Hershel D. Perryman
February 13th, 2005

Hershel Dempsey Perryman, age 85, of Warsaw, passed away Sunday evening, February 13, 2005, at Bothwell Regional Health Care Center in Sedalia, Missouri. He was born on March 23, 1919, in Windyville, Missouri, the son of Stacy A. and Miriam Duncan Perryman, Sr.

He grew up in Windyville, Missouri.

On January 19, 1939, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Bradshaw at Buffalo, Missouri and unto this union, 7 children were born. Shortly following their marriage, Hershel was drafted into the United States Army. He served overseas in Germany and France during World War II. He was honorably discharged and returned to Windyville.

He was a self-employed mechanic and after moving to Lebanon, Missouri, he managed a service station.

They lived at Henrietta, Missouri, for 16 years before moving in 1988 to their home in Warsaw. On January of this year, Hershel and Myrtle celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary with their family.

Hershel was an avid fisherman and could be found almost daily fishing with his favorite dog and best friend, first "Babe" and then "Lucky".

Hershel attended the First Baptist Church of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Clyde Cleo Perryman and Kenneth Dean Perryman, two grandsons, Dennis Perryman and Jeffrey Dean Pelsor, and two brothers, Everett Perryman and Cecil Perryman.

Surviving is his devoted wife, Myrtle, of the home, one son, Howard Lee, and his wife, Alma Perryman of Mount Ida, Arkansas, four daughters, Evelyn Deloris Pelsor of Kansas City, Missouri, Z. Nadine, and her husband, Scott Mummaw, of Lake Tapawingo, Missouri, Carolyn Fay Daniel and Marilyn Kay Perryman, both of Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Perryman of Belton, Missouri, 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, one brother, Stacy A. and his wife, Phyllis Perryman, Jr., of Spring Hope, North Carolina, two sisters, Mary Catherine McAdams of San Antonio, Texas and Dixie Kay Friend of Troy, Alabama, a sister-in-law, Catherine A. Perryman of Oceanside, California, 13 nieces and 8 nephews, other relatives and a host of many friends.

Funeral services for Hershel D. Perryman will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 17, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rev. Wayne Isgriggs officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 P.M., Wednesday at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. Memorials may be made to Variety The Children’s Charity of Greater Kansas City or the American Heart Association.

Barbara J. Medlock
February 12th, 2005

Barbara Jean Medlock, age 40, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away, Saturday, February 12, 2005, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 11, 1965 in Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of Jack Dale and Bonnie Mace Roark.

She grew up in Lincoln, and graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1983. While in high school she was active in the choir, singing in competitions all over the state. On April 2, 1983 she was united in marriage to Claudale Medlock at the Full Gospel Church in Cole Camp, Missouri , then making their home in the Benton County area. She owned and operated Barb’s creations for several years.

Barbara enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to sing and play the piano for her family and friends. She also was known for her cooking, especially her Sunday breakfast. You also would find her outdoors, hunting, fishing, looking for mushrooms and planting flowers.

She was a member of the Ozark Tabernacle Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Opal and a father-in-law Gervis Medlock.

She is survived by her husband Claudale; one daughter Elizabeth Dominis, and her husband Tony, of Lincoln, and one son Matthew Medlock, and his fiancee Dovie, of Warsaw, two sisters Darlene Johnson and her husband Jim, Kathy Medlock and her husband Johnny, all of Warsaw, one brother, Charles Roark and his wife Sandra, also of Warsaw. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Annaleah Medlock and Makayla Dominis, with two grandchildren on the way, nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends. Barbara was always full of love and joy and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services for Barbara J. Medlock will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, in Lincoln, with Rev. Johnny Medlock, officiating. Interment will be in the Lincoln Cemetery, in Lincoln. Visitation will be held, Tuesday, February 15, from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jr. Johnson, Kelly Welch, Pete Reimund, Willie Mace, Travis Mace, Michael Medlock Chad Ellis and Chuck Roark. Honorary pallbearers will be Arlie Knox, Lawrence Casey, David Casey, Aaron Medlock, Tom Self, James Medlock and Bernie Nannenman.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Benton County Hospice or the Ozark Building fund, in c/o of the Davis-Miller Funeral Home.

Ruby Bryan
February 12th, 2005

Ruby Marie Bryan, age 84, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2005, at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home, in Lincoln.

She was born on May 29, 1920, in Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of James & Velma Rodgers Currier.

Ruby attended school in the Sedalia area, graduating from Knob Noster High School Class of 1939. She later attended beautician school in Knob Noster.

On September 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Marshall Bryan in Sedalia. Following their marriage, they made their home in Sedalia, where she was employed at Levi-Strauss for many years and later owned and operated B&B; Recreation in Sedalia. In 1968, they moved to Warsaw where they owned and operated Mrs. B’s Donut Shop until retirement in 1996.

Ruby was an active member of the Sedalia Democrat Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Pauline Bryan.

She is survived by two sons, Marshall E. Bryan, of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Gary D. Bryan of Blue Springs, Missouri, three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Ruby Bryan will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, with visitation to be held from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday.

Burial will be held at the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Lincoln Community Nursing Home, c/o the funeral home.

James LeRoy Evans
February 11th, 2005

James LeRoy Evans, age 77, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 11, 2005 at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home, in Lincoln, Missouri.

He was born on November 27, 1927 in Wyandotte County, Kansas, the son of Bert and Hazel Hageman Evans.

He lived and grew up Wyandotte County, Kansas, and graduated from Wyandotte High School.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served overseas.

