LuElla Ingram
(August 23, 1929 - June 8, 2011)

LuElla Ingram, age 81, passed away Wednesday evening, June 8, 2011, at the Truman Medical Center at Lakewood in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

She was born near Edwards, Missouri, on August 23, 1929, the daughter of Elmer and Gorda Waisner Drennon.

She grew up in Benton County, and graduated from Warsaw High School in the class of 1945. She then taught in a one-room Benton County school in the Nobby community for two years.

On October 5, 1947, she was united in marriage to Vernon Ingram. They made their home on a farm near Edwards until 1953. They then moved to their farm near Lincoln, Missouri, raising cattle and other livestock, hay and row crops, along with their family including one son and one daughter.

She was a farm girl all of her life, living and working with the animals, raising a big garden every year, putting up canned goods for the winter, sewing for her family and quilting those hand-sewn comforters sharing with her family and friends alike. She later enjoyed her work with the Drennon Auction Company at the cattle barn every Wednesday and estate auctions on weekends.

Her husband, Vernon, preceded her in death in 1993. About eight years ago, she moved to Lee's Summit, to be near her daughter's family.

LuElla was a member of the Hickory Chapel Methodist Church near Lincoln.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandson, Drennon Brandsgaard, two sisters, Kathryn Bell and Helen Ozbolt, and one brother, Don Drennon.

She is survived by one daughter, Jo Brandsgaard (Duane), of Lee's Summit, one son, Jack Ingram (Linda), of Kuna, Idaho, six grandchildren, Amy, Abby, Adam, Joella, Josh and Matt, seventeen great-grandchildren, one sister, June Walthall (Larry), of Warsaw, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 13, 2011, at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln, Missouri, with Rev. Roger Pickard officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the funeral services.

Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lincoln R-2 Booster Club or the Benton County Cancer Fund.

A. Louise Burch
(February 18, 1917 - June 15, 2011)

Annie Louise Case Burch, age 94, passed away Wednesday evening, June 15, 2011, at the Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.

She was born near Lincoln, Missouri, on February 18, 1917, the daughter of James and Emma Case.

Louise graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1934. On September 22, 1935, she was married to George Richard Burch. Unto this union one daughter, Dorothy Dee Burch was brought into the world on August 29, 1936.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on March 26, 1988; four sisters; Jenny Nease, Jean Meyers, Minnie Morrison, and Lou McKaid, and one brother, Jim Case. Louise is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Burch, of Knob Noster, Missouri, twenty-eight nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and nephews, fourteen great-great-nieces and nephews, not to mention a host of friends.

Louise was somewhat of a musician. She played the piano for church, the guitar, the saxophone in the school band, and the accordion for her own amusement and entertainment of others.

She liked to garden, mow her lawn, and at age 90 was still driving herself to Clinton, to the doctor, to Warrensburg, if needed, and most important of all to Sedalia for lunch with her brother’s children, a pleasure she pursued at least twice a week. Her last four years were spent in and out of hospitals and nursing homes until November of 2009, she became a resident at the Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg, where she made many friends of staff and residents.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday morning, June 18, 2011, at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln, Missouri, with Rev. Herb Sadler officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, Missouri.

LeRoy E. Risse
(March 28, 1936 - June 19, 2011)

LeRoy E. Risse, age 75, of Warsaw, MO, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died, June 19, 2011, beloved husband of the late Marian Risse, dearest father of Douglas R. Risse (Denise) and Lisa Ann Allen (Jeffrey), dearest son of the late Henry and Frances Risse, dearest grandfather of Jonathan and Rebecca Risse and Julia, Jenna, Mary and Mallory Allen, dear brother and brother-in-law of Friedella Schlicher (Richard), the late Beatrice Greco (Joseph) and Henrietta Ilges and the late (Herman), and beloved uncle of 17 nieces and nephews.

He was educated at Hadley Tech High School graduating with the June class of 1954. He worked as an auto mechanic until May of 1955 at which time he was employed by General Motors in St. Louis starting on the assembly line. He went on to night school at UMSL, Washington University and Florissant Valley Community College. He retired from General Motors as a Reliability Engineer in September of 1987.

LeRoy was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a veteran of the United States Army.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the twin lakes area of Warsaw.

LeRoy will lie in state with the Blessed Sacrament at St. Ann Catholic Church in Warsaw with family to receive friends from 4:30 to 7:30 P.M., Wednesday evening at St. Ann’s with Rosary recited at 7:30 P.M.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 23, 2011, at St. Ann Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Branson officiating.

Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery next to his wife of 40 years.

Pallbearers will be his grandson, Jonathan Risse, his nephews, Joseph Greco, Gary Schlicher, Herman, Henry, Theodore, David and Daniel Ilges.

Honorary Pallbearers are Mitch Payne and Jeff Painter.

Betty Sue Polly
(July 19, 1933 - June 13, 2011)

Betty Sue Polly, age 77, passed away Monday morning, June 13, 2011, at her home in Warsaw, Missouri.

She was born in Eldon, Missouri, on July 19, 1933, the daughter of June & Ann Bledsoe Tyler.

She grew up in the Eldon community.

