Vanita Nichols
December 31st, 2004

Alma Vanita Nichols, age 88, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away Friday evening, December 31, 2004, at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri.

She was born in Hickory County, Missouri, on July 31, 1916, the daughter of Everett and Zetta Roberts Ray.

At the age of eighteen, she went to Kansas City. For the first few years, she worked for the telephone company. During World War II, she was employed at North American Aviation where they built the B 25 Bomber.

Following the war, she owned & operated her own beauty shop called "The Glamorette", last located near 39th & Troost.

In 1974, she moved to the Edwards community, to make her home with Jim Green. There she ran her beauty shop out of her home for a while, but was most content to care for her farm animals and tend to her flowers. She was forever perturbed by those "little yellow flowers" that grew in her yard, diligent to pluck out every last one, only to do it all again the next day.

Vanita is survived by her devoted companion, Jim Green, of the home, two nephews, Gary Ray and Jimmy Ray, both of Edwards, and Vanita Tripp, of Kansas City, Missouri, several cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside funeral services & burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 4, 2005, at the Bethel Campground Cemetery near Edwards, Missouri, with Rev. Francis Cline officiating.

Pallbearers are Bill Harper, Bobby Milton, Claud Rush, Jim Whitworth, Clay Green, and Cecil Green.

Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bethel Campground Cemetery.

Leslie Ann McClung Vaughn
December 30th, 2004

Leslie Ann McClung Vaughn, age 40, passed away Friday evening, December 30, 2004, at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri.

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 12, 1964, the daughter of Robert William and Janice Mary Butler McClung.

She grew up in Liberty, Missouri, and graduated Liberty High School in the class of 1983.

On May 11, 1985, she was united in marriage to Frank R. Vaughn, Jr. in Liberty. They made their in Liberty, where they would raise their family of two sons and one daughter.

In 1999, Leslie and her children moved to Warsaw, Missouri. There, she was employed as a medical technician at the Warsaw Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Leslie was a devoted mother to her three children and derived her greatest pleasure from the events involving her family. She loved to play pool and could be found almost every Wednesday night with the gang at the Road House near Warsaw, for the weekly competition.

She is survived by two sons, Chris Vaughn, of Liberty, Missouri, and David Lee Vaughn, of Warsaw, one daughter, Amanda Vaughn, also of Warsaw, her parents, Robert & Janice McClung, of Warsaw, one brother, Terry McClung, of Stewartsville, Missouri, three sisters, Sharon Mullins, of Kansas City, Missouri, Robin Shaw, of Claycomo, Missouri, and Margaret Miller, also of Kansas City. One sister, Mary McClung, preceded her in death.

She is also survived by several aunts & uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.

Cremation.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Frank L. Cohalla
December 28th, 2004

Frank L. Cohalla, age 86, of Warsaw, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.

He was born in Villanueva, Spain, on February 13, 1918, the son of Rafail and josefa Busto Alvares Cohalla.

At the age of 10, he came to the United States, and made his home in Tampa, Florida.

He was a veteran and served in the United States Army-Air Force during World War II.

On February 20, 1944, he was united in marriage to Hellene Pummill. They made their home in Sedalia, and in 1949, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri.

In 1966, they moved to their lake home at Tiptop Resort near Warsaw.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hellene, on May 2, 1984.

He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and the Jay Harris Knights of Columbus of Warsaw.

He was also a member of the Carpenter’s Local #61 of Kansas City, Missouri.

On August 1986, he was united in marriage to Roberta Hackney in Warsaw, when they continued to make their home.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta, of the home, one son, Frank J. Cohalla and his wife, Janet, of Kansas City, Missouri, one daughter, Zonya Hayes and her husband, Bob, of Kearney, Missouri, two step-sons, Douglas Hackney of Kansas City North, Missouri and Dennis Hackney of Mississippi and a step-daughter, Darla Hines, of Drexel, Missouri, five grandchildren, Drew Cohalla, Marissa Roberts, Keri Cohalla, Kristopher Hayes and Dana Scott Hayes, 9 step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren, one brother, Rafail Cohalla of Tampa, Florida and three sisters, Pilar Cohalla and Bertha Holt, both of Tampa, Florida and Josephine Bartel of Nelson, Missouri, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 31, 2004, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Warsaw, Missouri with Fr. Richard Colbert officiating.

Burial and military honors will be in the Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw.

Pallbearers will be Drew Cohalla, Dana Scott Hayes, Kristopher Hayes, John Roberts, Douglas Hackley and David Bartel.

Family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M., Friday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with rosary to be recited at 10:40 A.M. at the church.

Arrangements under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Kathryn Bushnell
December 27th, 2004

Kathryn R. Bushnell, 98, of Warsaw, formerly of Raytown, passed away December 27, 2004 at her home.

She was born in Weir, Kansas, on July 12, 1906, to Lawrence and Lizzie Fassino.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lark, on May 18, 1982, and two brothers, Joe and Jack Fassino.

She is survived by daughters, Lucille Bushnell of the home, and Kathryn Gribble of Raytown, one grandson, Jon Gribble and his wife, Kristi, and one great-granddaughter, Kati.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2004 from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Graveside services will be held at the Lone Elm Cemetery, in Columbus, Kansas, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the loving, kind and caring, Benton County Hospice, P.O. Box 935, Warsaw, Mo. 65355.

Kenneth D. Williamson
December 25th, 2004

Kenneth D. Williamson, age 65, passed away Saturday morning, December 25, 2004, at his home in Warsaw, Missouri.

He was born in Dover, Arkansas, on October 21, 1939, the son of Chester and Bertha Rickett Williamson.

He grew up in the Lee’s Summit, Missouri area.

