Janice M. Tindal, age 67, of Cloquet died on May 3, 2006. She was born on May 21, 1938 to David Michael and Katherine (Church) Couture Sr. in Brookston, MN. She was a member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the Women of Moose Lodge #1274. Janice volunteered as a reading buddy at the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School. She loved to read and crochet afghans for special family members. Janice enjoyed working her word finds, and attending pow-wows. Her duties as wife, mother and grandmother always came before anything else. She also enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene (Beanie) Couture, Joseph John Couture Sr. and Julius Ambrose Couture; sister, Delores Anne Fornari; and nieces, Brenda Lee Fornari and Cindy Lou Niemi.
Janice is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Earl Tindal; daughter, Sommer (Robert) Moore; granddaughter, Cheyenne Marie Moore; grandson, Dakota William Moore; brothers, David William (Roberta) Couture Sr., Micheal George Couture and James Arthur Couture; sisters, Margaret Elizabeth (Kenny) Clark, Dorothy Elaine Yadon and Ella May Netland; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006 from 5- 8 pm at Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Texas; four sisters, Jean (Don) Kujawa of Dumfries, VA, Sharon (Mike) Gorgin of Edina, MN, Jakie Mattinen-Lee of Lacrosse, WI and Cathy (Dave) Ballou of Fort Wayne, IN; one brother, John (Tina) Mattinen of Washington Ave, Cloquet and will continue on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 10:00 until the 11:00 am funeral service also in the funeral home. Private family interment.

Dorothy Troutner Anderson

Dorothy Troutner Anderson age 87 of Cloquet, passed away on May 19, 2006 at Lakeview Nursing Home, Two Harbors, MN. She was born in Roosevelt Township, MN on December 3, 1918 to Thadeous & Charlotte (Ellsworth) Cooley.
Dorothy’s life was family and home. She was loved and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson Jon; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters. Dorothy is survived by daughters, Gail (James) Nystrom of Elk River, MN; June (Anton) Altringer of Cloquet; and Ruth Gubrud of Two Harbors; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; also nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at a later date in Brainerd. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Brainerd.

Marion L. Gross

Marion L. Gross age 96 of Cloquet, passed away peacefully after an unexpected illness on May 29, 2006. She was born on April 2, 1910 in Edmundston, Canada. Marion retired from the Northwest Paper Co. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards with her friends.
Marion is preceded in death by her husband Robert M. in 1973 and her daughter Eloise Erickson. She is survived by her children Virginia Lins of Puyallup, WA and Robert H. of Deer River, MN. Many Grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service on Friday, June 2, 2006 in Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 TX, formerly of Cromwell and Cloquet, passed away on September 6, 2007 in the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, OH, Dolly (John) Wieczorek of South Bend, IN and Wendy (Karl Kroner) Crabtree of San Antonio, Washington Ave., Cloquet. The visitation will continue on Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service also in the funeral home. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cloquet. There will be a time of fellowship and lunch following the burial in the funeral home reception area.

Robert Thomas McKibbon

Robert Thomas McKibbon, age 81 of San Antonio, TX.
He was born on April 6, 1926 in Atkinson, MN to Fred and Alexandria (Pellerin) McKibbon. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Potlatch in 1988 after 45 years. Robert enjoyed traveling and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna in 1991; brothers, Andrew, Billy, Clarence, Walter, Harry and Fredrick; sisters, Helen Johnson and Esther Korby.
Robert is survived by his children, Pamela (Gary) Polo of Esko, Kevin (Barbara) Adams of Cleveland, TX; 4 grandchildren, Adam Dickison, Patrick, Dustin and Amanda Crabtree; brother Russell of Cloquet; also many nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 from 5 – 8 pm in Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Arizona, whom Harold thought of fondly like a daughter; many nieces, nephews and other relatives; and special companion Bea Banicki of Duluth.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 5 – 8 pm in Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Washington Ave, Cloquet. The visitation will continue on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service also in the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. Private family interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Wright, MN.
