Fern C. Folkestad
Fern Christine (Peterson) Folkestad, 79, of Barnum, passed away August 24, 2006, at Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Royalton Township in Pine County, Oklahoma, formerly of Moose Lake, Iowa. She moved to Rush City in 1945 and attended school there. She married Ronald John Clark in 1959 in Clear Lake, Minnesota. In 1981, Carol and Ronald moved to Ponca City, Minnesota, and Brian Clark of Ponca City, Minnesota; four brothers, Robert (Lois) Pals of Clear Lake, Iowa, Gene (Janet) Pals of Beroun, Minnesota; one sister, Margie (Darwin) Nelson of Clear Lake, Oklahoma, 1904 North Union, Ponca City, OK 74601.
Arrangements were made by Hansen Mankie Funeral Home in Sandstone.
Ralph E. Keller
Ralph E. Keller, 74, Sturgeon Lake, MN died peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, September 10, 2006 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. Ralph was born on May 17, 1932 in Hawthorne, Wisconsin. Ralph served in the U.S. Army from 1952 until 1954 and was stationed in Korea. On June 8, 1957, Ralph married Delores Ketchmark in Sturgeon Lake where they made their home for 41 years. Ralph was employed by Otto Wiesner Inc. and McLean Construction in Minnesota Chapter, 2626 E. 82nd St. Suite 225, Bloomington, MN 55425. Alma Aliina Maki
Alma Aliina Maki, 92, formerly of Esko, died Monday, September 11, 2006 in Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton. She was born February 18, 1914 in Stone of Wright, MN; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many extended family members.
The family would like to extend their grateful appreciation to Dr. Vicki Anderson and the staff of Inter-Faith Care Center for their thoughtful and loving care of Alma.
Visitation was Saturday, September 16, 2006 in Apostolic Lutheran Church, Esko. Burial was in West Branch Cemetery, Kettle River. If preferred, memorials may be made to Inter-Faith Care Center or Apostolic Lutheran Church. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
Louise M.Jacques
Louise Marie Jacques, formerly of Moose Lake, 95, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2006 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born in Superior, WI on July 29, 1911 to Alfred and Marie (Claude) Hilpipre. She was married to Bernard Jacques who passed away in 1978. She worked at Louis Allis in Milwaukee for twenty five years retiring when she was fifty five. She also helped at the Celebrate Labor Day Dinner and Parade in Cloquet.
Survived by her daughter: Ione Keinanen, Brainerd; Her brother: Robert (Jean) Hilpipre, of Solon Springs, WI; Her sister: Roberta Papineau, of Superior, WI;
Two step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter in 1973 and brother, Charles Hilpipre and three sisters, Lena Hallman, Elsie Hilpipre and Nora Perkins.
Services wereheld on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd with Father Kristoffer McKusky officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Crow Wing Township.
Arrangements are with Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home.
