Arthur Mork
Memorial Services for Arthur Mork, 90, a long time resident of Mankato who Interment with military honors will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Mr. Mork born in November of 1918 in Marshall, MN. He attended school in Russell MN. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Engineers, 727th Railway Operating Battalion, Company A, on the front in North Africa, Italy, Sicily, France and Germany from 1942 through 1945. After the war he moved to Mankato were he began working in heavy construction. In May of 1948 he death by his wife Evelyn, one brother and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be sent to V.I.N.E. Faith In Action, or by becoming a V.I.N.E. volunteer.
Anna Kough
Fort Fairfield, Maine & Mankato, MN – Anna Mary Kough, 102, born August 11, 1908, in Wayland, Missouri, the oldest child of Anna Dee (Porter) and Henry Fredrick Kircher. Ann was educated in the Wayland Public School and graduated from Keokuk High School, Keokuk, Iowa, in June 1926. Her education continued at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and she then transferred to and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, with a degree in music education. It was there that she continued to do graduate work during the summer. Ann pledged and was initiated in Phi Mu Sorority. Her first teaching job took her to Belle Fourche, South Dakota, in 1930. During her seven years as a music teacher in that school system, she directed operettas and started a harmonica band. In the fall of 1937, Ann moved to Austin, Minnesota to become the elementary music supervisor. She continued in that position until 1941. After moving to Mankato, Minnesota, Ann continued to teach piano lessons privately in her home until she was 80 years old. In Austin, Minnesota, she met First National Bank assistant cashier and bank examiner Bernard William “Buzz” Kough. They were passing.
Friends may call Monday, August 8, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Centenary Methodist Church, Mankato, Minnesota where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dean Wolf officiating. Cemetery, Mankato, MN. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will take place at the Centenary Methodist Church, immediately after the died, Friday, July 8, 2011 as the result of a motorcycle accident at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
Family graveside service will be held Tuesday at Pilgrim's Rest born April 16, 1981 in St. Paul to Robert and Sandra (Lund) Davis. He worked various jobs as a roofer. Robert enjoyed motorcycling, fishing, and spending time with friends.
Robert is survived by his mother, Sandra Davis of Madison Lake; sister, Christina Davis of Madison Lake; grandfather, Robert Davis of Newport, MN; godparents, Luci and Tom Bowen of Madison Lake; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Robert was loved by his family.
He was preceded in died Saturday, July 9, 2011 in North Mankato surrounded by his loving family.
born July 6, 1924 to Edward and Janetta (Blowers) Shaffer in Winnebago, MN. He grew up on their small farm on the edge of town in Winnebago. He graduated from Winnebago High School. After high school he enlisted in the US Army and served most of World War II in the Philippines. Irving met the love of his life, Marie Nelson when he came back to Winnebago in 1947. Irving was united in marriage on June 6, 1948. She was 17 he was 23. The Lord blessed them with three boys and one girl.
Irving and Marie loved the Lord and joined Grace Baptist church in 1961. Irv especially liked the Bible study class that was taught by Pastor Michel.
He worked for 27 years as a painter for school district #77. They nicknamed him “Rembrandt” because he was such a perfectionist painter.
Irv had a quick wit and a joyful existence. He loved God, his family, hunting, and fishing. Irving and Marie spent many hours in their little boat they called the “tin tub”.
Irv and Marie made their home in Mankato/North Mankato area for many years. They were death by two sons, Randy and Michael; one sister, Crystal.
Roberta C. (Langdon) Wohlrabe
Roberta C. (Langdon) Wohlrabe, age 93, Cemetery, Amboy. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
She was married at Mt. Olive on August 10, 1940. In 1943, Lawrence and Roberta moved to Amboy and began their lifelong partnership in farming. While Roberta admitted to the difficult transition from ‘city girl' to ‘farm wife', she quickly embraced her new role and community and Lawrence's extended family. They raised three children while farming in the Amboy and Winnebago areas, were actively engaged in the ministries of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amboy, and supported their children's educations in the Amboy and Winnebago schools and beyond.
Roberta's love of God was manifested in her devotion to her spouse, children, parents and in-laws, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her family, Roberta's identity was closely linked with the land, and she was even named the Amboy-area “Farm Wife of the Year.” Her partnership in farming was ‘hands on' and extensive – from care of livestock to operating nearly all farm equipment and, once again, managing the ‘business office'.
Lawrence death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; two brothers, William and Robert; and one sister, Margaret.

Everett D. Flatt, age 78 of Le Center, Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed toward the American Heart Assoc. or the American Diabetes Assoc. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
