Henry “Hank” Niilo Aho 1911 - 1998, 87, Cromwell, died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998 in Villa Vista Nursing Home, Cromwell. He was born on July 1, 1911 in Duluth to August and Edith (Erickson) Aho. He moved with his family to a farm in Clark Township near Tamarack in 1917. Henry worked on the family farm until 1941 when he began his career as a lineman for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He was transferred to Montana and made his home in Laurel, Mont. He moved back to Minnesota and made his home at Southview Apartments in Cromwell. Henry had a remarkable sense of humor and a keen interest in his friends. He enjoyed his family and visited often. While he lived in Montana, he kept in close contact by phone and letters. His church was important to him and he was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Thelma. He is survived by his stepchildren, Marilyn of Maple Valley, Wash. and Ronald of Oregon; six sisters, Betty (John) Holm and Julia Beckman, both of Cromwell, Ellen Resso, Esther McGuire and Dorothy (Ray) Tiili, all of Duluth and Alice (Don) Hietala of Denver, Colo.; three brothers, William (Thelma) Aho of Las Vegas, Arthur (Mary) Aho and Leonard (Toini) Aho, both of Tamarack; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation was held Thursday from 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wright. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Don Russell Cartwright 1921 - 1998, 77, Cloquet, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Monday, Nov. 9, 1998 with his family by his side. He began his journey in life on Sept. 21, 1921 in Blackhoof Township to Vern and Pearl (Russell) Cartwright. He grew up in Blackhoof Township and at the age of five, he was a vaudeville actor with the Cartwright family musicians. He graduated from Carlton High School in 1937. He was a heavy equipment operator for more than 20 years and in 1960, he went to work at Potlatch until retiring in 1983. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He spent the winter of 1959 in Greenland working as a diesel mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Bastien; one sister, Iva Hammitt and one grandson, Russell E. Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma; two sons, Don D. (Kathy) of Proctor and Kevin (Tamara) of Esko; two daughters, Marilyn Johnson and Debbie (Jim) King, both of Vernon Hill, Va.; sister, Marvel Williams of Duluth; his aunt, Zella Rasmussen of Blackhoof Township; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. today, Saturday, in Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet. Military honors will be accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. Mamie Juntunen Hill Hjulberg 1903 - 1998, 95, Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Esko and Cromwell, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998 in Lakeland, Fla. She was born on June 28, 1903 in Thomson Township. Mamie graduated from Cloquet High School in 1921 and later during WWII, she was a teacher at Cromwell High School. She also served as principle at Eagle Lake School. In the latter years, she served as postmistress of the Cromwell Post Office. Mamie was a member of Apostolic Lutheran Church, Esko. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elsa Juntunen; nine brothers and sisters; and her husbands, John Hill and Ernest Hjulberg. She is survived by her daughter and son, Marjorie McDougall of Lakeland, Fla. and Charles (Dora) Hill of Pawcatuck, Conn.; grandchildren, Lois McDougall of Holmes Beach, Fla., William (Dani) McDougall of Van Nuys, Calif., Barbara (Tom) Kiedrowski of Edina, Jane (Richard) Benz of Minneapolis, Grant (Peggy) McDougall of Lakeland, Fla., Thomas (Janet) McDougall of Minneapolis, Jeffrey Hill of Baltimore, Md. and Douglas (Jennifer) Hill of East Haddam, Conn.; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18 one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at Apostolic Lutheran Church, Esko. The Rev. Wayne Juntunen will officiate. Robert L. “Bob” Hansen 1931 - 1998, Robert L. Hansen passed away on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998 at home in Colorado Springs, Colo. at the age of 67. He was born on April 8, 1931 in Cloquet to Thorn Wilhelm and Julia Ann (Oakland) Hansen. Bob served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955, including a tour in Korea during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge. He then joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of Colorado Springs VFW Post 4051 since 1965. Bob and Jody were married on Feb. 6, 1954 in Phillipsburg, Kan. and came to Colorado