Florence (Bosacker) Berndt
Florence W. Berndt, age 89 of Janesville, Interment will be in the St. John’s-Trinity Lutheran born May 20, 1922 in Iosco Township, Waseca County, Minnesota to Henry and Ethel (Warner) Bosacker. She was baptized on March 30, 1926 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at German Lake, and confirmed on June 6, 1937 at English Lutheran Church in Marshall. Florence was united in marriage to Oscar F. Berndt at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville on February 19 1949. Florence and Oscar resided in Janesville their entire death by her parents, and her husband Oscar; by her three sisters Alice (Edgar) Heilman, Margaret (Victor) died Monday, August 1, 2011 at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague. Visitation will be held at Le Center Funeral Home on Thursday, August 4, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral services will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center on Saturday, August 6 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Clear Lake born in Le Center on February 12, 1932 to Ray and Erva (VanBuren) Johnson. He attended school in Le Center. He hauled milk for 18 years then operated Johnson Bus Lines for 23 years, selling to Palmer Bus Service in 2007. Max also operated Max Johnson Trucking with a current fleet of 30 trucks and was part owner of Castle Rock Materials, a quarry in Randolph.
He enjoyed time with his grand kids at his home by the pool.
Max is survived by four children, Gary (Connie) Johnson of Le Center, Tonya (Doug) Pomije of New Prague, Jeff (Peggy) Johnson of Le Center, and Lori Johnson of Arizona; special friend, Rosie Uhlir of Le Center; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; five sisters, Margie Braun of Minnetonka, Jeanie Tolzman of Waterville, Suzie Kendall of St. Peter, Cindy Osborne of Arlington, and Janie Blaschko of Le Center; and three brothers, Wayne Johnson of Le Sueur, Rick Johnson of Waseca, and Clete Johnson of Le Center.
He is preceded in died on Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his family.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 15, 2011 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Matthew Rauh officiating. Burial will be at Greenhill born on September 4, 1937 in Lexington Township, LeSueur County to Oscar and Muriel (Christian) Braun. He was united in marriage to Diane Engesser on July 20, 1979. He made his home in St. Peter and worked for 36 years as a security counselor at the MN Security Hospital in St. Peter and 26 years at Northwestern Bell in St. Peter.
Rich's life was his family. He was a sports fanatic, especially when the sports involved his children and grandchildren. Rich loved being at the cabin on Lake Washington, having coffee with friends at Whiskey River, fishing, motorcycling, traveling and winters in Mexico.
Surviving him are his wife: Diane; children: Teri (Mark) Spence, Brad (Ann), Brian (Kari), Cheryl (Pat) Welch and Robert (Denise); step children: Dick (Julie) Myhra, Lori Myhra, Kris Myhra, Mike (Medea) Myhra and Trudy (Joe) Thelemann; 25 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings: Russ (Jo), Clinton (Marge), Al (Becky) and Nancy; sisters-in-law: Emie and Betty; and mother-in-law: Grace Paquette.
He was preceded in died peacefully Sunday August 7th, 2011 at Oaklawn Health Care Center surrounded by his family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SS.Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday August 10 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Mariano Valera, IVE officiating. Burial will be in Calvary born January 14, 1936 to Thomas T. and Clara C. (Olson) Eggers in Detroit Lakes MN He moved with his family to Mankato in 1946. Dean graduated from Mankato High School in 1954 and joined the US Army where he served from 1955-58. Dean was united in marriage to Clara Limon on April 8, 1961 at SS. Peter Paul Catholic Church and had just celebrated 50 years of wedded life. He was employed by Continental Can Co, which later became Crown Cork and Seal for over 42 years before retiring in 1999. After retirement he worked for Lagers as a courtesy van driver for several years. He then worked in construction for Frank Selvey helping to build some of the townhouses. His hobbies included wood working, remodeling, camping, canoeing, deer hunting, cross-country skiing, long walks on the beach while vacationing in Mexico, and playing cards and other games. His family was the most important part for him and he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.
His skills in remodeling projects landed him with the Wrecking Crew from SS. Peter & Paul Church where they work on anything and everything that needs fixing at the church.
Dean is survived by his wife Clara of North Mankato; three children, Patricia Dykema and special friend, Wayne McGuire of Mankato, Mark Eggers and special friend, Donna Cyr of Minneapolis, and Daniel (Mary) Eggers of Vadnais Heights; four grandchildren, Joseph Dykema, Jonathon Dykema, Justine Eggers, and Maria Eggers; and great-granddaughter, Tadim Kahnke; two siblings, Darrel Eggers and Barbara (William) Miller all of Mankato, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Dean was preceded in died Thursday, August 4, 2011 in North Mankato. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato with the Rev. Dr. Scott E. Olson, officiating. born July 20, 1982 in Mankato, Minnesota the son of Karen Kaye Pronk. After graduating Mankato East High School he attended Minnesota State University, Mankato. Nathan worked as a shift leader for FLS Connect. He was an avid sports fan and especially followed the Twins and Vikings.
He is survived by his parents, Karen Pronk (Steve Krone); daughter, Cora; sons, Caden and Nathan; sister, Mackenzie Pronk; grandmother, Betty Krone; many aunts, uncles and cousins; he is also survived by his fincee, Alex Demarais. Nathan was preceded in passed away August 8, 2011 at Benedictine Living Community of St. Peter. A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and will continue 1 hour before services in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, Jean’s family would prefer donations to Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato, Hospice in her name.
“Jeanie” was married and raised four children. She worked as a paraprofessional for School District #77 retiring after 31 years. Jeanie death by her parents; son, Dennis; sisters, Elaine, Shirley and Joyce; brothers, Warren and Thomas.
Rosemary A. Karow
Rosemary A. Karow, age 50, of Faribault, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at her son’s home in Janesville.
Memorial services in Walker, Minnesota are being planned, and will be announced later. Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville is handling arrangements.
Katherine is survived by her son Helmut and Lou Gusts of Janesville.
