Edward Posch
Edward Posch, age 87, a resident of Royalton, MN, died October 10, 1998, at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial was held October 13 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton with Father Laurn Virnig officiating. Burial was at Holy Trinity Parish Cemetery.
Edward was born May 6, 1911, to Frank and Francis (Thomalla) Posch. He married Rose Krystosek in Royalton on October 4, 1938. They owned a hardware store and gas station before farming full-time. They farmed two miles east of Royalton until retirement in 1981. Edward received the Bishop’s Medal of Merit on December 2, 1973. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society member, along with trustee, lector, and choir member at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Edward unlocked the church for years, made copies for the religion teachers, put out the garbage, did general maintenance and was very active in his church.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose; infant son, Joseph; two brothers and one sister.
Dennis Edward Witucki
Dennis Edward Witucki, age 16, a resident of Little Falls, MN, died October 7, 1998, at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN, after a lengthy illness with cancer.
Funeral services were held October 10 at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Martin Langemo officiating. Burial was in the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery in Little Falls.
Dennis E. Witucki was born May 7, 1982, in Columbus, WI, to Dennis F. Witucki and Veronica G. (Langner) Duscher. At the age of one year his family moved to Little Falls where he grew up. He attended Lindbergh Elementary School, Little Falls Middle School and Little Falls High school. He was a member of the Little Falls Flyer baseball and football teams. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, video games, watching movies and listening to music.
Survivors include his mother, Veronica Duscher of Little Falls; father Dennis F. Witucki of Milwaukee, WI; sisters, Rhonda Witucki and Britney Duscher, both of Little Falls; grandparents, Vern and Mary Tanner of Little Falls and Edward Witucki of Little Falls; one nephew and many aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Loretta Witucki; Godmother, Mary Witucki and three uncles.
Casketbearers were Jason Rochell, Tom Langner, Daniel Witucki, Jason Forcier, Tim Rausch and Keith Duscher.
Alois Stanoch
Alois Stanoch, of Upsala, MN, formerly of Opole, MN, died October 11, 1998, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Funeral services were held October 15 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Opole.Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Alois Stanoch was born March 30, 1923, in Brockway Township, Stearns County, MN, to Michael and Mary (Pintok) Stanoch. He married Adelaide Wentland on June 21, 1951, in Holdingford, MN. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Opole and he farmed the family farm until his retirement in 1985. He worked in the stainless steel industry welding automatic sprinkler systems for 14 years. He moved to Upsala in 1993.
Survivors include children, James of Holdingford, Ronald of Holdingford, Jerome of St. Cloud, Mary Lou of Spring Lake Park, Ann Yell of Hudson, WI, Roger of Chaska, Judy Berglin of Coon Rapids, Joan Anderson of Sauk Rapids and Michael of Hanska, MN; 20 grandchildren; and, brothers and sisters, Edward of St. Paul, George of St. Paul and Sister Evangeline OSF of Little Falls and Sister Seraphine OSF of Little Falls.
He was preceded in death by his wife, who died September 13, 1984; two brothers, Alfred and Leo; three sisters, Bernadette, Martha, and Elizabeth.
LeRoy W. Raddatz
LeRoy W. Raddatz, age 72, a resident of Maple Grove Township, died October 11, 1998, at his home.
Funeral services were held October 14 at the First Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN, with Reverend Lynn Broughton officiating. Burial was in the Dykeman Cemetery.
LeRoy was born April 1, 1926, in Redwood Falls, MN, to Arnold and Fern (Barrett) Raddatz. At the age of 10 they moved to Brainerd, MN. He attended country school. He marred Burnice Flansburg November 19, 1947, in Brainerd. He worked for Russell Creamery for two years, farmed in Platte Lake and Maple Grove Townships, worked on road construction, drove school bus for district 181, was a pipe fitter at Brainerd Rail Road shops, and worked at Brainerd Regional Human Resource Center from 1963-1988. He retired at age 62. He was treasurer of the Pine Center School Board, Council member and treasurer for Platte Lake Lutheran Church, was on the Soil Conservation Committee, was a member of the Senior Citizens of Garrison, was an active member of Senior Dance Club of Brainerd and Pequot Lakes, was a former member of the Wealthwood Gun Club of Garrison, was an active soloist for the community, was a former member of the Moose Club #1246 and the Eagles Club, avid deer hunter and a member of Light of the Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison.