in 1961 where they have been residents of Colorado Springs, Colo. for 37 years. Bob was employed with the Federal Civil Service where he worked at Fort Carson until his retirement after 32 years of honorable service. Bob was an avid sportsman and athlete enjoying golf, bowling, hunting, camping, and fishing with his family and friends. He was a loving father and husband, and was very involved with his family and community coaching his sons YAL football teams, Old-Timer’s Baseball Association teams and supporting the local school Quarterback Club. He was very proud of the fact that both his sons graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and went on to serve their country as career Naval Aviators. He was preceded in death by his second sister, Nancy Crawford of Cloquet. He is survived by his wife Jody (Ritter) Hansen of Phillipsburg, Kan.; two sons, Daniel L. Hansen and Jeffrey W. Hansen and their respective families, daughter-in-law, Cheryl A. Hansen, grandsons, Jason T. Hansen, William E. Hansen and Matthew R. Hansen, granddaughter, Terra K. Hansen, daughter-in-law, Vicki J. Hansen, grandsons, Jeffrey T. Hansen and Jared W. Hansen; one sister, Virginia Crawford of Louisville, Ky. A public memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel of Roses. A private inurnment is planned at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, outside under the flagpole, within the Old Glory Columbarium. Charles August Martin 1903 - 1998, 95, Cloquet, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 1998 in the Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital and Convalescent Nursing Care Section. He was born on July 15, 1903 to Hjalmer and Alma A. (Sherholm) Martin in Kangasla, Finland. He attended Pine River School. Charles and Helen Kallinen were married on Nov. 12, 1929. He worked on the DM&IR Railroad. He was a farmer and a bricklayer until is retirement. He was preceded in death by his sons, Charles in 1930 and David in 1990 and a grandson, John Hetzer in 1995. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen of Cloquet; daughters, Betty (Charles) Hetzer of Milwaukee, Wis., Doris Dahl and Alma Ojala, both of Cloquet; a sister, Elvi Rebarcheck of Palmer, Ala.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held today, Saturday, at 11 a.m. in Barr Brothers Funeral Home, Cloquet. Pastor Richard Doebler will officiate. Inurnment in Pine River Cemetery, Brevator Township. Benjamin L. Cohoon, 62, Blaine, died at his home Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998 after a brief and sudden battle with colon cancer. He was a City of Blaine employee for 27 years, a MSHSL basketball official for 30 years and a softball umpire for 26 years. He also served proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid lover of basketball, which he played up through his diagnosis. He was a fair and dedicated official who shared his knowledge an appreciation for the game through mentoring other officials. He is preceded in death by his mother, Iva. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 36 years, Ruth Ann; daughters, Vicki Mead (Jon) and Pamela Melby (Alan); sons, Brian (Jennifer) and Brent; grandchildren, Adam, Jenna, Dylan, Benjamin and Parker; brothers, Charles (Dennie) and Robert (Elizabeth); sisters, Coleen Booth and Patricia Lehti (Ronald); and many nieces, nephews, friends, fellow employees, umpires and basketball officials. Funeral service was at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 at Ham lake Baptist Church, Ham Lake. Visitation was two hours prior to the service at church. Frances B. Hill 1919 - 1998, 79, Anoka, formerly of Cloquet, died Tuesday at Twin Rivers Care Center, Anoka. Frances was born on March 16, 1919 in Cloquet to Nicholas and Jennie (Koutala) Ojala. She married Walter Hill in December of 1948 in Springfield, Ill. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Cedar and was a former member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Esko. Frances and her husband, Walter, delivered Meals on Wheels in the Hibbing area for many years. She was also active with the Christian Women Group in the Anoka area. