Margaret C. Hanson
Margaret C. Hanson 87, of East Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Margaret Carolyn Hanson was born on July 3, 1918 in Grand Forks, Minnesota, on September 6, 1963 she married Casper Hanson in East Grand Forks, North Dakota, Duane (Donita) Bratvold, of Sioux City, North Dakota, Janet Little, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kenneth Bratvold, New Ulm, Minnesota, 26 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, sister; Helga Pruett, Grand Forks, North Dakota, passed away on Wednesday ~ July 6, 2005 at Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Halvor and Nora (Grande) Brokke. Lillian grew up in rural Buxton and attended school there. Lillian operated a beauty parlor in Buxton. In 1940 she married A. Conrad Sundeen. They moved to Clifford, Minnesota. Lillian worked at the Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. They later lived in Mesa, AZ. A. Conrad Sundeen died in October of 1987. Lillian married Ervin Hedde in November of 1989 in Mesa, AZ, and spent winters in Mesa, and summers in Buxton.
Family members of Lillian include her children; Linda (Richard) Simpson of Simi Valley, CA, Neal (Jane) Sundeen, Scottsdale, AZ, Randell (Emmy) Sundeen of Simi Valley, CA, stepchildren; Elroy (Sandra) Hedde of Buxton, West Virginia and Lynn (Dorothy) Brokke of Hillsboro, Minnesota died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at his home. Lee was born April 21, 1977, Del Rio, Minnesota his companion Jodi Day and stepson Damon Day of East Grand Forks, Minnesota died peacefully at his winter home in Mesa Minnesota the son of Cashmere “Cash” and Anna (Constant) Cartier. Ken enlisted in the US Navy in March of 1944 and served on the USS Alexander J. Luke. He was honorably discharged in May of 1946, and upon his return graduated from Lafayette High School, Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, Cheri (Jerry) Enright of Mesa, AZ, Gayle (Denny) Nelson of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Mark (Janice) Cartier of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Kari (John) Thoreson of Cedar Rapids, California, Julie (Steve) Buzick of Pella, Minnesota, Connie Schimke of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Rachelle Cartier of Crookston, Minnesota, Carmen Cartier of Minneapolis, Washington, Nhon (Ti) Nguyen of Moorhead, Washington, Kip Cartier of Minneapolis, California. Preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons; Gregory and Thane Cartier, 2 sisters; Leone Carlson, Mary Ann Brill, 2 brothers; Leo and Leonard Cartier.
Donal Rahe Nudell
Donal Rahe Nudell, 78, East Grand Forks, North Dakota the son of Charles and Emma (Gossell) Nudell. He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1945. Donal served in the US Army from 1946 to 1948 as a military policeman, mostly with the Occupation Forces in Japan. He returned and attended North Dakota. He met Mary Jane Meldahl while in Finley and they were married in 1955. He then taught music at Tioga, Minnesota where he became principal of River Heights Elementary School and in 1981, moved to Valley Elementary School. He was a member of state and national principals’ associations and numerous other professional groups. Donal retired in 1989 after a 37 year career in education. Donal was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and choir for over 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Rotary and Lions.
Donal’s passion was people. He enjoyed his profession as an educator and appreciated his many associations with teachers, staff, parents, students and friends. He especially treasured his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren – taking family vacations, relaxing and fishing at the lake, and just getting together as a family.
Donal is survived by his wife; Mary Jane of East Grand Forks, North Dakota, 4 grandchildren; Tiffanie (Shane) Nigbor, Lindsey Koch, Carrie Paukert, Charlie Paukert, a sister: Alba Clancy of Buffalo, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Dennis and Dale and a brother-in-law; Ellis Clancy.
The family prefers memorials to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1515-5th. Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, North Dakota 58206-6002.
James L. Milne
James L. Milne 67, passed away on Tuesday ~ July 12, 2005 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, Minnesota, the son of John and Marie (Swanson) Milne. Jim graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks, North Dakota and then was employed with the East Grand Forks Police Department for 32 years retiring as assistant Chief. Jim was married to Judy Minnesota. Jim then went on and worked for Trans Systems for 10 years. Jim enjoyed time at the lake, family, friends and farming.
Cherished family members of Jim include his wife Judy, sons; Mike Milne of Boynton Beach, FL, Eric Hume of Port Saint Lucie, FL, daughter; Jaime (Rob) Brown of Westminster, CO, two sisters; Jackie Mittun of Austin, MN, Muriel (David) Leavitt of Mohall, ND.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Ross Milne.
Paul J. Hanson Sr.
Paul J. Hanson Sr. 67, of East Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Paul Julian Hanson Sr. was born on April 13, 1938 in St. Thomas, Minnesota and then moved to East Grand Forks, California. They began raising their family in Los Angeles, Minnesota in 1974.Paul taught Auto Mechanics and Truck Diesel Mechanics at the East Grand Forks Technical College for 20 years. His hobby and love of antiques and wood crafting became a family interest and hallmark of his life. Paul was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. He raised his family with the strength and love of our Savior. He encouraged, mentored and challenged all who surrounded him. He taught us patience, kindness, fairness and perseverance by his example and gentle compassion. Paul’s passion was touching the lives of others. This he demonstrated through his love of coaching and teaching. Paul loved life and lived it to the fullest. His greatest joy was showing love to his family and friends.
