FAYE MOLINE PETERSON
Faye Moline Peterson, 74, died July 16, 2005 at her home in Jupiter, Minnesota to the late Charles Moline and Sylvia Seppanen Moline. She graduated from Barnum High School in 1949 and was married to the late Dale Peterson of Carlton, Florida for over 23 years.
She is survived by her children: Katie (Sean) Rice of Irvine, Florida; and Ross Peterson, of Tampa, Minnesota; and grandchildren, Hallie and Addie Kraemer and Neal Rice.
Services will be held Saturday, August 6 at 2:00 PM at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Kettle River. Pastor Don Bisala will officiate. Interment will follow in Leonard Cemetery.
MYRTLE C. ENGWER
Myrtle C. Engwer of Barnum, age 81, passed away on July 26, 2005, at Mercy Health Care Center in Moose Lake. She was born to Herman and Amelia Ninefeldt on January 28, 1924. She married Donald Engwer on May 28, 1950. She was employed at a few factories in the Twin Cities, then she was employed at Stearn’s Sewing factory and later at General Andrews Tree Nursery.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Engwer, and her daughter, Lynn Engwer of Barnum.
There will be no memorial service on request of her husband.
ALBERT CHADA
Albert Chada was the fifth child in a family of six children born to John and Celia (Frisby) Chada on a farm in Sargent County, North Dakota in 1933 and entered the U.S. Army Infantry at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on January 10, 1938. They have three sons; John and wife Jude of Cross Lake, MN, Tom and wife, Jane of Cottage Grove and Dennis and wife, Gloria of St. Paul, MN. There are three grandchildren; James and Alan (sons of John and Jude) and Brenda (daughter of Dennis and Gloria). Albert was a state licensed steam fitter and proud of his 50-year association with the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada.
He culminated his working career as an instructor of apprentices. Albert and Mildred enjoyed 68 years of married life together and 25 years of wonderful retirement. He may be remembered as a write of the Wild River Notes for the Pine County Courier newspaper. Albert passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the Pine Medical Center in Sandstone at the age of 89 years.
In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Albert is also survived by a brother, Tom (Margaret) of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Mary Wrucke of Naples, FL and Eleanor Persinger of Fairmont; also many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Albert Chada were held Saturday, August 6, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Methven Funeral Home in Sandstone with father Al Henger officiating. Organist was Bea Drilling. Following the funeral service, an Open House was held at the Senior Center in Sandstone in celebration of Albert's life. Interment at State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Arrangements by Methven Funeral Home, Sandstone, MN.
ALBERT CHADA

Albert met and married Mildred Tauer in St. Paul, MN, on January 10, 1938. They have three sons: John and wife, Jude, of Cross Lake, MN; Tom and wife, Jane, of Cottage Grove and Dennis and wife, Gloria, of St. Paul, MN. There are three grandchildren: James and Alan (sons of John and Jude) and Brenda (daughter of Dennis and Gloria).

MARGARET ELIZABETH SMITH
Margaret Elizabeth Smith, 92, of Cloquet died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005 in Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet. She was born Sept. 22,1912 in Grantsburg, WI, to Oscar and Anna (Gardin) Franseen. She grew up and attended school in Carlton. Margaret married Albert Smith on March 2, 1931 in Carlton. From 1961 through 1977, she worked for the Cloquet schools as a custodian and a cook. Margaret was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, LWML, Ladies Quilting Club, and many other church activities. She was also a member of the Retired Cooks Luncheon Group and helped to deliver meals on wheels. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, playing cards, and cooking.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; daughter-in-law, Ingrid Smith; brothers: Oscar, Norman, Harold, and Dick Franseen; and sister, Astrid Franseen.
She is survived by three sons: , Leo of Proctor, Gerald (Berty) of Barnum, and Albert “Skip” (Mary) of Phoenix; three daughters: Yvonne (Bob) Peterson of Wright, Myrna (Dean) Knight of Denver, CO, and Peggy (Bob) DeCaigny of Cloquet; sister, Tillie Franseen Caron of Vancouver, WA; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Visitation continued from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005 in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church 515 Skyline Blvd. in Cloquet. Burial was at 2 p.m. in Forest Hill Cemetery in Cromwell. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. LOIS RAE KLUND
Lois Rae Klund, beloved wife and mother, 78, of Duluth died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 23,1926 in Duluth to Ray and Ann (Gilberg) LaCrosse. She graduated from Denfeld High School. Lois married Kenneth G. Klund on June 23, 1946 and their 52-year marriage represented a deep love and commitment to each other. She was active in PTA, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Job’s Daughters Bethel 21. Lois was an avid reader and enjoyed baking, traveling, camping, fishing and spending time with her family and grand-dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents and devoted husband, Kenneth.