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter in 1979; her brother and sisters, Pat, Flo, Ernie and Emily. She is survived by her son, Randy (Debbie) Hill of Cedar; a sister, Helen Korby of Esko; a brother, Robert (Esther) Ojala of Coon Rapids; her grandchildren, Gabe Hill of Cedar, Jeremy Hill of Cedar and Randy (Patty) Hill of St. Francis; two great-grandsons, Randy and Ryan Hill of St. Francis; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Friday in Wefelmeyer Funeral Home, Cloquet. Visitation continued Saturday one hour prior to the 1 p.m. service in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Esko. The Rev. Gertrude Martha Fredrick Fricke 1905 - 1998, 92, Chicago and Holyoke, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 1998 in Elston Nursing Home, Chicago. She was born on Dec. 31, 1905 in Holyoke to Herman and Wilhelmina (Dietrick) Fredrick. Gertrude was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Chicago. Gertrude and Ernest Fricke were married on July 28, 1927 in Holyoke. Gertrude was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a gift to us from God. Thank you for taking her to Glory. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest in 1977; brothers, Ernst, Fritz and Ervin and a grandson, Robert Gary Fricke. She is survived by her children, Fred, Richard (Janet) and Walter (Mary), all of Chicago and Barbara (Lee) Wazny of Saginaw, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Richard “Dick” Hartman 1955 - 1998, 43, Moose Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born on March 11, 1955 in Murray County Memorial Hospital, Slayton, to John C. and Florence (Stirn) Hartman. Dick attended St. Columba Catholic School in Iona and later Slayton High School where he graduated in 1973. In the fall of 1973, Dick entered the United States Army where he was stationed in El Paso, Texas and Berlin, Germany. On Aug. 31, 1974, Dick married Stephanie Cullum in Iona. They lived in Minneapolis where Dick worked for Korvias installing color weather radar systems. He later worked for Control Data. Dick and Stephanie then moved to Iona where they owned and operated Richard’s Pub. Dick later worked as a car sales manager for over 20 years and was recently working for Nelson Motor Company, Cloquet. They lived in the Moose Lake area since 1995. Dick enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycle riding, ice fishing, golfing and plants. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Hartman in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; a son, Ross of Moose Lake; a daughter, Nicole Hartman of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother, Florence Hartman of Iona; two brothers, Jack (Jackie) Hartman of Andover and his twin brother, Bob (Jayne) Hartman of Champlin; three sisters, Sharon (Manford) Koehly of Lakewood, Colo., Judy (Jerry) Zwack of Bloomington and Jean (Lynn) Schumacher of Iona; mother-in-law, Dorothy Cullum of Pompano Beach, Fla.; brother-in-law, Stacy Cullum of Pompano Beach Fla.; sister-in-law, Joan (Jim) Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Dean P. Lutzka 1939 - 1998, 59, Proctor, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998 at St. Mary’s Hospice Center in Duluth. He was born on June 28, 1939 in Duluth to the late Lyle and Elsie (Hendrickson) Lutzka. He worked for the DWP Railroad as a brakeman and was a member of the Proctor Moose Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother, Dale. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beckrich; a son, Wayne (Lauren) of Jamestown, N.C.; a daughter, Shari Lutzka of Alborn; a brother, Lyle (Ruby) Lutzka of Littleton, Colo.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lillie J. Golden 1922 - 1998, 76, Cromwell, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth. She was born on May 7, 1922 in Cromwell to John and Tilda (Pertula) Holm. She married John Golden on July 17, 1950 in Seattle. She and her husband lived in several areas of the country and moved back to the Cromwell area in the early 70s. Lillie enjoyed crafts and babysitting for her many nieces and nephews. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed carpentry and helped her husband build their house. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lawrence Holm and a sister, Dorothy Grogaard. She was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by her husband, John of Cromwell; three brothers, John (Betty) Holm, George (Trudy) Holm and Ray (Eleanor) Holm, all of Cromwell; two sisters, Esther Broadway of Cromwell and Elma (Ken) Norris of Hemet, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. Caryl F. Garrett 1913 - 1998, 85, Floodwood, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998 in Leisure Hills Care Center in Grand Rapids. He was born on Aug. 1, 1913 in Akeley to John and Valborg (Sund) Garrett. His family moved to Floodwood when he was two-years old. He married Nora Crist on March 30, 1933 in Floodwood. He was a mail carrier in Floodwood for four years. In 1939, he went to Montana where he helped with the building of the Fort Peck Dam. He then attended the Dunwoody Institute in the Twin Cities, learning the trade of steel construction. Caryl began his career as an iron worker in 1942. Working in steel construction, he lived in many different areas including, Duluth; Silver Bay; Cohasset; Parkville; Minot, N.D., Cheyenne, Wyo. and Portage, Ind. He also worked in Greenland for a short time. He retired in 1979 at which time he returned to Floodwood. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Floodwood and a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 563 for 56 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan; a grandson, Peter Garrett; a great-great-grandson, Travis Wright and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nora of Floodwood; a son, Delbert of Duluth; three daughters, C. Jean (J. Vernon) Hutchinson of Floodwood, Margaret “Peggy” (Mario) Peverini of Tampa, Fla. and Leita (Craig) McEwen of West Fargo, N.D.; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Joe J. Jenkins 1915 - 1998, 83, Cloquet, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998 at his residence. He was born on Oct. 25, 1915 in Manistique, MI. to the late Ambrose and Clara (Shoemaker) Jenkins. He was a Cloquet resident for the past 78 years. Joe retired from the Potlatch Corporation in 1974 as a senior vice president of the Northwest Paper Division. He began his career with Northwest in 1933 as an hourly employee in the manufacturing division working on the paper machines. After attending business college in Duluth, he held various positions in the finishing, manufacturing, shipping and sales departments until his appointment as vice president of sales in 1965. He was senior vice president from 1972-1974. He was chairman of the Northwest Division of Paper Mill Management Association in 1956 and 1957; a member of the governing committee, Statistical Paper Croup, American Paper Institute (API) in 1970; a member of the executive committee of the Printing-Writing Paper Division of API in 1970 and chairman of that executive committee in 1973 and 1974. He was a member of the Potlatch Quarter Century Club; a former member of the Cloquet Rotary Club; past president and member of the Cloquet Country Club, Northland Country Club and the Kitchi Gammi Club of Duluth. He was an avid fly fisherman and duck hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Robert, George and Neil. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; three daughters, JoAnn (Joan) Kearney of Boulder, Colo., Nancy (Ross) Kitt of Rochester, N.Y. and Patricia (Tom) Chepokas of Plymouth; one sister, Margueritte Washnesky of Duluth; eight grandchildren and three great-grand children. A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet. Sulo John Kyllonen 1921 - 1998, 76, formerly of Floodwood, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998 in Nopeming Nursing Home. He was born on Dec. 28, 1921 in Gowan to John and Elsa Kyllonen. He worked as a farmer, logger, on construction crews and as a handyman for neighboring farmers and loggers. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. In his later years, he regularly attended church services held in the Nopeming Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Peter and Matt; sisters, Elsie Guernsey, Ina Aase and Jennie Wilminko. He is survived by one sister, Martha (Weikko) Harrison of Duluth; three nieces; three nephews; a number of cousins and friends. Laura Louise (Lind) Rathe 1915 - 1998, 83, Saginaw, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth. She was born on May 3, 1915 at home in Minneapolis to Fred and Anna (Savage) Lind. Laura grew up in Alborn and left home at the age of 15 to work as a waitress in Duluth at, now nonexistent restaurants, The Diana Tea Rooms and the Lake Avenue, Pleasant and Lyceum Cafes until she married Arne Rathe on Sept. 5, 1936, when she joined him in partnership operating the Hillendale Dairy in Saginaw. Laura also waitressed at the Ga-No-Me Motel and Restaurant in Saginaw and the Airport Restaurant in Duluth, retiring in 1974 at the Cloquet River Home, where she continued her love of cooking, gardening, cross-country skiing and hosting friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her brother, Ellsworth. She is survived by a daughter, Karen (Gerald) Ruona; a granddaughter, Suzanne (John Robb) French; grandsons, Matthew and Aaron; great-grandsons, Hunter and Holden; great-granddaughters, Madison and Alysa; sisters, Dorothy Janke and Jennie Baublitz; brothers, Morrie, Fred and Curtis. A celebration of Laura’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6 in the Industrial Fire Hall and Community Center, Albert Road, Saginaw.

