Clinton "Kissy" Morris Veilleux
Clinton "Kissy" Morris Veilleux, 80, of Wrenshall, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Inter Faith Care Center in Carlton.
He was born June 9, 1925 in Cloquet to Morris and Alma (Eng) Veilleux and graduated from Wrenshall High School.
Kissy was united in marriage to Margaret Grover on Sept. 28, 1946 in Carlton, and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this next September. He lived in Wrenshall for over 50 years and worked for numerous companies including Benkoski and Holmes Construction, Cloquet Ready mix, E.W. Coons of Hibbing, and Warren Steen Gravel of Moose Lake; and he also operated a small farm in Wrenshall and the Wrenshall Grocery Store for numerous years.
Kissy loved dancing, hunting and fishing; and he and Margaret were members of several square dance clubs including the Country Travelers of Cloquet, the Story Book Squares of Mission, Texas. Kissy also loved ballroom dancing and danced his way through life, teaching all his family to dance. He was a great husband and father and wonderful provider for his family, and would always led a helping hand to a friend. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1163 of Cloquet; and had served on the Wrenshall School Board and the Carlton County Board of Adjustment.
Kissy was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Avis Dennie; a daughter-in-law, Pam Veilleux, and a great-granddaughter, Lily Alm.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one son, Maurice "Morrie" Veilleux of New Richmond, WI; three daughters, Sharon Culliton of LaPorte, MN, Pam (Allan) Grover of Cloquet, and Sandra (Alan) Kozlik of Otsego, MN; four grand children; three step-granddaughters; eight great grand children; and numerous family members and good friends.
Funeral services are Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Care, with internment services at Hillside Cemetery in Carlton.
CLARA M. HANSON
Clara M. Hanson, 89 of Cromwell, died Thursday, May 25, 2006. She was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota in 1938 with a degree in home economics. She completed courses towards her masters degree in English at UMD. Clara was hired to teach at Cromwell High School in the fall of 1938. She taught at Floodwood High School in 1939 before returning to teach at Cromwell High School for a few years leaving to raise her family of three sons. She returned to teaching at Cromwell High School in 1963 and taught for many more years until retiring in 1987. Clara married Norman Hanson of Cromwell on August 10, 1939 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Minnesota Retired Teacher's Association. Clara enjoyed writing prose and poetry and published a book of her favorite poems in 1987.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Senator Norman Hanson; brothers, Oscar and George Smith; and sisters, Helga and Eunice Smith and Genevieve Cutler.
Clara is survived by her three sons, Norman (Sandra) and Rolf (Jean) Hanson both of Roseville and Hans (Carol) Hanson of Cromwell; her brother, Roger Smith of Anoka; granddaughters, Angela (Craig) Wilson of Corinth, Illinois and Laura Hanson of Anoka; grandsons, Eric (Jody) Hanson of Victoria, Minnesota and Trevor Wilson of Corinth, Wisconsin to Frank and Una (Young) Heavirland. On November 13, 1972, she married Dennis Lee Opperud in Willow River, New York Life Agent and Blue Cross Agent. Earl was a big Vikings and Twins fan and was manager for the Moose Lake Baseball Team. He was a member of Pederson - Maunula American Legion Post #379 of Moose Lake for over 50 years.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents.
Earl is survived by his loving wife Helen of Moose Lake; 1 son, Richard (Marianne Rother) Stein of Edina; 2 daughters, Cherie (Paul) McIntosh of East Maline, IL and Jill (Fred Wirth) Stein-Wirth of Oakley, CA; 5 grandchildren, Emily, Rachel and Michelle Stein and Brent and Drew Wirth.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 1, from 12 until the 1 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake with Father Eamonn Boland as the Celebrant. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake. Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake
CHRISTOPHER C. SANDBERG
Christopher C. Sandberg, 32, Sturgeon Lake, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 in Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald Carey; his paternal grandparents: Clarence and Bernice Sandberg; and his birthmother: Eunice Hart.
Christopher is survived by his four children: Amanda, Ashley, Joshua, and Amber and their mother, Lisa Osterkamp all of Coon Rapids; his parents: Dale and Donna Sandberg of Sturgeon Lake; three brothers: Terry (Rebecca) of Barnum; Ritchie (Sandy) of Moose Lake; and Scott (Colleen) of Willow River; half sister: Patricia Benjamin; nephew: Allen Sandberg of Moose Lake; niece: Meghan Sandberg of Barnum; and his maternal grandmother: Marlis Carey of Moose Lake.
Gathering of Family and Friends wasfrom 1:00 until the 2 PM Memorial Mass Saturday, April 29, 2006 in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Father Eamonn Boland was the celebrant.

ROBERT A. TALARICO
Robert A. Talarico, 50, of Moose Lake, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2006 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 12, 1955 in Minneapolis to Joseph and Vera (Crover) Talarico.
He is preceded in death by his mother; and sister, Toni Monette.
Bob is survived by his wife of 20 years, Pam; father Joe (Lucille) of Big Lake, MN; daughter Melissa of Moose Lake; stepdaughter Stacy (Chris) Angerhofer and their daughter, Ava of Minneapolis; stepson, Jamie Kuusisto of Minneapolis; sisters, Sharon of Inver Grove Heights and Nancy (Rick) of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at his home, 176 Lake Shore Drive in Moose Lake.
Service entrusted to the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