Lois is survived by her three children: Randy of Hermantown; Stephanie of Duluth and Holly of Moose Lake; and her special friends: Paula Priem of Omaha, NE, Jim Martin and Kim and Michelle Hooey of Duluth.
Lois was a devoted and loving wife and mother who was cherished by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A private memorial service, per Lois’ wishes, was held by her family. Services entrusted to the Cremation Society of Iowa to Herman and Amelia (Frances) Ninefeldt. Myrtle and her family moved to Rosemont. In 1935, Myrtle moved to Skelton Township where she attended Barnum High School and helped her family farm and cut pulpwood. On May 28, 1950, Myrtle married Donald Engwer in Northwood, Iowa. They lived in the Twin Cities until 1954 when they returned to Skelton Township and continued to farm and cut pulpwood. Myrtle also worked for Stearns in Carlton and was a seasonal worker at General Andrews Nursery for over 18 years. She loved flowers and bird watching.
Myrtle was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Ray, Ernie, Dick, Bud, and Bob; and 3 sisters: Edna, Irene, and Marjorie.
She will be lovingly remembered by her loving husband and best friend for over 55 years, Donald; a daughter, Lynn Engwer of Barnum and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no services and private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
BENJAMIN W. LUMBY
Benjamin W. Lumby, 90, of Columbia Heights, was born Aug. 16, 1914 in Barnum, MN, the son of Charles and Hilda Lumby. He graduated from Barnum High School and served in the Air Force in World War II. He married Ingrid Ohlgren in 1946. He worked for Marshall/Wells and Lyle Signs for many years.
He died on Sunday, July 24, 2005, at a Fridley hospital.
Services were held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cemetery, St. Anthony Blvd., on Thurs., July 28, 2005, at 2 p.m.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Lumby; and sisters Hazel Cartford, Marie Strandberg, and Irene Nichols.
Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by brothers-in-law, Ralph (Lorna) Ohlgren and Clifford Strandberg, and sister-in-law, Arvilla Ohlgren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
ANTHONY “TONY” DERUNGS
Anthony “Tony” DeRungs, 79, Willow River, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake after a sudden short illness. He was born on February 6, 1926 to Joseph and Rosa (Zappl) DeRungs in Kettle River Township, Pine County, where he grew up and attended Willow River High School. Tony was an Army Veteran of WWII. After the service, Tony returned to Kettle River Twp. where he farmed. On August 2, 1947, Tony married Deloris Kiminski in Willow River. In 1953, Tony began working for the Moose Lake State Hospital as a Rehab Counselor, retiring in 1989. Tony loved to spend time with his family and friends. He also loved to read and spend time outside working on his farm. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Finlayson.
Tony was preceded in death by a daughter, Barb Breth; a son, Bob DeRungs; a granddaughter, Lucy McDonald; his parents: Tony and Rosa DeRungs; and three brothers: John DeRungs, Clarence DeRungs and Lawrence DeRungs.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Deloris; two sons: Jim (Barb) DeRungs of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Tom (Terry) DeRungs of Willow River; six daughters: Mary Ann (Wayne) Johnson of Rutledge; Betty (Jim) Kosloski of Willow River; Joanne (Rich) Frahm of St. Paul; Judy (Lew) Mlaskoch of Willow River; Marge (Tony) Lefto of St. Paul; and Toni (Jim) McDonald of Eagan; a brother, Leo (Aggie) DeRungs of Sandstone; two sisters: Barla Rudebeck of Moose Lake and Mary (Mony) Bennett of Willow River; 22 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 AM on Friday, August 19, 2005 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Finlayson. Father Al Henger was the celebrant. Joy Novak provided the music. Casket Bearers were Eric Haedt, Tony Haedt, Andy DeRungs, Jason Johnson, Joe DeRungs, Thomas Kosloski, Richie Frahm, Lewie Mlaskoch, Rodney Mlaskoch and Will McDonald. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Willow River. Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
