Ronald E. Gauger

RONALD EDWIN GAUGER, age 72 of Waseca Born in Wheaton, Minnesota on July 28, 1931, he was the son of Russell and Evelyn (Erickson) Gauger. He graduated from Wheaton High School in 1949 and the University of Minnesota in 1954. He death by his parents and one brother, Dean.

Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca on Thursday, March 25, 2004 from 4-7 PM and continue on Friday one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 26, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Roger W. Haug officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Interment in Pilgrim’s Rest born on August 17, 1914 to John and Amelia (Biesterfeld) Gosch in Walnut Lake, MN. Evelyn grew up in the Mankato area, attended school in Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School in 1933. She passed away.

Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother always welcoming her children and grandchildren to share her love with her kitty, “Cuddles”. She loved baking and cooking for everyone, knitting, crocheting, gardening, playing cards and of course, the Minnesota Twins. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. One of her greatest joys was dancing with her husband to old time music, which in their younger days was a weekly outing.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Harold; a daughter, Shirley M. Hanson, North Mankato; three sons, Harold Jr., Janesville, Harlan (Joan), North Mankato, Steven, Madison Lake; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Adeline Evelman, Reynolds Burg, OH; sister-in-law, Babe Gosch, North Mankato; daughter-in-law, Sue Lanz; former daughter-in-law, Carol Lanz; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Evelyn was preceded in born December 15, 1929 in Mankato. She grew up in rural St. Clair and graduated from St. Clair High School in 1947. She worked for the St. Clair Telephone Company and later Mankato Citizens Telephone Company prior to her marriage February 14, 1953 to Richard Goebel at St. Clair. They made their home in rural Mankato where she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter & Paul's Catholic Church and Helping Hands and Extension Club. She loved to cook, garden, take care of her grandchildren and extended family, bowling, and her monthly card club. Her family will greatly miss Mom's Sunday noon dinners.

Survivors include her husband Richard; her children, Dave and wife Deb of Montevideo, Greg and wife Dawn of Mapleton, Dan and wife Sue, Tim, Paul, Lisa Rempfer and husband Jay all of Mankato, Jim and wife Nicole of North Mankato, Mark and wife Stacie of Brooklyn Park and John of Mapleton and special friend Carol Skaja; grandchildren, Amie, Jeremy, and Christina Goebel, Nicole and Jacob Goebel, Chris and Ben Goebel, Christina and Alison Rempfer, Emma and Nicolas Goebel, Morgan and Mia Goebel; sisters, Phyllis Hall of Remer, Clarice Shaw of Pemberton and Carol Lafeyette and husband Harlan of Janesville; a brother Bob Hodapp of Mankato; brothers-in-law Jerome Goebel and wife Barbara of Milton, FL and Leon Goebel of Mankato; and a sister-in-law Norma Hodapp of Owatonna. Eileen was preceded in passed away Saturday, March 20, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Mankato. born on December 15, 1911, to Emil and Emilie (Pfal) Steinberg in Lumen, Germany. He came to the United States with his parents in 1912. On April 7, 1940, he death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Lillian Ellie Johnson

North Mankato resident, Lillian Johnson, age 77, born April 2, 1926 in New Sweden, Minnesota in Nicollet County. She moved with her family to St. Peter, and in 1950 moved to North Mankato. Lillian worked as a hairdresser for many years. She was a very active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Mankato.

She is survived by numerous cousins and many friends.

Bryan Buckner

Bryan K. Buckner, age 39 of New Ulm was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester.

He served 3 years in the Army from 1984 to 1987.

Bryan is survived by his fiancé, Margarita Engelhardt of New Ulm, his mother, Marilyn Noble and 2 sisters Ursula and Tracy Buckner all of San Antonio, Texas; 4 stepdaughters, Pamela Roiger, Tina and Julia Engelhardt all of New Ulm and Sherry Roiger of Mankato; 1 stepson Francisco Roiger of Mankato; two step-grandchildren, AJ Netzke of New Ulm and Luiz Carrasco of Mankato; a niece Tracy Brown of San Antonio and a nephew Dominique Massey of Lorain, Ohio, and dear friend Elaine Gustafson of Prior Lake.

He was preceeded in died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at Mankato Lutheran Home in Mankato.

Private services were held at Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Wayne Eichstadt of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Cemetery. Memorials were preferred to an organization of the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Ritt was married at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mrs. Ritt was united in marriage to Edward W. “Eddie” Ritt on May 29, 1938 in Mankato. Susie had worked for Rosenberger and Currier Candy Company and for Mocol’s Grocery. Susie enjoyed taking care of family, going to auctions, collecting, reading, watching Minnesota sporting events and reminiscing about historical times and places in Mankato.

Mrs. Ritt is survived by six greatnieces and greatnephews, Kathryn and Paul Durenberger, William Nelson, Richard “Skinner” Nelson all of Mankato, Patricia, Ted, Charlie Knowles; five great-greatnephews; one great-greatniece; one great-great-greatnephew; and other important people in Susie’s life include Robert Simmonds, Susan Nelson and Deb Morriem. She was preceded in died Monday, March 22, 2004 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2004 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Rev. Patrick Arens officiating. Cemetery, Madison Lake. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Mr. Terrell was married Margaret F. Milbrath on February 25, 1941 in Waterville. Ralph served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. Ralph farmed and worked for Brown Construction Co., Lovett Blacktop Plant in Savage as a foreman/operator, James Brothers and Farmer’s Co-op in Elysian. He was a lifelong farmer, mechanic and an avid card player. He attended All Saints Catholic Church. Ralph was a member of American Legion Post #269 of Madison Lake, Moose Lodge of Mankato, 49er’s Union, and ARC.

Survived by 14 children, Fayette (Harry Jr.) Misner, Kay (Robert) Coopman, Joan Silbaugh, Penny Terrell, Ralph H. (Carrie) Terrell, Margaret (Ed) Lessick, Elizabeth Terrell, Blair Terrell, Patrick Terrell, Judith (Robert) O’Malley, Timothy (Robin) Terrell, Christine Terrell, Jeanne (Timothy) Duke, Maureen Terrell; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Ruth Weber, Donna Dvoracek, Lee (Sandy) Terrell; many nephews, nieces and cousins. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, grandson, Brian Scholtes, granddaughter, and a brother, Daniel.