Frank Joseph Hann 1941 - 1998, 57, Cloquet, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 1998 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester. He was born on Aug. 25, 1941 in Gary, Ind. to Frank and Bridget (Connolly) Hann. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Cloquet. Frank married Charlotte McMurry on Aug. 4, 1967 in Indianapolis, Ind. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. Frank was a meat cutter for 28 years, working for Super One in Cloquet for 17 years. He was a member of the Fly Fisherman’s Club of Cloquet. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Frank was a very special person who touched many lives and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Patrick Quinn and Jack Hann. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte of Cloquet; daughters, Stephanie E. Hann of Cloquet and LeaAnne (Jim) Frey of Gary, Ind.; a son, Jeff Hann of Morocco, Ind.; sisters, Pat Lawrence of Edgemont, S.D. and Mary (Bob) Mathews of Embarrass, Wis.; four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and his best buddy, “Shadow.” Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Friday in Barr Brothers Funeral Home, Cloquet. Norman R. Pentila 1932 - 1998, 66, a lifelong resident of Cloquet, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998 in Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet. He was born on March 14, 1932 in Cloquet to Ben and Mary (Salo) Pengtila. He graduated from Cloquet High School in 1950. He married Betty Koch on Aug. 25, 1956. Norman worked for Potlatch for 38 years, retiring in 1997. From 1950 until 1988 he also owned and operated Pentila Trucking. He was a member of the Potlatch Quarter Century Club and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a very dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth “Millie” Pouti and Helen Dauplaise. He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Kevin of Spring Lake Park and Scott (Anne) of Bloomington; daughter, Debra (Dana) Lehto of Cloquet; three grandchildren, Benjamin Pentila, Jennifer and Megan Lehto and one sister, Lillian (William) LeeJoice of Cloquet. Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet. Visitation continued from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service on Friday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cloquet, with Pastor Peter Franz officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Louis Hubbell, Lee Woodward, Corky LeeJoice, Robert Smith, Kenny Salo, Jim Runholt, Floyd Huima and Ray Salo. Arrangements by Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.

Elizabeth Ann Armstrong Miller 1919 - 1998, 79, Ahoskie, N.C., died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998 at her home. She was born on Oct. 8, 1919 in Duluth to the late John Henry Armstrong and Margaret Armstrong Nelson. She attended the University of Washington and East Carolina University. She held membership in Phi Alpha Theta, honor society in history and Kappa Delta Pi, honor society in education. She was a member of the first Docent training class at the North Carolina Museum of Art. She also served as Regional Representative of the North Carolina Art Society, the North Carolina School of the Arts. She served on the advisory board of the North Carolina Museum of Art’s Mary Duke Biddle Gallery for the Blind. She was a past director and state board member of the Congress of Parents and Teachers. She functioned in various capacities as a former member of the Ahoskie Woman’s Club, the Ahoskie Garden Club and the Hertford County Units of the American Cancer Society and the North Carolina Heart Association. She was a member of the Roanoke Chowan Group. She was instrumental in establishing the Hertford County Committee of the North Carolina Museum of History Associates, serving first as co-chairman and later as chairman of the organization. She had served on the Vestry of St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church to which she belonged and was a member of the Ontario Genealogical Society and the Daughters of the British Empire, U.S.A. She is survived by her husband, William J. Miller, to who she was married to in 1945; three daughters, Mrs. Kennedy C. O’Herron of Raleigh, Mrs. Kiran H. Mehta of Charlotte and Mrs. Clifton Daniel, III of Greenville, N.C. and nine grandchildren. Funeral service was held Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Mary Elizabeth Bolin 1914 - 1998, 84, Grand Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998 at the Itasca Medical Center, Grand Rapids. She was born on Oct. 20, 1914 and raised in Cloquet where she graduated from high school in 1932. She had lived in Grand Rapids since 1943 and was a member of AARP. She enjoyed her family, her home and playing cards. Her parents were Olaf and Anna (Wendel) Bruno. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, in 1994; two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Julie Ann (Ron) Casadont of Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; one son, Jerold Bolin of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren, Karen Casadont Gosser of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Steve Casadont of Athens, Ga., Paul Casadont of St. Johns, Antigua, Jeff Casadont of San Diego, Calif. and Jon Casadont of Chicago, Ill.; and three great-grandchildren, Tatiana, Marco and Matthew. Private family services are being planned at the Itasca Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by Rowe Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.

Charles A. Morris, 91, Carlton, formerly of Bessemer, MI, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998 in Carlton Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Selma, on May 13, 1997 and a son, Charles, Jr., on June 15, 1979. He is survived by a son, Dennis (Barbara) Morris, Sr. of Cloquet; three daughters, Margaret (Peter) Isaacs of Forest Lake, Sharon (Kevin) Somero of Columbia Heights and Laverne (David) Piri of Deer River; two sisters, Sylvia (Konstu) Hill of Bessemer, MI and Helen Kauppi of Ironwood, MI; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church, Cloquet. Arrangements by Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
