Kenneth N. Turner
January 27th, 2005

Kenneth N. Turner, age 76, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away Thursday morning, January 27, 2005, at the Boone Regional Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born in North Kansas City, Missouri, on April 22, 1928, the son of William Huey and Sarah Matilda O’Dell Turner.

He grew up in North Kansas City, and on November 1, 1947, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Christine Woodroof.

He worked as a truck driver for over twenty years, driving his own rig, over-the-road, delivering freight coast-to-coast. He retired from trucking in 1975, and he and his wife worked together in numerous locations, as roving maintenance workers, caretakers, and landscape work for many years. In 2000, they moved to their home near Lincoln, Missouri.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home, two sons, Jerry W. Turner, of Lincoln, Missouri, and Kenny Turner, of Windsor, Missouri, three daughters, Layton C. Chance, of Lincoln, Kathy N. Faust, of Windsor and Alice Joyce Hodge, of Corpus Christi, Texas, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one nephew, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 29, 2005, at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln, Missouri.

Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery near Lincoln.

Pallbearers are Earl Wayne Pierce, William Eugene Pierce, Jerry W. Turner, Kenneth Revere Turner, Brian Faust, and Kenneth Dale Turner.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Isa F. "Peggy" Healzer
January 25th, 2005

Isa F. "Peggy" Healzer, age 98, of Warsaw, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Lincoln, Missouri.

She was born on January 18, 1907, in Mercer, Missouri, the daughter of Shannon and Mattie Smith Melton.

Her childhood was spent in Beloit, Kansas, and at the age of 14, she moved with her family to Hutchinson, Kansas.

On December 31, 1932, she was united in marriage to Herman Healzer. They made their home in Hutchinson and she was a homemaker, wife and mother.

In 1994, she moved to Warsaw, to be near her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman in 1972 and a granddaughter, Linda Schmidt in 1992.

Surviving are two sons, James Healzer of San Jose, California, and Dennis Healzer of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and one daughter, Jeane Worth of Warsaw, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Isa F. "Peggy" Healzer will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 28, 2005, at the Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Frank T. Purvis
January 24th, 2005

Frank Toledo Purvis, age 79, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Monday morning, January 24, 2005, at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri.

He was born in Louisburg, Kansas, on August 10, 1925, the son of Bruce Toledo and Pear Schmoller Purvis.

Frank attended the University of California at Berkley.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the regular Navy from 1942 to 1949. He served in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945 and in the forward area from 1943 to 1945. At age twenty, he was one of the youngest ever advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, having moved through the rates from Apprentice Seaman to Chief. He received his permanent appointment to Chief from Admiral Strague, Chief of Naval Operations

On May 18, 1946, he was united in marriage to Rose Agnes Lillis at the Methodist Church in Avondale, Missouri, by Rev. Thomas Hall. To this union, two sons were born.

Frank was baptized while serving in the Pacific in 1943. He was a member of the Platte Woods Methodist Church and an associate member of the Warsaw United Methodist Church. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

He retired from Yellow Freight System after spending thirty years in the transportation industry.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Rev. Bruce Purvis, three sisters, and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Rose, of the home, one son, Dr. Frank B. Purvis, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 29th, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Diana Loomis officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday prior to the services.

Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Warsaw.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Benton County Cancer Fund in care of the funeral home.

Sibyl A. Robertson
January 22, 2005

Sibyl A. Robertson, age 85, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away, Saturday January 22, 2005 at the Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, Missouri.

She was born on October 19, 1919, in Burlington Junction, Missouri, the daughter of Oval A. and Rachel G. Yates West.

She grew up and spent most of your childhood years in Burlington Junction, Missouri.

On July 23, 1938, she was united in marriage to John Robertson, at the Methodist Church, in Burlington Junction, Missouri. After their marriage, they made their home in Tarkio, Missouri. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas, in 1941, moving to Warsaw, Missouri in 1980.

Sibyl was a wonderful homemaker, who loved gardening, tending to her flowers and watching hummingbirds.

She was a devoted Christian and a loving wife and mother. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw.

She was a past president of the P.T.A., she served on the Board of Directors, of the Grinter Chapel United Methodist Church in Kansas, where she also taught Sunday school for many years, and a member of the Church Choir. She was an active Cub Scout Leader and Blue Bird - Campfire Leader for many years. She had also devoted her time where she worked for the Wyandotte County Home Health Demonstration Unit making cancer bandages for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, Joe.

She is survived by her husband, John of the home; two sons, John R. "Dick" Robertson and his wife Marge, of Stover, Missouri, and David Robertson and his wife, Beverly, of Gladstone, Missouri, one daughter, Carol George, and her husband, Curt, of Blue Springs, Missouri, two sisters, Jean Storz, of Kansas City, Kansas and Marion Toman of Raleigh, South Carolina, one brother, Oval West and his wife, Beverly, of Topeka, Kansas. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Sibyl A. Robertson will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home, in Warsaw, with Dr. Diana Loomis, officiating.

