James H. Hamers
James H. Hamers, age 59, a resident of rural Hillman, MN, died January 9, 1998, at his home.
Funeral services were January 13 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Brennyville. Fr. Tom Olson officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
James Hamers was born September 17, 1938, in Morrill Township, Morrison County, MN to Herman and Vera (Wittwer) Hamers. He married Judith Clark October 15, 1960, at Mason City, IA. He was a lifelong resident of the Ramey, MN, area where he had farmed all of his life. He also worked at the Ramey Creamery for over twenty years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Brennyville. He also pitched for the Ramey baseball team for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Judith of Hillman; sons and daughter, Randy of Foley, MN; Karen Talberg of Elk River, MN; Robert of Princeton, MN; Richard, Hillman; and nine grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Shirley Crowe, Foley; John of Center, ND; Barbara Wassel, Milaca, MN; JoAnne Galerneault, San Diego, CA; Mary Jurek, Mounds View, MN; Dave, Andover, MN; Sharon Beaudry, Elk River, MN; Kathy Hamers, Bloomington, MN; Alan, Center, ND; Christine Rajkowski of Buckman; and father, Herman of Andover.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera; and one brother, Charles.
Gladys Goligowski
Gladys Goligowski, age 100, a resident of Long Prairie, MN (formerly of Browerville, MN) died January 4, 1998, at Long Prairie Memorial Hospital.
Services were held January 9, 1998, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Father Kenneth Thielman officiating. Burial was in Christ the King Cemetery, Browerville.
She was born May 4, 1897, in Wadena County, north of Staples, to Robert and Catherine (Whitmarsh) McCartney. She moved with her family by covered wagon to Cottonwood County in southern Minnesota with the exception of a short time spent in Todd County while she was in her teens. During this time she met her future husband, Thomas Goligowski. She moved back to Cottonwood County during World War 1. She married Thomas Goligowski, December 13, 1919, in Windom, MN. They lived and farmed near Jeffers until moving to a farm near Browerville in March of 1938. She moved into Browerville in 1974 and in 1993 became a resident of Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home. Her hobbies included gardening (especially flowers), reading and baking.
Survivors include one son, Ardeen and wife, Vera Goligowski of Browerville; one daughter, Ardes and husband, Neil Adamek of Randall, MN; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas, August 1966; an infant son; five brothers, Frank, Roy, Delbert and two in infancy; and eight sisters, Minnie Schopper, Emma Bowden, Mary Caroline (Carrie) Coulson, Winnifred (Winnie) Polzin, Edna (Lottie) Shaw, Elizabeth (Libby) Tabbert, Grace Coulson and one in infancy.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Robert, Steven and Loren Goligowski and David, Larry and Dale Adamek.
Austin L. (Bast) DaBorjock
Austin L. (Bast) DaBorjock, age 53, a resident of Browerville, MN, died January 9, 1998, at the Greater Staples Hospital in Staples, MN.
Funeral services were held January 13 at the Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Arnold; and grandson, Nathan Adan Bast.
Pallbearers were Troy Bast, Charles Arnold, Daniel Tousig-nant, Stewart Weekley, Daniel Lesinski, Lawrence Doble and Jim Carlson.
Gerald F. Lattimer
Gerald F. Lattimer, age 58, a resident of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Little Falls, MN, (Fort Ripley) died January 5 at Fairview Riverside Hospital, after a two-year struggle with leukemia and COPD.
Funeral services were held at St. Joan of Arc on January 8 followed by military rites at Fort Snelling Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
Jerry enjoyed many outdoors sports including baseball, horseshoes, hunting and fishing. Jerry was born to Frank and Cora (Casperson) Lattimer, October 29, 1939. He was married to Judy Huver, September 4, 1965, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Hillman. Jerry served in the Army from June 1963 through June 1965.
Survivors include his wife Judy; son Gabriel and daughter, Jackie and husband Steve Folta and four grandchildren-Jesse and Jasmine Lattimer and Tom and Brandon Folta; his mother, Cora Lattimer; brothers, George and Gale; sisters, Joan Strahl, Julie Ann Doucette and Joyce Lundell and many nieces and nephews.
Casketbearers were Gabriel Lattimer, Steve Folta, Mike Beske, Mike McGuire, Scottie Lattimer and Billy Lattimer.
Edward Robbins
Edward Robbins, Aitkin, MN, passed away January 2, 1998, in Aitkin.
Funeral services were held at the Brenny-Simonet Funeral Chapel (East Chapel) in Little Falls, MN. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Little Falls.
Edward was born in Little Falls on April 19, 1927, to Joseph and Addie (St. Marie) Robbins. He enjoyed working on automobiles and playing cards.
Survivors include a brother, Louis Robbins of McGregor, MN; sisters, Margaret Kay and husband Robert, and Bernadine Olesch, all of Little Falls; 13 nieces and nephews and 30 great-nieces and- nephews also survive.
Harvey Richner
Harvey Allen Richner, age 55, a resident of Elk River, MN, and formerly of Little Falls, MN, died January 2, 1998, in Elk River.
Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church, Crown, MN on January 7.
Harvey Richner was born April 6, 1942, in Little Falls to Alfred and Eva (Young) Richner. He married Loretta Fussy in 1961. His second marriage was to Candace Hass on June 25, 1981, in Crown. Harvey grew up in Little Falls and attended Little Falls Senior High School. He worked for the Sherburne County Highway Department for 32-1/2 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Crown where he wastreasurer. He was a member of St. Louis Park Sportsmen’s Club and and American Legion. He loved hunting, fishing, trapshooting, bowling and muscle cars.