On July 9, 1949, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Duane Polly in Eldon, Missouri. They first made their home in Iowa, and then returned to Eldon and then to Kansas City, Missouri, from 1962 to 1969. At that time they moved to their home in Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by one son, Kent Polly in 1972.

Betty is survived by her husband, Ken, of the home, five children, Ronda Purl, and her husband, Roger, of Springfield, Missouri, Jim Polly, of Odessa, Missouri, Shannon Ewing, and her husband, Dan, of Warrensburg, Missouri, Trinette Stowell, and her husband, Clay, of Belton, Missouri, and Mike Polly, and his wife, Stacy, of Warsaw, several grandchildren, one brother, Jack Tyler, of California, Missouri, one sister, Beverly Parsons, of Dowd, Iowa, other relatives and friends.

No funeral services are scheduled.

Paul J. Spangler
(November 21, 1924 - June 5, 2011)

Paul Junior Spangler, age 86, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover, Missouri.

He was born on November 21, 1924, in York, Pennsylvania, the son of Paul Henry and Margaret Rebecca Heckert Spangler.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served during World War II. He did his undergraduate studies at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. He then did graduate studies at the University of Ohio and the University of Kansas and he received a PhD from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. He was employed by the U. S. Department of Agriculture and the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service but was then employed by the Smithsonian Institute as an Independent Research Biologist for over forty years.

On March 24, 1948, he was married to Phyllis Miller in York, Pennsylvania. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2010. They had lived in Warsaw since 2002.

He is survived by one son Richard Spangler, of Warsaw and a sister, Patti Eckenrode, of Minnatonka, Minnesota.

Paul’s wishes were to be cremated.

Cremation was at the Kaysinger Crematory in Warsaw, with arrangements under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.

No services are scheduled.

Darrell K. Brown
(August 8, 1930 - June 15, 2011)
U.S. Veteran

Darrell K. Brown, age 80, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away Wednesday morning, June 15, 2011, at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Lincoln, Missouri.

He was born in Benton County, Missouri, on August 8, 1930, the son of Arthur and Frances Byrd Brown.

He grew up in Benton County, and served in the United States Army. He then began working for the H. J. Heinz Company for eighteen years and then worked as a driver for Jess Brown Trucking for the next twenty-eight years.

Darrell was preceded in death his wife, Doris, on July 18, 1994, and two sons, Gary Brown, on March 31, 1992 and Ricky Brown on March 2, 2001.

He is survived by three sons, Ronnie Flippin, and his wife, Shirley, of Buffalo, Missouri, Mike Brown, of Warsaw, Missouri, and Dennis Brown, and his wife, Chrissy, of Lincoln, Missouri. He also, leaves thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three sisters; Flavel Nave, of Clinton, Missouri, Dorris Moms, and Wilma Wilson, both of California, other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services and inurnment will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 20, 2011, at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Lincoln, Missouri, with Rev. Walter Admire officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Benton County Hospice in care of the funeral home.

Thelma Marie Brown
(January 13, 1919 - June 14, 2011)

Thelma M. Brown, age 92, of Warsaw, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at her home.

She was born on January 13, 1919, in Willow Springs, Missouri, the daughter of John Henry and Effie Francis (Moore) Waggoner.

She grew up in Williow Springs and was united in marriage to Cyrus "Jack" Brown. They moved to Warsaw in the mid-50’s

Thelma was a devoted wife to her husband Jack, who was a builder here in the area for many years. Thelma was also employed as a seamstress for Unitog in Warsaw. She is a member of the Poplar Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, fishing, deer hunting and other outdoor activities.

She is preceded in death by her husband, three brothers; Floyd Waggoner, Hershel Waggoner and Johnny Waggoner, two sisters, Lorene Whertwine and Lois Ruby.

She is survived by three brothers; Leslie Waggoner, of Warsaw, Harold Dean Waggoner, of Bonnie Lake, Washington and Howard Glen Waggoner, of Warsaw, a sister Alice Hansen, of Lincoln, a companion Pat Patterson, of Warsaw, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Thelma Brown will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Reser Funeral Home, in Warsaw.

Sarah Olive Rottman
(February 25, 1916 - June 21, 2011)

Sarah Olive Rottman, age 95, a resident of Lakeside Suites in Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011.

She was born on February 25, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Sarah Wheeler Rolen.

She grew up in Chicago and on March 20, 1937, was united in marriage to Clifford E. Rottman. Following their marriage, they made their home in Chicago where Olive worked as a sales clerk in the cooking ware section of a department store.

She loved to cook and did many demonstrations featuring different cookware.

Following retirement they moved to their home in Warsaw, on September 28, 1978.

Olive was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw. She was also a member of the Osage Valley Chapter #502, Order of the Eastern Star in Warsaw. She was faithful to her church and also to her star organization.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister, and her beloved husband, Clifford.

Surviving are two sons, Frederick Rottman of Green Bay Wisconsin and Clifford R. Rottman of Scottsdale, Arizona, three grandchildren, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services for Olive Rottman will be at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Cliff Saupe officiating.

Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw.

Friends will gather at 10:00 A.M. for a short visitation prior to services.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw.
