Alma Jean Popejoy, age 77, formerly of Littlefork, MN, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2007 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on August 15, 1930 in Littlefork, MN to Severt and Ellen (McArthur) Thompson.
Alma is survived by her husband Iler; sons Lon (JoAnn) of Duluth, MN and James of Albuquerque, NM; 3 grandchildren Jaala, Olivia and Agatha; 2 great-grandchildren Melia and Kiera; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation or service per Alma’s request.

Marion "Judy" Sroka
04-03-1932 - Friday, March 17, 2006
Marion “Judy” Sroka age 73 of Cloquet, passed away on Friday March 17, 2006 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth. She was born on April 3, 1932 to Lee and Ada (Peterson) Randall in Little Falls, MN.
Judy is a member of the Cloquet VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, fishing and being outdoors. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband Walter Sr. in 1988, her parents, a sister Evelyn Trafas, brothers Dick and Don Randall.
She is survived by her children Wally Jr. of Milaca, MN and Sue (Stacy) Sroka of Cloquet, Grandchildren Tina, TJ, Jasmine, Megan and Jennifer, sisters Ethel LaDage of Elk River, MN and Bernice Brown of Little Falls, MN, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday March 21, 2006 from 5 pm until 8 pm and continue on Wednesday March 22, 2006 from 10 am until the 11 am Funeral Service. Both the visitation and the funeral will take place in the Handevidt Funeral Home 900 Washington Ave, Cloquet. On Thursday, April 20, 2006, the visitation will continue from 1:00 pm until the 2:30 pm Memorial Service at the First Memorial Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth.

Lonnie Todd Olson
08/29/1963 - Thursday, April 20, 2006
Lonnie Todd Olson, age 42 of Cloquet, formerly of Minneapolis, died suddenly on April 20, 2006 in Cloquet. He was born in St. Paul on August 29, 1963 to Donald and Hazel (Thompson) Olson. He was a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Lonnie enjoyed cooking, making others laugh and he especially loved spending time with his two granddaughters.
He is survived by his children, Sherri Lee Bruce and Keith Allen Bruce; granddaughters, Shaylee and Shada Bruce; mother Hazel Olson; brothers, Darrin, Eugene and Wendell Olson; sisters, Sissy, Jodi and Sherry Olson, also many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held starting Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 5:00 pm and will continue until the traditional service that will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at 10:00 am in the Fond du Lac Headstart Gymnasium, 1720 Big Lake Road, Cloquet.

Shirley Jane Nelson

Shirley Jane Nelson age 85 of Cloquet passed away on Saturday March 18, 2006 in her home. She was born on February 18, 1921 in Gilbert, MN to William and Jane(Rickard) Muck.
Shirley was a graduate of Cloquet High School and Miller Dwan Nurse’s School and she worked as a LPN at Cloquet Community Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the Big Lake Covenant Church. She was an avid bowler. Shirley also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband Willard, infant daughter Diane Renee, her parents, and a sister Joyce Janousek and her husband John.
Shirley is survived by her children Bill (Bobbi), Stuart (Mae Belle) and David (Melodee) all of Cloquet and Mary (Randy) Chisum of Henderson, NV, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sister Marion (Charles) Bertram of International Falls, MN, many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Visitation will be on Friday March 24, 2006 from 5 pm until the 7 pm Memorial Service in Handevidt Funeral Home 900 Ohio.
Saundra is preceded in death by her daughter Melissa and her parents. She is survived by her husband Gary, daughters Beth and Gina, son Troy and grandson Nick. Saundra is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 3 pm in the Cloquet Presbyterian Church 47 - 4th Street, Cloquet.

Elaine Puhl

Elaine Puhl (nee LeJeune), age 87 of Cloquet, formerly of Morgan Park, passed away on November 6, 2007 in Sunrise Nursing Home, Two Harbors, MN. She was born on August 23, 1920 in Rice Lake, WI.
She was a member of the Sts. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Sawyer, MN and was active in the Ladies Guild. Elaine enjoyed rosemaling and was a member of the Twin Ports Rosemaling Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Puhl; daughter Nancy Beck; and brother Glenn LeJeune. Elaine is survived by her son James (Dorothy) of Bedford, Washington Avenue, Cloquet. Private interment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, St. Paul, MN.

Richard C. Hearle

Richard C. Hearle Sr., age 52 of Cloquet, passed away on October 16, 2007. He was born on May 18, 1954 in Cloquet to Dewey and Susan (Pineau) Dupuis.
Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding deer, drawing and he especially enjoyed collecting many different items. He was known by many as “Uncle Rich.” He was a member of the Fond du Lac Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Deborah; brothers Dewey J. Jr., Wayne, Gordon, George and Joseph; and a grandchild.
Richard is survived by his children Dwight, Tanya (Trever), Richard Jr. and James (Starr); 12 grandchildren; a brother James Sr. (Hope); sisters Wanda, Becky, Margaret and Lois; also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Friday, October 19, 2007 at 5:00 pm at the Brookston Community Center, 8200 Belich Road, Brookston and will continue throughout the evening until the Traditional Service at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 20, 2007 also at the Brookston Community Center.
Interment in Old Holy Family Cemetery, Cloquet.
