Louis VonderHaar
Louis E. VonderHaar of Lake Oswego, OR, passed away from cancer on November 11, 1997.
A Memorial Service was held at Bethlehem Church in Lake Oswego, on November 15, 1997.
He was born April 4, 1927, in Little Falls, MN. He retired from Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery by Camp Ripley.
James Joseph Wielinski was born on July 4, 1912 in TX; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Beatrice Haselkamp, and one brother, Lloyd LeDoux, both of Little Falls, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her daughter, Rosemary; three sisters, Lilly, Clarice and Sylvia; and three brothers, Irving, Walter and Albert.
Thomas Pancratz
Longtime Casper, WY resident Thomas Robert Pancratz passed away on December 19, 1997, in his family home with his wife Katie and children by his side.
A funeral liturgy for Pancratz, 73, was celebrated December 23, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church by Msgr. O’Neill. Rite of Committal was conducted at Highland Cemetery.
Tom was born on July 11, 1924 in Little Falls, MN. He attended Catholic School and, in 1942, he graduated from Little Falls High School. During WWII he served in the Army Air Corps as a B17 radio operator. Following the war, Tom studied political science and history at the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. An entrepreneur, Tom arrived in Casper in 1949 and founded the Pancratz Roofing and Sheetmetal Co., Inc. From the 1950s through the 1980s the company grew to be the largest and most successful roofing and sheetmetal business in the state of Wyoming. Tom met his wife in Casper, and, in 1957, married in Denver’s St. John Evangelist Church. As a lover of history Tom thrived on travel, visiting several continents including a history-breaking trip to Red China in 1981. Tom also enjoyed family vacations and golfing and fishing trips with many friends. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish, Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, Casper Country Club, and Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen of 40 years; his sister, Barbara Merner of Mesa, AZ; and six children, Carolyn (C.B.) Alif of Buffalo, NY, George of Casper, Mary Ellen Browne of Springfield, MO, Nancy Currah of Casper, Robert of St. Louis, MO, and Patricia Bevier of Santa Barbara, CA, and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother George, who was killed in WWII; his first wife Rachel, his father Lambert, his mother Irene and his sister Trudy.
