Frank Polesak
Frank A. “Fred” Polesak died February 6, 1999.
Mass of Christian Burial was held February 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Alexandria, MN. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Alexandria.
Frank was born January 1, 1905, to George and Josephine (Yasgar) Polesak in Swan River Township. He attended school and graduated from St. Stanislaus parochial school in Sobieski, MN. Anne Geris and Frank were united in marriage in February of 1932. Two children were born to them-a son, Fred, and a daughter, Patricia. Frank worked for the Sooline Railroad and then later for the Great Northern Railroad until his retirement. Anne and Frank resided all of their married lives in Alexandria. They recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include his wife, Ann; children, Patricia and Fred; brother, Leo and wife Helen of Sobieski; sister-in-law, Eleanor (Louis) Polesak of Farmington, MN, and grandsons, Tom, Chad, Jeff and Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Josephine and brothers, George and Louis.
Robert W. Bloom
Robert W. Bloom, age 63, a resident of Little Falls, MN, died February 10, 1999, at St. Gabriel’s Hospital.
Memorial services for Robert were private. Burial was in the Washington Schools. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 23, 1958 and was honorably discharged May 20, 1960. He worked for Les BenusaConstruction in Little Falls from 1960 until 1970. Robert worked for Smith Construction in Grand Forks, ND. He worked for Lake State Construction from 1970 until retiring in 1994. Robert enjoyed fishing, camping, the outdoors, leatherwork and collecting pocketwatches.
Survivors include his brother, Milo Hendrickson and wife, Mary Ann of Little Falls; sisters, Lillian Saulter of Little Falls, Dorothy Manlick of Little Falls, Lois Thoms and husband Clarence of Parker Township.
Beatrice O. Peterschick was born December 7, 1909, in Parker Township. Following her schooling she worked at the Randall Hotel. She was united in marriage to Albert A. Peterschick on February 15, 1930, in Detroit Lakes, MN. The couple lived in Washington; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Orval.
Edna (Wedin) Olson
Edna Victoria (Wedin) Olson, age 87, of Upsala, MN,Minneapolis, MN, and Duluth, MN, died February 18, 1999.
Funeral services were held February 22 at Zion Lutheran Church in Duluth. Graveside services were held February 24 at Gethsemane Cemetery in Upsala.
Edna was a longtime employee of the Telephone Company, both in Minneapolis and Duluth. She spent her retired years as an avid volunteer, with daily visits to seniors centers and her church group. Edna brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew her. She was a giving, caring, beautiful lady and will be one of heaven’s brightest stars!
Survivors include one sister, Frances Groth of Little Falls, MN; nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur; four brothers, Helmer, Vernon, Gordon and Gilbert.
