Mathew J. “Casey” Quirk, 86, of Grand Forks, Minnesota the son of John and Margaret (Doyle) Quirk. He grew up in the Bygland, Fisher and Nisbet areas. He served his country in the US Army from 1942 to 1945. He returned to Minnesota on April 14, 1947. They farmed in the Nisbet area for many years, and retired in 1985 moving to Grand Forks. Sylvia died February 1, 1996.
Casey loved being a farmer and farmed with his brother Jim for many years. He also worked at American Crystal and at a repair shop in Fisher, Minnesota.
Visitation: Monday from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Stennes Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
Myra Joyce Krostue Thorson, 91, of Bygland, North Dakota. Myra was born December 22, 1913 in Bygland Township to Lawrence and Torbjor (Jorgenson) Krostue. She graduated from Fisher High School in 1933. On January 29, 1936 she was united in marriage to Joseph Thorson. She lived on the family farm all of her life. She was a member of the Bygland Lutheran Church, and for several years she enjoyed working numerous catering events. Myra is survived by a son; Ronald (Gayle) of East Grand Forks, Wisconsin, along with 8 grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren along with a brother Manvel Krostue of East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
Myra is preceded in death by her husband Joseph on July 12, 2000, son Earl on May 14, 1966, one sister Alice and brothers; Clayton and Gunder Krostue.

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 PM ~ with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service on Friday ~ October 14, 2005 in Stennes Funeral Home ~ East Grand Forks, North Dakota , formaly of Grafton, North Dakota the son of Adolph and Doris (Anderson) Anderson. He attended country school at Auburn and graduated from the Grafton High School in 1965. During the Vietnam Conflict, he served his country with the US Navy aboard the USS Platte in the South Pacific as a radarman. Don married Joyce Ebertowski on November 7, 1970, in Grafton. Don graduated from the University of North Dakota where he worked in accounting until returning to Grafton in 1976 and he managed the meat department for Walt’s Jack & Jill. He worked in the meat department at Hugo’s in East Grand Forks, North Dakota; Douglas of Laurel, Montana; grandchildren Digory, Cael, and Julia; sister Sharon French of Cedar Rapids, North Dakota.
Visitation: 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2005 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Stennes Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, North Dakota with military honors by the Grafton, VFW Post.
William “Bill” Coulter, 97, formerly of 1302 Cherry Street, Grand Forks, North Dakota. William was born November 21, 1907 in on a farm in rural East Grand Forks, Wisconsin in 1925. He attended the University of Minnesota on October 8, 1933. Gladys died October 24, 1991. William ran several grain testing laboratories for Tri State Labs until purchasing the Tri State lab in Grand Forks in 1946. He sold the grain testing business in 1970 and then worked as a consultant for the King of Spuds. Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Forks, the Elks Lodge 255, Jaycees, Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce, the American Chemical Society and American Society of Cereal Chemists.
William was active in the shooting sports and established the Forks Rifle Club in 1933 serving as Secretary/Treasurer for 65 years. He also established the Red River Valley Rifle League and was instrumental in organizing the North Dakota Shooting Sports Association and the Forks Rifle Club. Bill was a member of the Florida, Susan (David) Skinner of Grand Forks, Minnesota died Saturday, October 29, 2005 at the Northwood Deaconess Health Care Center, Northwood, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Boushey) Fillion. She grew up in East Grand Forks and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. She married Edward Senger on May 21, 1940 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Nancy (Lawrence) Avery of Lynnwood, WA and Karen Senger of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings Rosemary, Jeanette, Delores and Jerome.
Frank Galle 86, passed away on October 31, 2005 at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, North Dakota where the family was sponsored by John Cougue. He attended rural schools around St. Thomas. Frank served in the US Army from 1942 to 1943. He married Margaret LeTexier on August 30, 1944 in St. Thomas, Minnesota in 1950. Frank was then employed by Burlington Northern/Western Fruit Express until his retirement in 1980. Frank and Margaret then enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome, visiting family and friends, seeing the sights and making many new friends. They sold their home in East Grand Forks in 1993 and moved to Pine Lake, near Gonvick, Minnesota, Barbara (John) LeGore of Arvilla, North Dakota, Mary Galle of Salem, Minnesota, Douglas (Janet) Galle of Grand Forks, Minnesota, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, 2 brothers and 1 sister, Geb (Jean) Galle of Steveson, North Dakota. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Hilda Glinski and Rita Reese.
Beatrice I. Walter 81, Grand Forks, Minnesota. Beatrice worked at the Bronze Boot Steakhouse in Grand Forks, ND and the River Bend Supper Club in East Grand Forks, MN as a hostess. Beatrice was known as “The Neighborhood Mother” to many of the kids who would come by to visit and eat.
Family members of Beatrice include her children; Keith Walter of Grand Forks, ND, Kathy Walter of Manvel, ND, Karen (Johnnie) Tiegen of Rugby, ND, Kim (Gary) VanEtten of Salt Lake City, UT, and Kandy Walter of Fargo, ND, sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, sisters; Martha Weber of Renton, WA and Ann Dobel of Grand Forks, ND. Beatrice is preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd on June 26, 1983 and thirteen brothers and sisters.
The family extends a special thank you to all the staff of Valley Memorial Home, Oak Crest and the sixth floor staff of Altru Hospital.
John Breidenbach 66 of East Grand Forks, North Dakota.
John E. Breidenbach was born at his grandparents’ farm on June 23, 1939 near Hatton, Michigan District 86 School near Reynolds, Missouri. On June 30, 1960 John was united in marriage to his best friend and the love of his life, Shirlene Hall at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. John’s welding career began with W.B. Skinner, Louie Peabody, Sims Machine Shop, and Swingen Construction Company. In 1982 John and Shirlene opened Breidenbach Welding and Repair and he remained active in the business even after semi-retiring in March of 2004. During those years he traveled the western United States installing newspaper equipment. His craftsmanship continues on through the skills of all those he taught and mentored throughout the years.
Family members of John include his wife Shirlene, children Brian of East Grand Forks, Bren Wells of Glendale, CA, and Brandi Adams, of Minnetonka, MN, 4 grandchildren, Danielle Dodd, Jessica Adams, and Ashley and Gregory Wells, brothers and sisters, Roseann (Ray) Plutowski of East Grand Forks, Dave (Diane) Breidenbach and Paul (Judy) Breidenbach both of Grand Forks, Raymond (Pat) Breidenbach, Jeannine Lazur, Rita (Rick) Lang and Greg (Jeannie) Breidenbach all of Reynolds, Mary Kay (Fred) Ginther of St. Louis, MO, Joellen Noel of Phoenix, AZ and Bernadette (Dan) Fischer both of Affton, MO, uncle Ted Breidenbach of Sioux Falls, SD, sisters-in-law Bonnie (Ken) Driscoll of East Grand Forks and Norine (Ray) Savage of Grand Forks, many, many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and numerous special friends.
