Clemens Edward Hecker Sr. bade farewell to family and friends Saturday September 30th 2006 in Mercy Hospital Moose Lake Mn at the age of 71yrs 1mo. 14days. Clemens was born August 16, 1935 to Clarence Edward and Trilby Genevieve (Sprouse) Hecker at Barnum Mn, and he attended schools in Carlton County. Ever the adventurer and enjoying new experiences he toiled at various forms of employment in various states retiring from advance Machines, Plymouth MN in 1995. He was an avid outdoors person addicted to camping and hunting with fishing as his favorite pastime. He also loved the flea market circuit and helping with community services. He was friendly and helpful to all he met and enjoyed visiting with everyone. He was preceeded in death be his parents and loving wife Patricia Drusilla (Huff) and is survied by step-daughter Dawn Deanna (Huff/Hecker) Tauriainen Winsted Mn; sons, Clemens Edward Hecker, Jr., Wabasha, MN and George Joseph Hecker, Moose Lake Mn. Grandchildren John and Cassie Tauriainen and Granette Hecker. Six siblings Ionia May (William) Novitski, Northwood Ia, Mary Jean (James) Flasch, Zimmerman Mn, Gloria Marie Stoneburner, Barnum Mn, Vernon Louis Hecker, University Place Wa, Lennon Duane (Melva) Hecker, Moose Lake Mn, and Algernon Keith (Rose) Hecker, Anchorage Ak, and others of note Edward John, Rodney Allen, Daniel Keith and Sandra Jean Wallum, their children and grandchildren. Burial Winsted Cemetary, Winsted MN.

Joseph James Langa age 63 of Stacy, MN., passed away on Thursday February 2, 2006 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mildred. He is survived by his aunts Esther (William) Buscko of Cloquet and Doris (Donald) Rozycki of Kingsland, Washington Avenue, Cloquet, 218-879-4636. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Additional services will include a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday February 8, 2006 at 10 am in THE CHURCH OF THE EPIPHANY 11001 Hansen Blvd, Coon Rapids.
Melford G. Anderson

Melford G. Anderson, age 78 of Cloquet, passed away on January 19, 2006 in St. Lukes Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on March 24, 1927 to Bill & Julia (Bradley) Anderson in Erskine, MN.
Melford enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and attending community education classes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Julius Anderson. Melford is survived by his sister Adeline (Oris) Hanson; 5 nieces and nephews; longtime friend Robert Rasen; and his many friends at Pinewood, Inc. of Cloquet.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 from 9:30 until the 10:30 am funeral service in Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Washington Avenue, Cloquet, 218-879-4636. Interment Old Holy Family Cemetery.
John E. Medes

John E. Medes, 91, of Emmett, Idaho, formerly of Boise and Cloquet, MN, passed away March 1, 2006. John was born October 8, 1914, in Spokane, WA, the son of Susan and M.B. Medes. From 1927 until 1989, John lived and worked in Cloquet, Minnesota in hot pursuit of walleyes and pheasant.
In 1989 he moved to Boise to be near his son, Mike, and family. John went back to “school” and earned his Master Gardener’s certificate. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Boise. He also joined the “Happy Hoofers” walking group, became a ballroom dancer, a deadly winemaker, traveled several times to Germany and Belgium to visit his friends there, and in general lived each day to its fullest. His saying “You gotta keep doing what you can do” served him well as a senior citizen.
John loved all green growing things, children and animals. He was the world’s greatest husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, and father-in-law. John is survived by his children Betty Bubb of Ft. Wayne, IN, Mike (Liz) of Boise, ID, and Susan Medes of Lenoir, Washington Ave, Cloquet. Entombment in Sunrise Memorial Park, Hermantown, MN.

Anita R. Gosso

Anita R.Gosso age 33 of Lake Elmo formerly of Oak Park Heights, passed away on Wednesday February 15, 2006 unexpectedly in her home.
Anita will be unbelievably missed by her longtime sweetheart and loving husband Rande, of 11 years. She meant everything to him and her children, and they meant everything to her. Her devotion to her family, wonderful smile and gracious heart will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is also survived by her loving children Tyler (14), Peyton (10) and Lauryn (6), her parents Richard and Nancy Mazzitello, brother Chris (Steph), mother and father in law Sandra and Robert Gosso, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. “We love you and miss you ‘Nita”.
Visitation will be on Sunday February 19, 2006 from 4pm – 8 pm in the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater. The visitation will continue on Monday February 20, 2006 from 10 am until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Catholic Church 611 South 3rd Street, Stillwater.

Willard Seth Underwood

Willard Seth Underwood age 80 of Carlton, MN passed away on March 11, 2006 in Sunnyside Health Care Center, Cloquet, MN. He was born May 15, 1925 in Rolla, MO to Charles and Susie (Elm) Underwood.
Willard was an Independent Owner Operator from 1945-2002 in all 48 states. A pioneer of truck driving of Route 66 from Chicago to LA.
He was a WWII veteran who served 3 invasions in the Pacific in which he drove landing craft vehicle personnel (LCVP), bringing soldiers to shore and wounded to the USS Comfort Ship.
Willard was a 32nd degree Mason, and avid sportsman who held a private pilot license in which he very much enjoyed flying his own airplane. His last flight was at age 73 while visiting friends in Nevada.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Rhonda, his parents, brother Gene, sister Betty and grandson Adam Underwood.
Willard was loved and will be sadly missed by his sons; Felix (Fran) Underwood of Millsboro, DE and Dennis (Julie) Underwood of Hermantown, MN, grandchildren; Elaine Rebekah, Whitney (Mark), Sean, Michael (Deena), Debbie, Michael, Robbie, Sandy and Frank, great grandchildren; Jacob, Emma, Evan, Seth, Ben, Jared, Conner, Jordan and Shane, sisters; Virginia (Bud) Slates of Rolla, MO, Norma (Clarence) Andrews of Signal Mt., TN, Barbara (Kenny) Tune of Rolla, MO, and Rebecca (Richard) Brown of Central City, AK, brother; Steven (Norma) Underwood of Gravois Mills, MO, many nieces, nephews and friends and a special nephew Fred Bullington of Hermantown, MN.
To honor Willard’s wishes there will be no services.
