Marjorie L. Gleason
Marjorie L. Gleason, age 87 of Waseca, Interment will be in the Calvary born on October 13, 1921 in Morris, Minnesota to Nicholaus and Selma (Thomson) Lux. She and her family moved from Ramona, South Dakota to Waseca in the summer of 1930. She graduated from Waseca Central High School in 1939. Prior to her marriage Marge worked at JC Penny’s in Waseca, and in an ammunition plant in Los Angeles. On November 19, 1942 she was united in marriage to Raymond Gleason at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Marge worked alongside Ray on their dairy farm while raising their family. In 1991 they moved into the city of Waseca. Marge was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. She was active in her church circle, the Sacred Heart W.C.C.W., and volunteered her time to many other church groups and activities. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and baking, having baked the wedding cakes for her children and grandchildren’s weddings. She especially enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years Ray and her four children, Susan (Neil) Hovelsrud of Waseca, Donald (Peggy) Gleason of Owatonna, Joseph Gleason of Waseca, Jerry (Joette) Gleason of Waseca, and her son-in-law Donald Manke of Janesville; by 15 grandchildren, Tammy (Randy) Cummins, Kathy (Jason) Witt, Donald (Stacey) Manke, Greg Manke, Cassie Hovelsrud, Toby (Angie) Hovelsrud, Stacey Larson, Brian Gleason, Stephanie Gleason, Jessica (Andrew) Gregory, Jeffrey Gleason, Jennifer Gleason, Brandon Gleason, Jacob Gleason and Kimberly Gleason; by 15 great grandchildren, Kortney and Karter Cummins, Jarod, Austin and Katey Witt, Morgan, Ashley, Joshua and Cora Manke, Carter Hovelsrud, Colton, Carley and Calvin Larson, Jada Gleason and Haylie Bartelt; by her sister-in-law Rosella Gleason, and several nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in died peacefully at home on Memorial Day, May 25, 2009.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet born in Mankato on October 5, 1930, to Clem and Bernice (Johnson) Dillon. She death by her grandparents, parents, sister, Sharon; husband, Bud in July of 2005; and grandson, Terry.
Margot G. Schuette
Margot Schuette Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2009 at Hosanna Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Kosberg officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National born on November 29, 1922 in Leipzig, Germany, to Otto and Gertrude (Geldner) Beier. Margot was baptized on April 2, 1923 at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig. Along with her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, Margot came to America in August 1923, landing at Ellis Island. She became a U.S. citizen on September 10, 1934. Margot was confirmed April 5, 1936 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waseca. In 1940 after graduating from Waseca High School, she graduated from the MN School of Business. Margot was united in marriage on June 22, 1947 to Hilton F. Schuette at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waseca. They moved to Hutchinson and were blessed with three children. Margot and Hilton enjoyed over 61 years of marriage blessings, ending with his death by her parents; her husband, Hilton; one sister, Frieda Beier; two brothers-in-law; and one nephew.
Mary Faith Fuhrman
Mary Faith Fuhrman, age 65 of Elysian, Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National born on May 2, 1943 in Waseca, MN. Mary attended Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault and graduated with the class of 1961. From there Mary went to Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. On July 8, 1967 she was united in marriage to Duane Fuhrman at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Janesville. Mary was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority and the P.E.O Sisterhood. Mary and Duane wintered for many years in Mesa, AZ.
She is survived by her husband Duane Fuhrman of Elysian; by two siblings, Jo Poyser of Janesville and her son, Scott Poyser and fiancé Ashley Bystrom of Eden Prairie, MN and by Mike (Candi) Scott of Elysian and their daughters Courtney and Chelsea Scott of Elysian; by her aunt, Jean Doyle of Mankato; and by cousins, Gary (Diane) Doyle of Plymouth, MN, Barb Doyle of Richfield, MN and Sherry (Rick) Bock of Eden Prairie, MN and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, at Sacred Heart in Faribault. Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services. The Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Patricia Margaret Zimmerman, the daughter of Wallace and Rachel (Bushey) Zimmerman, was death by her parents, her grandson, Brandon McNamara, three brothers, Bob, Tom and Joe Zimmerman, by her brother James in infancy, by her inlaws, Walter and Gladys LaCroix and by two brothers in law, Jim Burke and Lowell Langdon.
Florentine Thomson
Florentine C. Thomson, age 94 of Waseca, Interment will be in the Calvary born on April 22, 1915 to Dennis and Catherine (Ford) Donovan in Waseca, Minnesota. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1933. After attending Minneapolis Business College, Florentine began a long career with Northwestern Bell Telephone in Waseca and Rochester. She retired in 1980 after 35 years of service. Florentine was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, V.F.W. Auxiliary Sweet-Sommers Post 1642, Waseca American Legion Auxiliary Post # 228, Waseca Senior Citizens, Telephone Pioneers of America, and a life member of the Communications Workers of America.
She is survived by her daughter Denise Manthe of Waseca, and her son Greg (Sonja) Thomson of Waterville; by her sister Mary Jane Gehring of Waseca; by five grandchildren, Nathan Manthe, Krysta Manthe, Rachel Stockwell, Shalaine Thomson and Kyia Thomson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her brothers Sylvester Donovan and Damian Donovan, her sister Lucille Greeney, and her son-in-law Steve Manthe.
