Benjamin Troy and Jaxon Calcutt Lau
Twin Son’s of Troy and Tammy (Sack) Lau were born at 11:47 a.m. weighing 7.2 ounces and Jaxon was died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Faribault Commons Care Center.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour Chapel in Faribault, with Deacon Bonnie Holt, Officiating. Inurnment will be in the Cathedral Columbarium.
Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.
Beverly Alice Michaels, the daughter of John and Alice (Osterlund) Michaels, was married Louis Anderson on February 14, 1951 in St. Paul. She worked at 3M prior to being a devoted homemaker for her family and later worked at Montgomery Wards. Beverly was a member of The Sewing Club for many years, which includes current members, Jan Hess and Lu Larsen. She also was an artist, producing many paintings. Beverly and Louis have lived in Faribault for the past 10 years.
She is survived by her husband, Louis of Faribault; daughter, Suzanne Anderson and husband Chris Dorman of Shakopee, MN; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in died on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Lake Shore Inn, Waseca.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 27th at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Martin Schaefer officiating. Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Monday afternoon for one hour prior to services at church. There will be a 5:00 p.m. parish prayer service Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
Raymond Richard was death by his wife Marjorie of 66 years, on April 10, 2009 and his daughter Jeanne Ann Manke on August 10, 2008; by his parents; by his brothers John (Helen) Gleason, Leo (Winnifred) Gleason, William (Dorothy) Gleason, and James Gleason; by his sisters Marie (Joe) Wheelock, Ellen Gleason, and Margaret (George) Minske.
Evelyn (Armstrong) Welch
Evelyn Marie (Armstrong) Welch, esteemed matriarch of her large and diverse family and long-time resident of Waseca and Mankato, embarked on her next adventure on Saturday, June 20, 2009 in Minneapolis, After a rich and long life--during which she wore each and every experience with hats, glamour, and class—she has gone on to join her beloved husband of 45 years, Robert V. Welch, who preceded her in Born May 30, 1917 to Joseph and Rose (Amberg) Armstrong, Evie graduated from John Ireland Catholic and Central High schools, St. Peter, Minnesota. And while living and working in Waseca, met the man-of-her-dreams, marrying Robert (Bob) Welch on February 6, 1937 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Peter. Together over the next 20 years, they built a life filled with an ever-growing family, church and community activism and volunteering, and a loving network of life-long friends.
A volunteer in various community organizations and local schools, she was a longtime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of America, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. She was a loyal supporter of Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago, the Christian Children’s Fund, Covenant House, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, American Heart Association, and St. Jude’s Research.
Evelyn was a lover of life in all of its forms. Square dancing and riding carousels into her 80s, until she was felled by her first of three bouts with leukemia, she continued to sashay to the tune of dancing flowers until the very last moment. An avid bridge player who loved to entertain and truly believed that the party was never over.
Sympathetic, understanding, and the first to lend a helping hand, she loved her peonies and roses, laughter, music, and old movies. She embraced every new experience—from the exotic to rugged—with a sense of humor and adventure. She loved to travel, play Scrabble with her girls, and share her love of storytelling with every grandchild and young person—great and small.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Tuesday afternoon for one hour prior to services, at church. There will be a 4:30 Catholic Daughter Rosary, and a 7:00 p.m. parish prayer service Monday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her children Robert (Bob) Welch, Jr. of Garrison, Barbara Welch of Mankato, Mary Armstrong Welch (Caren Gaytko) of Minneapolis, and Terri Armstrong Welch of Minneapolis. She also will be long-remembered and forever in the hearts of her 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, her sisters LaJune Hall and Rose Skramstad, brother Gerald (Jerry) McCabe, dozens of nieces and nephews, and many other young people whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lukes Church in Faribault with the Rev. Aaron Brockmeier, officiating. Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to St. Lukes Church in Faribault.
Frederick Ingvar Grothe was married Anna Roeglin, and worked as a blacksmith. Fred had one older sister, Margaret. When Fred was six years old the family moved to Zumbrota, MN, and then back to Faribault when Fred was in high school. He graduated from Faribault High School, class of 1938.
On December 13, 1942, Fred and Dorothy Nichols, a 1939 graduate of Faribault High School, were death by his parents and his sister, Margaret Kroll.
Dayne Haslip
Mankato resident, Dayne Haslip, age 46, born December 6, 1962 in Mankato to Clyde Haslip and Thelma Roben. He was a self-employed carpenter. Dayne enjoyed going to the races with his brother, Damon, barbequing with his friend Cindy White, Vikings and Twins games, and being on his computer. He also loved to fish, especially on the gulf with friends.
Dayne is survived by his parents, Thelma Roben and Clyde (Hanne) Haslip all of Mankato; brothers, Darin (Sandy) Haslip of Madelia, Damon (Kari) Haslip of Waseca; sisters, Robin (Gary) Hodapp of Madison Lake, Tammy (special friend Randy) Dittrich of Mankato, Kim (Buck) Hubbard of San Diego, CA; good friends, Mary Sarnowski and Cindy White of Mankato; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; brother, Brad, sisters, Peg and Cindra.
