death by his parents, wife and one son - Stephan.
Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 4-7 PM and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Funeral services will be on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 10: 30 AM at Faith United Church in Waseca with Rev. Robert Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville died on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the New Richland Care Center.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd at 1:30 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca with Rev. Jeff Peterson officiating. Cemetery in Blue Earth County.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Wednesday morning for one hour prior to the service.
Bessie Marion was death in 1978 Bessie continued to reside in Pemberton until 2006 when she moved to Waseca. Bessie loved dancing, fishing, traveling, playing cards, crafts, vacationing, and just having a good time. She was always willing to help her children!
Bessie is survived by her son Jimmie (Kathy) Groll of Waseca, and her daughters Lois (Burt) Coy of Waldorf, Melva (Ronald) Schull of Pemberton, Audrey Meyer of Waseca, Sharon Burnett and Charles Slaymaker of Hutchinson, and Lorraine (Murt) Bull of Fremont, Nebraska; by her sisters-in-law Madeline Griffin of Good Thunder, and June Griffin of Mankato; by her close friend and helper, Alberta Pierce of Waseca; 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren; by her nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
She was preceded in died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, at St. Lawrence in Faribault with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan and Rev. Donald DeGrood, officiating. Cemetery, Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to the donor’s choice.
Victor Edwin DeGrood, the son of George Sr. and Barbara (Kern) DeGrood, was death by his parents and his brother, Robert DeGrood.
Donna A. Harn
Donna A. Harn, age 77 of Faribault, Interment will be at the St. Patrick Church Born on October 31, 1931 in Faribault, Donna was the daughter of William and Katherine (Sklenar) McCarthy. She attended Bethlehem Academy in Faribault and graduated in 1949. Donna death by her parents; sister, Mary Lou Redman; brother, George McCarthy; and much-loved in-laws.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Alice Bjerke
Alice Ann Bjerke, wife, mother, business woman, friend, and humanitarian born January 14, 1941 to Gustav Arthur and Alida (Revne) Anderson in St. James Township, Watonwan County. She attended country school, District 45 and graduated from St. James High School in 1958. She was employed by First National Bank of St. James from 1958 until 1972. Alice was united in marriage to Keith H. Bjerke on January 14, 1970 at First Lutheran Church in St. James. The couple resided in St. James for the first two years of their marriage, moved to Austin for two years, and then to Mankato for another two years. They built a home, raised their sons and established a business together in Waseca where they lived from 1976 until 1994. The couple resided on Lake Washington from 1994 until 2004 and then returned to Mankato.
Alice was the co-owner and bookkeeper for KB Trucking in Waseca and Mankato from 1983 until 2004, worked at the Open Door Clinic from 2004 until 2006, and was then bookkeeper for Western Specialized, Inc. from 2006 to present. Alice also found herself to be a ‘mother to all her drivers' while working for both KB and Western.
Alice was a former member of First Lutheran Church in St. James and a current member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato. For several years, Alice actively participated in PACT ministries and the Food For All. In the last two years, Alice and Keith also enjoyed delivering Meals On Wheels. Alice loved spending time with her family, gardening, bird watching and reading.
Alice is survived by her husband, Keith, of Mankato; two sons, Robert Bjerke of Mankato, Chad Bjerke and wife Tara of Waseca and their four children, Casey, Charlotte, Cole and Cecelia; sister, Ardys Peterson of St. James; nephew, Curtis Peterson and wife, Kim of Windom; and niece, Julie Peterson of St. James.
Alice was preceded in funeral service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ISJ Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
WAVERLY JEAN (FETTE) JERROW
WAVERLY JEAN (FETTE) JERROW, age 75 of Northfield, Born in Waseca on December 3, 1933, W. Jean was the daughter of Ernest & Evelyn (Seavey) Fette. She attended school in Owatonna, and graduated in 1953. In 1952 she passed away in 2001. W. Jean was then death by her parents; two sons, Michael and Robin Simacek; one brother, Arnie Fette; Emil Simacek, father of the children.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 1:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Vicki Hultine officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca is handling arrangements.