Survivors include his wife Burnice; four sons, Michael Raddatz Sr. of Brainerd, Russell Raddatz of Grey Eagle, MN, Randy Raddatz of New London, MN, and Ricky Raddatz of Pine River, MN; three sisters, Betty Johnson of Brainerd, Shirley Holbrook of Brainerd and Donna Mogensen of Orem, UT; a brother, Elroy Raddatz of Brainerd; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vonnie Herberg of Taylor Falls, MN.
Roland Ott
Roland Ott, age 73, a resident of Motley, MN, died October 12, 1998, at his home.
Funeral services were October 16 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Motley, with Reverend Edward Koehler officiating. Burial followed in the Motley Public Cemetery.
Roland Ehler Ott was born on November 21, 1924, in Nicollet, MN, to the late Henry and Bertha (Nothwehr) Ott. It was in this same area that he attended schools. As a young man he moved to the Henning area where he farmed with his brother. It was in Henning that Roland met Geraldine Marie Widhalm and was later united in marriage to her on June 9, 1962. They moved to Motley, where they have resided the past 33 years. Roland drove truck for LaVern Jenkins and also for Bjerga Feed before his retirement in 1988. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Above all Richard enjoyed his precious grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; a daughter, Gina Kuechle of Upsala; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and two sisters.
Cecil Van Orsdel
Cecil Edward Van Orsdel, age 94, a resident of Little Falls, MN, died October 7, 1998, at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls.
Funeral services were held October 10 at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls with the Rev. James Almquist officiating. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls.
Cecil was born on March 27, 1904, in Springfield Township, Cottonwood County, MN, to the late Fred and Amy (Swearingen) Van Orsdel. At the age of one year, his family moved to Marshall, MN. In 1912, at the age of eight, he moved with his family to Hugo, CO, and then to South Dakota. In 1915, he moved with his family to Elbow Lake, MN, where he graduated from high school with the Class of 1923. After high school, he farmed with his father on the family farm for four years. He was united in marriage to Gladys “Toots” E. Ostrom on March 29, 1928, in Elbow Lake, MN. After their marriage, he worked in Fergus Falls at a flour, seed and feed company. In 1934, the couple moved to Wadena, MN, where they farmed. In 1936, they relocated to Darling Township in Morrison County where they farmed. They later farmed south of Little Falls near Blanchard Dam. While his wife took care of the farm, he was employed with Becthel, Missouri and eventually traveled to all 50 states. In 1979, at the age of 69 years, he went to work at Larson Oil Company and also at the Dave Larson Grocery in Little Falls for six years. He also worked at the Clark Service Station (now called Jiffy) until January of 1997.
He was a member of the Lone Eagle Car Club and Carpenters Union 930. He was a recipient of the Good Neighbor Award on February 10, 1982, from WCCO Radio, Northland Ford Dealers and Northwest Orient Airlines for outstanding service with distinction to the people of the northwest and to friends and neighbors of Little Falls. He also won the Good Neighbor Award from the Little Falls Transcript. In addition, he was awarded The Book of Golden Deeds Award from the Little Falls Exchange Club in 1991.
Survivors include his sons, Douglas Van Orsdel and wife Patricia of Little Falls, David Van Orsdel and wife Dorothy of White Bear Lake, MN, and Darrell Van Orsdel and wife, Lee of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Mary Yungner and husband Alden of Champlin, MN; sister, Irma Glover of Olivehurst, CA; grandchildren, Scott, Kris, Stuart, Todd and Kip Van Orsdel, Eric and Matthew Yungner, Nathan Almquist and Martha Atnip and great-grandchildren, David, Danny and Christian Van Orsdel, Jordan and Piper Atnip and Cara Almquist.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys “Toots” Van Orsdel (March 10, 1993); daughter, Doris Jean Almquist (September 16, 1980); infant granddaughter, Rebecca Almquist and sisters, Edith Van Orsdel and Lucy Magee.
Pallbearerswere his grandchildren.
Thomas Seegers
Thomas L. Seegers, age 33, a resident of Little Falls, MN, died October 11, 1998, in Owatonna, MN, as a result of an accident.
Services were held October 17 at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN.
Thomas was born December 7, 1964, in Davenport, IA, to Raymond and Marjorie (Nystuen) Seegers. He had been a resident of OH, and Roxanne Seegers of Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Arthur and Louise Seegers and Vernon and Esther Nystuen.
Mary Kobliska
Mary Kobliska, age 94, a resident of Staples, MN, died October 9, 1998, at the Greater Staples Care Center.
Funeral services were held October 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples with Reverend Alvin Jeske officiating. Burial was at the Union Cemetery in Cushing, MN.
