Allan H. Erickson 65, Fargo, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday ~ December 8, 2005 at Merit Care Hospital, Fargo, Minnesota the son of T. Alvin and Hilda (Benson) Erickson. He graduated from the Fisher High School and attended NDSU, Fargo, North Dakota, a sister, Yvonne Harnisch of Fridley, Minnesota, William Harnisch of Pine, Colorado and 2 great nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Hilda Elaine Erickson and a brother-in-law, Leonard Harnisch.
Allen Thureen, 79, East Grand Forks, Minnesota the son of John Oscar and Clara (Flatten) Thureen. He graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston in 1943. He served in the US Marine Corp and then attended the University of Minnesota. He worked for Associated Potato Growers for over 40 years, was a member of the East Grand Forks Lions and a life-long member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
He is survived by daughters, Patti Thureen (husband Ken Baum), Denver, Colorado, and Ann Thureen (husband Jim Dew), Minneapolis, Oregon, brother-in-law Dick Widseth, of Bemidji, Minnesota passed away on Monday December 12, 2005, at her home.
Joyce Sorenson was born September 11, 1930, at Crookston, Minnesota. Joyce worked as a rural mail carrier out of East Grand Forks and they farmed in the Bygland-Fisher, Minnesota, Myra Jo (Dale) Borchers, Princeton, Minnesota, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oliver on February 3, 2005, two sisters; Carol Nygaard and an infant sister.
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Fisher Minnesota died Friday, December 16, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center in Barnesville, North Dakota the son of Sigmar and Laura (Herman) Johnson. He received his education at Bantry and Towner, North Dakota in 1939. He married Betty Gillis on October 19, 1942 in Crookston, North Dakota Mill and Elevator in Grand Forks. He moved from East Grand Forks to Lake Park, Minnesota, and Terry Johnson of Reno, Minnesota died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at home with family by her side. Lucille was born on November 26, 1918 in East Grand Forks, Oregon, Nancy Bushaw, Nadine DeLeon, Terry (Lynette) Hofland, Tom (Lori) Hofland, Tammie Grabinski all of East Grand Forks, North Dakota, 28 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Beatrice Dudgeon of East Grand Forks, California and Vivian Crosby of Lancaster, Michigan the son of Gorgonio and Felipa (Rosales) Campos. Enrique grew up in Crystal City, Texas. He worked as a migrant farm worker in the Midwest until settling in East Grand Forks, North Dakota Mill and Elevator. Enrique loved his family and was the one who kept in touch with everyone.
He is survived by his wife Cristina, East Grand Forks, Florida, two sons; Federico “Fred” Campos and Enrique Jr. “Henry” Campos both of East Grand Forks, Texas, Francisco of Alviso, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Martina Campos Balderas.
Thorvald “T.A.” Moe, 89, passed away on Sunday ~ January 1, 2006, at his home in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, the son of Ole and Tone (Austad) Moe. Thorvald grew up in the Bygland, Minnesota. On Nov 5, 1940 he was united in marriage to Margaret Gilbertson in Fisher, Minnesota, and enjoyed going to cattle & horse sales. He and Margaret retired from farming and moved to Fisher, Minnesota, Roger (Becky) Moe, Randy (Susan) Moe both of Bygland, Arizona, John (Shirley) Moe of El Paso, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thorvald is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter; Carol Egeland, 2 sisters; Helga Johnson, Solveig LeBlanc, 4 brothers; Andrew, Herman, John and an infant, Thorvald.
Paul R. Hemberger, 45, of Grand Forks, Nebraska the son of Eugene and Germaine (Kolbet) Hemberger. He was raised on a farm in Juniata, NE but attended St. Cecilia High School in Hastings, NE. It was in Juniata that he found his love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing in the area and continued to do so when he moved to Grand Forks in 1982. He also loved to hunt, snow cat and ice fish with his wife of 15 years Carla and his friends Keith Charbonneau of Fargo, North Dakota and best friend Jim Mooney of Hastings, NE. Paul enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters Lindsey and Becky. He was a kind and loving person who loved to laugh and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Melquiades “Carla” (Avila) of Grand Forks, stepson Angel “Benji” (Lori) Lopez, 2 grandchildren Lindsey and Becky Lopez all of Manchester, Minnesota, his parents of Hastings, NE, 3 brothers, Gordon Hemberger, Mark Hemberger, both of Hastings, NE, Lamont (Susan) Hemberger of Juniata, NE, 2 sisters, Mary (Doug) Volkmer, and Laura (Scott) Rosno both of Hastings, NE and many nieces and nephews.
Services: 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks, Minnesota passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, Minnesota one of 3 children of Clarence and Evelyn (Baggerud) Grothe.He married Margaret “Marge” Hailey on July 27, 1957 in San Francisco, Minnesota for over 15 years. He then went back to work for New Flyer delivering buses for a couple of years until his health forced him to stop.
He is survived by two daughters; Tracy (Craig) Johnson of West Fargo, Minnesota, and 1 sister Audrey (Jim) Tronnes of Shelly, Minnesota.
Burial: Shelly Lutheran Cemetery, Shelly, North Dakota.
Visitation: Friday from 5-7 PM with a 6:00 PM prayer service at the Stennes Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, North Dakota died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at her home. Beverly Raymond was born March 7, 1938 in Grand Forks, Minnesota on March 18, 1989.
She is survived by children Debra Tupa (Rick Wockovich) of East Grand Forks, North Dakota, Jerry (Sherry) Tupa of Champlin, North Dakota, step children Tom (Darlene) Raymond of Grand Forks, Washington, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Darlene Mitzger of Coon Rapids, Parker of Grand Forks, Jana (Roger) Corbett of Grand Forks and their son Brandon. She is preceded in death by her husband Calvin and her parents.
Services: 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, Minnesota and 1 hour before services at the church.