Graveside services will be held 11:30 A.M., Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Kansas City, Kansas.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Association, the First United Methodist of Warsaw or the American Cancer Society, in c/o of the Reser Funeral Home.

Joshua D. Rime
January 20, 2005

Joshua David Rime, age 18, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Thursday morning, January 20, 2005, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile collision near Warsaw, Missouri.

He was born in Minot, North Dakota, on January 14, 1987, the son of Darren G. and Sheila Ann Ramsey Rime.

At the age of two, he moved with his family to California. On April 5, 1992, he and his mother came to make their home near Warsaw. Joshua was a Senior Class student at Warsaw High School. He was a member of the Warsaw High School Madrigal Choir and the Warsaw High School Band. He was an avid computer buff and had made plans to study computer technology at ITT Tech in Kansas City after graduation. And had worked after school hours at the Lila’s Touch of Glass shop on Main Street in Warsaw.

He was baptized on Mother’s Day in 1998 and joined the River Church in Warsaw, attending Sunday School and church services there for the past ten years. On Wednesday evening, Jan. 19th, he celebrated his eighteenth birthday with family and friends with a party at the church.

Josh is survived by his mother, Sheila, of the home, his father, Darren G. Rime, of Billings, Montana, one brother, Derek, of the home, his step-father, John Weaver, of Warsaw, his paternal grandparents, Clifford & Vanona Rime, of Garrison, North Dakota, his maternal grandparents, George & Nancy Ramsey, of Williston, North Dakota, his step-grandmother, Marjorie Weaver, of Warsaw, several aunts & uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 24th, 2005, at the River Church in Warsaw, with Revs. Sam & Denise Hinkle officiating.

Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening athe Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.

Burial will be in the Turkey Creek Chapel Cemetery near Warsaw.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Joshua D. Rime Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

Glen L. Daniels
January 18, 2005

Glen L. Daniels, age 68, of Warsaw, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, January 18, 2005, at his home.

He was born on July 11, 1936, in Bedford, Iowa, the son of Francis and Hazel Stickleman Daniels.

Most of his life was spent in Council Bluffs and Carter Lake, Iowa. He was a truck driver for Witco and Ag-International, retiring on July 1, 2003. On March 1, 2004, he moved to Warsaw, MO.

Surviving is wife, Carol Daniels, of the home, one son, Mike Daniels and wife, Delores and one daughter, Kim Daniels, all of Council Bluffs, two grandchildren, Maggie and Adam Daniels, three brothers, Ralph Daniels and his wife, Eleanor, and Roy Daniels, and his wife, Mary, all of Maryville, Missouri, and Doyle Daniels and his wife, Maryann of Warsaw, a sister-in-law, Marilyn Daniels of Eaglegrove, Iowa, a step-son, Steven Sempek, of Omaha, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation. Memorial services for Glen Daniels will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw with Fr. Richard Colbert officiating.

Memorial contributions mad be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Helen I. Kelso
January 18, 2005

Helen Irene Kelso, age 75, of Warsaw, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2005, at Bothwell Regional Health Care Center in Sedalia, Missouri.

She was born on August 19, 1929, in Macks Creek, Missouri, the daughter of Walter S. and Velma Osborn Kelso.

She grew up in Macks Creek and moved to Kansas City, Missouri. She worked at Hallmark Cards for 32 years, retiring in December of 1985. Following her retirement, she moved to Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Earl DeGraffenreid.

Surviving is one son, Danny Kelso, of Maywood, Missouri, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, a brother, Johnnie Kelso and a sister, Mary Hart, both of Warsaw, two nephews, Earl Kelso and Randy Hart, both of Warsaw, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Helen I. Kelso will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw.

No Visitation.

Terry D. McCain
January 16, 2005

Terry D. McCain, age 53, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2005 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born on May 27, 1951 in Marshall, Missouri, the son of Harold and Dee McCain.

He grew up in Lincoln, Missouri, and graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1969.

He worked as a real estate agent, in Lincoln, for many years. He then moved to Oklahoma, for a few years, where he ran heavy equipment. In the early 1990's, he moved to Springfield, Missouri, where he worked as a Com Troller, for a transport trucking company.

He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and watching football. He was also known to pick a tune on his guitar. He loved spending time with his family who he loved very much. He was always full of laughter, and will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Mike.

Surviving is a daughter, Erin Straw and her husband B.J. of Clinton, Missouri, two brothers, Doug McCain, and his wife, Nancy of Lincoln, Missouri, and Tracy McCain of Warrensburg, Missouri, one sister Donna Roberts, and her husband, David, also of Warrensburg. Other survivors include nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services for Terry D. McCain will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be B.J. Straw, Jeff White, Kevin McCain, Doug McCain, Bob Rigby and Matt Roberts.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Roberts, Kenny Brant, Tracy McCain and Chris McCain.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in c/o of the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln.
