Stanley J. Tabako
Stanley J. Tabako, Sr., 92, Wright, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born March 10, 1914 in Minneapolis, the son of Antoni and Sophia (Sczocick) Tabaka.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary on July 19, 2002; a son, Anthony Tabako; three brothers and four sisters.
Stanley is survived by four daughters, Kathleen (Chester) Thomas and Rebecca (David) Stenson, both of Wright, Patricia Tabako and Roberta (Tom) Meister, both of Minneapolis; two sons, Stanley, Jr. (Irene) of Caro, MI and Edward in Minnesota, died June 16, 2006 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Craig was born to Clayton and Joan Grabinski on June 20, 1960- in Saint Cloud, Minnesota to be back with his buddies and the lakes that he loved. In 1984, Craig met the love of his life and best friend, Jackie Richardson, daughter of Don and Pam Richardson of Sturgeon Lake. They began their journey together on August 16, 1986 in Denham, MN.
Craig worked as a machinist for many years. In 2003, Craig began his career as a correction officer at Rush City Correctional Facility.
Craig was an outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. He loved his family and spending precious time with them. He loved the Lord and spreading His word. He was a sponsor to a child through the Christian Children's Fund and was a volunteer at the Green Acres Nursing Home.
Craig was preceded in death by his grandparents; Edward and Ida Grabinski and LeRoy and Dorothy Larson. He is survived by Jackie and children; Travis, Derek and Jenna of the family home; his parents, Clayton and Joan Grabinski, brother Gary Grabinski, sisters Vicki (Mike) Pyette and Joy (Charlie) Friends, all of Billings, Montana. And all of his many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 20 at the Grandstrand Funeral Home, North Branch. Services were Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, North Branch with Pastor Loren Mellum officiating.

Melvin R. Soukkala

Melvin R. Soukkala age 79 of Cloquet passed away on July 19, 2007 in Sunnyside Health Care Center, Cloquet. He was born on August 25, 1927 in Cloquet to Edward and Vieno (Salmi) Soukkala. Melvin was a member of the Ironworkers Local #563 and 512 for many years. He is a veteran of the US Army.
Melvin is preceded in death by his son Scott, an infant son Mark, and a brother Paul.
He is survived by his wife Susan, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Memorial Service to celebrate Melvin’s life will be on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at 3 pm in the Handevidt Funeral Home 900 Minnesota, the son of George and Martha (Albino) Nahgahnub he moved to Duluth at an early age and lived in an orphanage from age 12 to 16. He then went to live with Ernest and Pearl Morris on their farm at Kettle River. He attended school at Barnum and graduated the Barnum High School. He then worked a short time before entering the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam. Upon his discharge he returned to Kettle River and continue to farm on the Morris Family farm until his death. He enjoyed the farm, loved animals, playing ball, roller skating, bingo and visiting with everyone.
He is survived by 2 brothers: Mike Nahgahnub of Kettle River; Arnold Nahgahnub of San Francisco, CA; sister: Sheila Simcox of Kettle River, and many neices, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents Pearl and Ernest Morris, 2 sisters: Maryann and Gladys and 1 brother Francis.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. from the McGregor Funeral Home, McGregor with Fr. John Fleischhacker officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery at McGregor. Military honors will be provided by the McGregor VFW Post. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and also 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday. Arrangements are with the McGregor Funeral Home.
Richard Blechinger
Richard Blechinger, 69, died July 27, 2006 of leukemia.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara E., whom he loved for 48 years. He is survived by a son, Douglas (Sue); daughter, Julie (Mike) Dolan, and son, Steven (LaVonne); grandchildren, Amy, Maggie, Cami, Zack, Nick, Alex, Andrea, Shane, Luke; brothers, Robert and Ronald; and a dear sister, Darlene (Larry) Petrey.
Services were held on Tuesday, August 1st at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Moose Lake. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Barnum. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Mary's Hospice.
Karel E. Dockal
Karel E. Dockal 19, Willow River gave years of love and laughter before entering eternal rest on July 24, 2006 in Pine Medical Center, Sandstone. He was born on October 16, 1986 to Mark Dockal and Wendy (Vierkandt) Dockal in Osceola, Ohio, died at Mercy Hospital on July 19 while visiting in the area.
She was born in Duluth to Rudy and Myrtle Wimmer in 1932. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1949. She married Raymond Gerard at Willow River on January 30, 1951. They moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1958.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Bressler of Chandler, AZ; a brother, Rudy "Butch" (Diane) Wimmer of the Gunflint Trail.
Interment and gathering of family and friends to be announced.
