VERA SYLVIA (VEE) LARSON
VERA SYLVIA (VEE) LARSON, age 90 of Waterville Born in Linden Township, rural Hanska, Minnesota on October 17, 1918, she was the eldest child of Theodore and Tina (Strom) Vee. Vera death by her parents, one sister-Jeanette, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held at the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 4-8 PM and continue on Saturday one hour before services at the church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville with Rev. David Mumme officiating. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 2:30 PM at Linden Lutheran Cemetery Fund in Hanska.
Peter J. Hollerich
Peter Joseph Hollerich, age 86, of Good Thunder, Cemetery in rural Good Thunder. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, VINE Faith in Action, or Natural Surroundings Adult Daycare.
Peter was married to Bernette K. Gangstee on February 17, 1947 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lake Crystal. They raised ten children and continued to live and farm in the Good Thunder area. Peter was a life-long member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He loved the woods and river. Peter went deer hunting, bear hunting, fishing, went to exotic animal sales and raised buffalo for over 20 years. He always had a story to tell. Peter enjoyed playing cards with the Vernon Center card club and playing poker on Sunday afternoons with his brothers and brothers-in-law. He was very proud of his ten children. He enjoyed family get-togethers with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Peter lived at Oaklawn Health Care Center since March 2008 where the staff kept very good care of him.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Bernette Hollerich of Good Thunder; eight daughters, Mary (Roger) Scheurer of Kasota, Joan (Jim) Robbins of Owatonna, Barb (Mike) Lynch of Kasota, Sue (Calvin) Baarts of Vernon Center, Kathy (Larry) Caven of Amboy, Teresa (Mark) Depuydt of St. Clair, Nancy Hollerich of Mankato, and Lori (Scott) Friedrichs of Rapidan; two sons, Don Hollerich of Portland, OR and Dave (Pam) Hollerich of Good Thunder; thirty grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Peterson of North Mankato and Roseanne (Norm) Carlson of Mankato; a sister-in-law, Delores Dreke of St. James; also many nieces and nephews.
Peter was preceded in died, Sunday, May 24, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2009 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato with Rev. John Wilmot officiating. Burial will be in Calvary born January 18, 1933 in Madison Lake, Minnesota to Cruz & Eulalia (Mazuka) Padilla. Jessie attended school in the Mankato area. She worked at H.L. Green before marrying Pedro De Santiago on March 17, 1956 at St.Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Mankato. Jessie was a devoted wife and mom. In January 1979, Jessie accepted a job the with the Paul and Dorothy Radichel Family forging a lifelong friendship with Dorothy. Jessie was an active and faithful member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Jessie had a great capacity to love as her name meant the "Grace of God". Jessie had great faith. Jessie had much in her person and heart to give to others and she did. Jessie and her home were a sanctuary for her family. Family was very important to Jessie. All of her children, each of her grandchildren and each of her great grandchildren participated in her care since her diagnosis in January. This is a testament to Jessie and how much she invested in all of her family. Jessie loved to read, garden and plant flowers, she loved watching birds and collecting bird items. Jessie has gone home to be with the Father. She will have forever smiles, joy, laughter and peace. She will be GREATLY missed!!
Jessie is lovingly adored by children - Carmen Kramer, Tony (Amy) De Santiago, Gloria (Boyd Nelson) De Santiago and Carolyn/Carrie (Dan) Frassel, Grandchildren - Jason (Paige) Kramer, Emily (Torrey) Rand, Valerie (Brian) Bentdahl, Dustin De Santiago, Dallas (John) Starke, Nicole Cords, Jennifer Diaz and Thomas Frassel. Great Grandchildren - Nick Vanderhoof, Tyler, Kaden and Chase Bentdahl, Tristen De Santiago, Jackson Starke and anticipated Baby Kramer. Jessie's siblings - Pete (Amalia) Padilla, Cruz (Vi) Padilla, Moses (Sue) Padilla, Adele Jacobs, Rudy (Gloria) Garcia, Angie Garcia. Lifelong friends -Duane & Swede Bengtson and special friends - the 66 Gang. Caregiver -Becky Anton, Terri DeGezelle and the Block Ladies. She was preceded in died on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Heritage House Elder Care in Faribault.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 13th at 7:00 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca with Rev. Roger W. Haug officiating. Cemetery, Waseca.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 p.m. until the hour of service, at McRaith Funeral Home.
Betty Lou was death by her parents; by her husband on July 19, 1977, and her son Ronald Fredrick at infancy.
Elizabeth (Meister) Roehrich
Elizabeth A. (Meister) Roehrich, age 80, of Faribault, Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the funeral home on Tuesday for one hour prior to services.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to The Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour.
Elizabeth Ann Meister, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Scuer) Meister, was death by her parents.
Elizabeth was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She loved, cherished and was totally devoted to her husband Lyle for over 60 years.
Jill Berry
Jill R. Berry, age 39, of rural Janesville, Interment will be in the church born on March 11, 1970 in Mankato, Minnesota to Herman and Doris (Erdman) Guse. She was baptized on March 29, 1970 and confirmed on May 6, 1984, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Jill graduated from Janesville High School in 1988. She attended Rochester Community College for two years, then two years at M.S.U. where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She was united in marriage to Paul George Berry Sept. 2, 1995 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Jill and Paul have lived in the Janesville Area throughout their marriage. Jill has held different positions for various Taylor Corporation companies. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Jill had participated in American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life the last several years. She enjoyed scrap booking, and time spent with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Paul and two daughters Rachel (8) and Sophia (6); by her four brothers Ervin Guse, Melvin Guse, Howard (Kristi) Guse, and Russell (Jen) Guse, all of Janesville, and her seven sisters Mavis (Steve) Klein of Waseca, Barb (Tom) Souvie of Owatonna, Joan Guse of Apple Valley, Lenore (Larry) Schmit of Holdingford, Helen Guse of St. Louis Park, Bernice (Rod) Harman of Brooklyn Park, Shirley Guse and Jeff Helbach of Grand Junction, CO; by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roland and Helen Berry of Waseca; by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Richard (Kathy) Berry of Janesville, Lori (John “Woody”) Underwood of Waseca, Edward (Kathy) Berry of Altura, Daniel Berry of Waseca, Thomas (Jamie) Berry of Rochester, and Lynn (Pal) Beutz of Eau Claire, WI; by her step-mother Shirley Winter and her step-brothers; by many nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father Herman Guse on March 26, 2009 and her mother Doris Guse on August 2, 1993; by her brother Glen Guse on December 5, 1990.
Casketbearers are: Dale Ewert, Chris Schuch, Wayne Gottschalk, Mike Mittelsteadt, Al Halstead, and Brian Mittelstaedt.