Survivors include his wife, Candace of Elk River; sons, Patrick Richner, Elk River; Russel (Sue) Richner, Oak Grove, MN; Dennis (Kari) Richner, Andover, MN; Dale Richner, San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Kadie, Blake and Jared Richner; a twin brother, Howard (Rita) Richner, Little Falls; and sisters, Edith (Swen) Olson, Louise (George) Wood, Mary Lou (Chuck) Garretson and Ella (Richard) Moran of Little Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Eva Richner; a brother, Alfred Jr. (Sonny) and sisters, Ethel Weiss and Evelyn Vernig.
Casketbearers were Paul Smith, Merle Kratzke, Larry Smith, Ben Kratzke, Jerry Jensen and Paul Hass. Honorary casketbearers were Len Madson and Earl Hohlen.
William Nutter
William Kenneth Nutter, age 87, a resident of Randall, MN, died January 2, 1998, at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls, MN.
Funeral services were held January 5 at the Presbyterian Church in Randall with Reverend Suzanne Cekalla officiating. Burial was in the Randall City Cemetery.
William Kenneth Nutter was born on April 9, 1910, in Parker Township for many years. Ella died on October 6, 1969. Following Ella’s death William continued to farm and during the summers also worked road construction. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ciminski on June 1, 1972, at the Presbyterian Church in Randall. William enjoyed fishing and traveling. He attended the Randall Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two sons, John Nutter of Wonder Lake, IL; and Douglas Nutter of Mesa, CO; two daughters, Jaclyn Conroy of Brainerd, MN, and Joan Axel of Belle Vista, AR; two stepsons, Richard and Byron Ciminski, both of Little Falls; two stepdaughters, Audrey Knox of Stillwater, MN, and Barbara Sobiech of Minneapolis, MN; 22 grandchildren; fifty-eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Millard Nutter of Elysian, MN.
Hewas preceded in death by his first wife, Ella; three brothers, Dean, Walter, and Forrest Nutter; three sisters, Echo Oothoudt, Hazel Oothoudt, and Myrtle Cross.
Casketbearers were Douglas Nutter, John Nutter, Richard Ciminski, Byron Ciminski, Chester Beto and Ronnie Thielen.
Mary Lou Hendrickson
Mary Lou Hendrickson, age 69, a resident of Crosby, MN, died January 1, 1998, at her home.
Funeral services were held January 5 at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby with Fr. Howard Eisel officiating. Burial was in the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.
Mary Lou was born on June 16, 1928, in Little Falls, MN to Michael and Rose (Staples) Girtz. She married Carl “Fritz” Hendrickson
on February 14, 1957, in Pierz, MN. She was a kitchen aide at the Cuyuna Range Elementary School. She was a member of the Myrin James American Legion Auxiliary #443 of Ironton, MN.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Hendrickson of Deer-wood, MN, Paul Hendrickson and Jim Hendrickson, both of Crosby; two daughters, Mary Pryor of Brainerd, MN and Susan DeCent of Crosby; two brothers, LeRoy “Duke” Girtz of St. Cloud, MN and Dewey Girtz of Little Falls; a sister, Margie Bieganek of Garrison, MN; special friend, Mike Mills of Deerwood; 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Fritz” Hendrickson, in 1985, an infant daughter and her parents.
Regina “Jean” Hansen
Regina ‘Jean’ Hansen, age 68, a resident of Little Falls, MN, died January 5, 1998, at her residence in Little Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial was January 8, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN with Father Harold J. Kost officiating. Burial was in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley, MN.
Jean was born August 27, 1929,in Elmdale Township, Morrison County, to Edward and Katherine Maciej. She was united in marriage with Ronald Hansen on May 31, 1958, in Minneapolis, MN. They resided in Minneapolis following their marriage and Jean was employed at Honeywell. In 1968, they moved to the Little Falls area and she worked at Munsingwear and at Crestliner until her retirement. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Belle Prairie and a member of St. Anne’s Society. Jean enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and spending time at her lake home with her family.
Survivors include her husband Ronald; daughter, Doreen Kaiser and husband Donald of Little Falls; son, Kenneth and wife Denise of Forest Lake, MN; grandchildren, Cory and Angela Kaiser, and Tanner Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Sam, Dan, John, Joseph and Frank Maciej; and a sister, Elizabeth Briz.
Casketbearers were Lenny, Kelly and Tim Maciej.
Cecelia Malinowski
Cecelia Malinowski, age 84, a resident of Pierz, MN, died January 1, 1998, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial was January 3 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Ken Brenny officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Cecelia was born June 25, 1913, in Pierz Township to the late Joseph and Martha (Gray) Przybilla. She was united in marriage with Edward Malinowski on November 25, 1936, in Buckman, MN. They farmed in the Harding and Buckman area until retiring in 1973. Cecelia enjoyed gardening, quilting, braiding rugs, bird watching, and was active in the Senior Center in Pierz. She was also a member of Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her sons, Ralph of Pierz, Ronald and wife Sandra of Fort Ripley, MN, and Joseph and wife Mary of Pierz; daughters, Kathleen Meyer and husband Jerome of Pierz, Frances Roche and husband Angel of Crookston, MN, and Eloise Becker and husband Oliver of Shoreview, MN; brothers, Tony Przybilla of St. Cloud, MN and Al Przybilla of Little Falls; sisters, Mary Marshik and Mildred Proell both of St. Cloud, and Joretta Hoehisel of Pierz; 29 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; five brothers and two sisters.
Casketbearers were Mark and Daniel Malinowski, Jerry and Kevin Malinowski, Thomas Becker and Gary Meyer.