Mary was born September 24, 1904, in Turtle Creek Township in Todd County, MN, to Vincent and Rose (Kominek) Kastanek. She grew up and attended school in central Minnesota. In 1926 she married Frank Kobliska in Alma, IA. They spent a year there before moving their family north of Motley, MN. In the fall of 1936, they moved to Fawn Lake Township before buying the family farm in 1937 in Turtle Creek Township where she lived until her health made it necessary to move to town. She was a long time member of the Lutheran Church in Lincoln, MN, and later a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples.
Survivors include her son, Frank Kobliska of Staples; daughter-in-law, Doris Kobliska of Staples; six grandchildren, Joseph (Judy) Kobliska of Little Falls, MN, Steven (Mary) Kobliska of Staples, Duane (Janet) Kobliska of Staples, Raymond (Terri) Kobliska of Staples, Carol (Larry) Sollie of Fosston, MN, and Deanna Kobliska of Staples; 15 great-grandchildren, Mark Kobliska of Little Falls, Karen Kobliska of Browerville, Jeffrey Kobliska of Staples, Hillary Kobliska of Brainerd, Jerry Kobliska of Staples, Jill Kobliska of Staples, Julie Kobliska of Staples, David Kobliska of Staples, Lisa Kobliska of Staples, Raymond Kobliska, Jr., of Staples, Jessica Kobliska of Staples, Keisha Sollie of Fosston, Ryan Kobliska of Staples, Karina Sollie of Fosston and Kylie Jo Sollie of Fosston and a great-great-grandson, Garrett Kobliska.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters; four brothers; her husband; a son, Joseph and a grandson, Michael.
Rosyne Louise Meyer
Rosyne Louise Meyer (Pelkey), age 57, a resident of Little Falls, MN, died unexpectedly due to heart failure on June 14, 1998, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 18 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with Father Leroy Kremer officiating.
Rosyne was born on October 6, 1940, in Little Falls, to Wallace and Anna (Beniek) Pelkey. She was married to Gerald Meyer on November 18, 1961.
Survivors include her five children, Tim Meyer and wife Tamra of Duluth, MN, Cindy Meyer of Little Falls, and significant other, Linda Kofman of State College, PA, Mary B. Kruse and husband Lyle of St. Joseph, MN, Lisa Spengler and significant other Matthew Shaw of St. Cloud, MN, Kimberly Meyer of Sauk Rapids, MN; her mother, Anna Pelkey of Little Falls; two brothers, Jerry of Paynesville, MN, and Robert of Brooklyn Park, MN; sisters, Audrey Posch of Rice, MN, Marilyn Brennan of Burnsville, MN, Jeanette Ginter of Green Bay, WI, and Diane Pelkey of Little Falls.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace Pelkey.
Pallbearers were nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorials be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Joseph Koll
Joseph Koll, age 94, a resident of Pierz, MN, died June 14, 1998, at St. Mary’s Villa in Pierz.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held June 17 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Ken Brenny officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Joseph was born on March 20, 1904, in Earling, IA, to Nicholas and Susanna (Kuhl) Koll. He was united in marriage to Euphemia Terhaar on January 14, 1933. They then moved to Pierz in 1937, where they had two children, Kenneth Joseph Koll and Donna Rudolph. Euphemia passed away June 18, 1960. He married Adeline Vanheel on July 10, 1976. She passed away July 6, 1990. Joseph worked as a farmer in Pierz from 1937 until 1954. He then became a janitor at St. Joseph’s Parish from 1954 until 1971. He also worked at the Pierz Golf Course from 1971 until his retirement in 1978, and the Sales Barn in St. Cloud for three years, and the LeBlanc Game Farm. He liked volunteering, gardening, visiting with his friends and family, and singing with the Geshunteit Singers.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth J. and wife Mary Koll of Pierz; daughter, Donna and husband Dennis Rudolph of Perham, MN; sister, Mathilda (Tillie) Breitbach of Melrose, MN; five grandchildren, Tanya (Koll) Logan of Chesterton, IN, Christie Koll of Pierz, Michael Koll and Christopher Bellefeuille, both of Little Falls, MN, Michelle Hoheisel of Sauk Rapids, MN; four great-grandchildren, Rhett Logan, Joseph Lease, Nicole and Josh Hoheisel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives; five brothers, Anthony, John, Michael, Nicholaus, and Lawrence; four sisters, Anna, Bernadine, Katherine and Magdalene.
Casketbearers were Paul Solinger, Michael Koll, Hank Terhaar, Alvin Van Heel, Edwin Koll and Ronald Van Heel.