On October 10, 1968, he was united in marriage to Judith May Combs in Lee’s Summit. They first made their home in Lee’s Summit, moving to Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Conway, Arkansas, and Desoto, Kansas, until 1999.

During those years, he was employed as a diesel mechanic by R. W. Harmon, later know as Allied and then Crabtree & Harmon, a school bus service for metropolitan school districts. He retired in 2000 and moved to Mack’s Camp Development near Warsaw, Missouri, moving into Warsaw earlier this year.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Gloria Dorrell, and other beloved members of the family.

He is survived by his wife, Judith, of the home, one daughter, Lisa Williamson, of Warsaw, one son, David Williamson, of Kansas City, Kansas, four grandchildren, Amber Foley, Trenton Riley, Patrick Williamson and Kurt Doney, two brothers, C. L. Williamson, of Warsaw, and Paul Williamson, of Blairstown, Missouri, five sisters, Louise Haas, of Warsaw, Bonnie Schell, of Kansas City, Missouri, Mildred Teller, of Oak Grove, Missouri, Jeanette Miehl, of Bates City, Missouri, and Judy Smith, of Searcy, Arkansas, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 8, 2005, at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln, Missouri.

Cremation.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Kenneth D. Williamson Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

Paula Jean Spry
December 18th, 2004

Paula Jean Spry, age 45, passed away Saturday evening, December 18, 2004, at the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri.

She was born in Clinton, Missouri, on July 15, 1959, the daughter of David Lee and Ruth E. Long O’Bannon.

She graduated from Blue Spring, Missouri High School in the class of 1976.

On January 20, 1996, she was united in marriage to Stanley D. Spry in Warsaw, Missouri. They made their home on the farm near Warsaw, Missouri.

She was a loving and devoted, wife, mother and grandmother, and very much enjoyed the farm life, most happy to spend her time in the kitchen or crocheting or tending to her cluster chickens, and helping her husband with the daily chores.

Paula is survived by her husband, Stanley, of the home, two daughters, Shawna O’Bannon, and Amanda Jones, both of Clinton, Missouri, one son, Jeremy Jones, also of Clinton, one step-son, Shane Spry, of Lincoln, Missouri, one step-daughter, Sarah Traun, of Grandview, Washington, and seven grandchildren, Brennon Brown, Brittni Brown, RayLee Scribner, Davin Scribner, Mason O’Bannon, Anthony Jones, and Coby Deion. She is also survived by two sisters, Ginger Furnell, of Nashville, Tennessee, and Angela Rialti, of Overland Park, Kansas, one step-sister, Karen Atkins, of Osage Beach, Missouri, one half-brother, Rob Rialti, of Sedalia, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Dale O’Bannon.

She was also preceded in death by her father, David Lee O’Bannon. Other survivors include her mother and step-father, Ruth & Bob Rialti, of Sedalia, Missouri, her step-mother, Billie O’Bannon, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, her maternal grandmother, Helen Scranton, of Urich, Missouri, several aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri.

Burial will be in the Cable Ridge Cemetery near Edwards, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Christopher O’Bannon, Justin O’Bannon, Nathan Furnell, John Spry, Jerry Spry, and Charlie Spry.

Visitation will be prior to the funeral services on Tuesday starting at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

James F. Bledsoe
December 13th, 2004

James F. Bledsoe, age 54, of Pineville, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 13, 2004, at the McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage, Missouri.

He was born on January 1, 1950, in Benton County, Missouri, the son of James D. and Emmagene Ashley Bledsoe.

He made his home in central and southern Missouri, where he worked as a horse trainer for several horse farms throughout the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Surviving is a son, James Matthew Bledsoe of Boonville, Missouri, one daughter, Nellie McCabe of Rothville, Missouri, and a grandson, Joseph McCabe, a brother, James D. Bledsoe of Kansas City, MO and two sisters, Sandra Shores of Pineville and Emma Winters of Kansas City, Missouri, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at the Fredonia Cemetery, Warsaw, with Rev. Jason McCray officiating.

No Visitation.

Family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the James Bledsoe Fund in care of the Reser Funeral Home, P.O. Box 910, Warsaw, MO 65355.

Floyd Miller
December 13th, 2004

Floyd A. Miller, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 13, 2004 at his home.

He was born August 8, 1929 to Charles N. & Phoeba (Macky) Miller in Lycam, Colorado.

On October 7, 1969, he was united in marriage to Ruby (Engelbrecht) Winters, who survives at the home.

Floyd was a member of Poplar Baptist Church, where he was a Trustee & Sunday School Treasurer. He was a faithful member and enjoyed his involvement with all church activities. He served on the camp board at Baptist Ridge Camp.

He was a member of Shawnee Lodge #653 A.F. & A.M. of Ararat Shrine of Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member of the Warsaw Shrine Club, serving as president in 1995 and 1996.

He retired from Yellow Freight System in 1989, after 36 ½ years of driving and belonged to Teamsters Local 41.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1949-1953.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #217 in Warsaw.

Floyd is survived by his wife Ruby of the home, one son Randy Winters of Hot Springs, Arkansas, three daughters; Rebecca Hale and her husband Jim, of Henley, Missouri, Kathleen Johnson, of Tamarac, Florida, Ginger Bromley and her husband Randy, of Pittsboro, North Carolina, nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Evie Gunsolley and her husband Roy of Umatilla, Oregon, one brother-in-law, Cleland Engelbrecht and his wife Mary, of Chino, California, his mother-in-law, Ada Engelbrecht, of Eugene, Missouri, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services for Floyd Miller will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 17, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Rev. Don Liebel, officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, December 16, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home, with Masonic services to begin at 7:30 P.M.

Burial will be in Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Missouri.