On September 12, 1964, he was united in marriage to Darlene Hyzer, in Kansas City, Kansas. They made their home in Raytown, Missouri, where he worked for the Rock Island Railroad, retiring in 1978, after 34 years of service.

After retirement, he moved to Warsaw, Missouri and worked 5 years for the MFA of Warsaw.

He was a member of the Shawnee Masonic Lodge #653 A.F. & A.M. serving as Master Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and the Warsaw Shrine Club

He was preceded in death by his parents; one half-brother, Raymond and a half-sister, Verna Rose.

He is survived by his wife Darlene, of the home; two sons, Daniel Evans and his wife, Patty, of Omaha, Neb. and Michael Evans, of Warsaw. He is also survived by a step-son, Keith Pierson, and his wife Linda, of Peculiar, Missouri, a step-daughter Mindy Hunsberger of Mercerburg, PA, one sister, Helen White, of Kansas City, Kansas, one half-brother, Robert Evans, and his wife Loretta, of Nebraska, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Also surviving are nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services for James L. Evans will be at the Spring Branch Cemetery, in Avery, Missouri, Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Russell Lucas, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Benton County Hospice.

Fannie L. Stephens
February 6th, 2005

Fannie Lenora Stephens age 78, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away February 6, 2005 at her home.

She was born on December 26, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Burton & Sylvia Grogan.

On January 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Thomas Stephens, in Kansas City, Missouri. They made their home in Kansas City, moving to the Warsaw area in 1974.

She was a member of the Unity Church.

She enjoyed, cooking, playing bingo and being outdoors, fishing. She also loved to help her neighbors out, when in need.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Harry Thomas Ayers II and William Ayers and one great-grandson, Dillon Thomas Parks.

She is survived by her husband Thomas, of the home; one daughter Virginia Lee Green of Chatsworth, GA., six grandchildren and seventeen great-children and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the Reser Funeral Home in, Warsaw, MO.

Interment will be in the Higginsville, Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

Ross Hall
February 4th, 2005

Robert Ross Hall, age 72, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Friday morning, February 4, 2005, at the Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia, Missouri.

He was born on March 6, 1932, in Benton, Kansas, the son of Frank D. and Meda Duncan Hall.

Ross made his home in Overland Park, Kansas, where he was employed as truck driver for Shock Transfer in Kansas City, Kansas, for 27 years.

On December 3, 1983, he was united in marriage to Carol Tritle. They continued to make there home in the Kansas City area, until moving to Lebanon, Missouri in 1994 and later to Warsaw, Missouri in 1996.

Ross was a member of Teamsters Local #41, of Kansas City, Missouri. He enjoyed playing the steel guitar, flying small engine aircraft and was a Winchester nut.

Ross is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Pearl Hall.

He is survived by his wife Carol, of the home, three daughters, Monica Smith and her husband Michael, of Independence, Missouri, Janet Armstrong and her husband Rick, of Wichita, Kansas and Tammy Reynolds and her husband Lawrence, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, three step-sons, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday evening, February 7, 2005 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.

Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at the Benton Cemetery, in Benton, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Benton County Hospice or the American Cancer Society in care of the Reser Funeral Home, P.O. Box 910, Warsaw, Missouri 65355.

Leta Bybee
February 2nd, 2005

Leta M. Bybee, age 91, of Warsaw, passed away Wednesday evening, February 2, 2005, at the Warsaw Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on July 31, 1913, in Avery, Missouri, the daughter of Walter and Ada Breshears Button.

She was united in marriage to John W. Dawson on December 19, 1929. They made their home on the family farm near Warsaw, where, unto this union, one daughter, Betty, was born.

She was employed as a cashier clerk for Warsaw Cash Hardware for 30 years, until retiring in 1978.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, in 1994.

In 1996, she was united in marriage to Shelly Bybee. They continued to make their home in Warsaw.

He preceded her in death in 2000.

She was a founding charter member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Warsaw, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years. She also served as church secretary for a number of years.

Leta enjoyed cooking and was famous in this community for her fried chicken and homemade pies. She enjoyed playing the piano and was very proficient, even though she lacked the ability to read music. However, her favorite activity was spending time with her family.

Leta was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lena Jenkins, one brother, Roy Button, and one great-grandson, Greg Lutman.

She is survived by her daughter Betty Lutman and her husband, Curt, one grandson, Lance Lutman and his wife Mary, and one granddaughter Jan Adams and her husband Rick, all of Warsaw, three great-grandchildren, Scott, Darin & Ryan, three great-great-grandchildren, Beau, Chance and Ashton, two brothers, Ralph & Ray Button, of Warsaw, several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Leta Bybee, will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 5, 2005, at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Warsaw, with Rev. Bill Hix, officiating.

Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.

Burial will be in the National Cemetery near Warsaw.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Chambers, Darin Lutman, Ryan Adams, Ron Jenkins, Edwin Bybee and Kurt Anderson.

The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Benton County Cancer Fund in care of the funeral home.

Darrell L. Barnes
January 27th, 2005

Darrell L. Barnes, age 75, of Cole Camp, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp, Missouri.

He was born on December 19, 1929, in Henry County, Missouri, the son of Jasper William and Mary Hopkins Barnes.

He made his home in Henry, and Benton County, all of his life and for the past nine years, he has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lewis and Leland Barnes and two sisters, Lucille Hammond and one died in infancy.

He is survived by two brothers, Ervin Barnes of Warsaw and Lowell Barnes of Cole Camp, two sisters, Lou Ellen Borgman of Odessa and Lila Mae Schroiach of Libby, Montana, numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services and Interment will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Riverside Cemetery, with Rev. Jason McCray officiating.

No visitation.

Arrangements by the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
