Farris M. Gregory
(September 2, 1926 - November 2, 2013)
Farris M. Gregory, age 87, of Clinton, formerly of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the Christian Health and Rehab Center in Clinton, MO.
He was born on September 2, 1926 in Warsaw, Missouri, the son of Joseph Leonard and Nancy Campbell Gregory.
He grew up in Warsaw, and spent most of his life living in Benton and Henry Counties. He had worked for Schien Truck Lines for several years.
After the passing of his mother on March 17, 1980, he made his home in Windsor, where he was a farmhand for Johnny and Mary Antwiler. While living in Windsor, he attended Calvary Baptist Church.
For the past 25 years, he had been a member of New Life Miracle Center in Calhoun, Missouri, and attended Bible study at the Seven Day Adventist Church in Clinton. Farris enjoyed bird watching and drawing.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Forrest and Linda Gregory, of Warsaw, other relatives, his church family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw, with Rev. Joe Hall officiating.

Cleola M Beard
(June 25, 1930 - November 8, 2013)
Cleola M. Beard, age 83, of Belton, Missouri passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton, Missouri.
She was born on June 25, 1930 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of David Clark and Lula Mary (Liebli) Findley.
She grew up in Edwards, and was later united in marriage to Dallas Beard. They made their home in the Kansas City area for more than fifty years. She was employed at Grace Sewing Company making children’s clothes for several years and was a member of TOPS in Belton.
She is preceded in death by six brothers, Edward Findley, Ivan Findley, Gene Findley, Elmer Findley, Harvey Findley and Raymond Findley and one sister, Gladys Campbell.
She is survived by her husband, Dallas Beard, one son Robert Beard, of Belton, Missouri, six grandchildren; Hollie Beard and Bobbi Beard, both of Belton, Robert Beard, Jr., of Kentucky, David Campbell, of Grandview, Missouri, Kristen Campbell, of Bucyrus, Kansas and Clayton Spears of Peculiar, Missouri, three great-grandchildren, one sister Geraldine Dority, of Warsaw and one brother, Merlin "Sammy" Findley, of Warsaw, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Cleola M. Beard will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.
Graveside services and interment will be in the Cable Ridge Cemetery in Edwards, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cable Ridge Cemetery.
Virginia E. Mitchell
(July 2, 1921 - November 12, 2013)
Virginia E Mitchell, 92, of Lincoln, Missouri passed away peacefully on November 12, 2013, at the Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence, Missouri, as a result from complications of dementia.
Graveside services for family and friends will be at 11:30 A.M., Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Brushy Cemetery near Lincoln.
Memorials may be made to a local Alzheimer's support program, Alzheimer's Alliance or to a charity of your choice.
Raymond Harrison Acton
(October 5, 1935 - November 13, 2013)
Raymond Harrison Acton, age 78, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.
He was born on October 5, 1935, in Columbia, Missouri, the son of George "Jack" Acton and Ruby Calvin Acton.
Ray grew up in Rocheport, Missouri and graduated high school in New Franklin, Missouri. He then moved to Columbia and worked at Columbia Auto Parts for many years until his retirement in 1997.
He was married to Glenda Ferrier in Columbia in April of 1985.
After Ray’s retirement, they moved to Warsaw, so that Ray could fish.
He attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Ray loved his family and they were the most important thing to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Rebecca, and a brother, Monroe Acton.
He is survived by his wife Glenda, of the home, three sons, Charles Acton, and his wife Pat, of Pilot Grove, Missouri, Randy Acton, and his wife, Diane, of San Marcos, California, and Mitch Acton, of Columbia, one daughter, Rhonda Acton, also of Columbia, a step-son, Robert Bernhardt, and his wife, Deanna, of Springfield, Missouri, and step-daughter, Ann Davison, and her husband Chris, of Warsaw. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, one brother, Melvin Acton, of Columbia, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held for Ray Acton at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
Cremation will follow at Kaysinger Crematory under the direction of Reser Funeral Home.
Donald Robert Smith, Jr.
(February 4, 1958 - November 15, 2013)

Donald Robert Smith, Jr., age 55, of Edwards, MO., passed away Friday, November, 15, 2013, at his home.
He was born on February 4, 1958, near St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Donald Robert Sr. and Carol Bueltman Smith.
He grew up in the St. Louis area and enlisted into the United States Navy in December of 1978. He served his country for 20 years, retiring with an honorable discharge as Petty Officer First Class in December of 1998.
On March 7, 1981, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Moore in San Lorenzo, California. After his discharge, they made their home in Fulton, Missouri, moving to Edwards, Missouri, in 2008 where he enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Ozarks.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Surviving is his wife, Phyllis, of the home, three sons, Jeremiah Smith of Hallsville, Missouri, Joshua Smith and David Smith, all of the home; five grandchildren, Ethan, Jayden, Hannah, Georgia, and Alexis; three sisters, Donna Smith of Florissant, Missouri, Terry Bueltman of St. Peters, Missouri and Leslie Chilese of St. Charles, Missouri, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Donald Robert Smith, Jr., will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Friday prior to services.
Burial and military rites will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Waynesville, Missouri.

Doris Aery
(April 23, 1925 - November 18, 2013)
Lillian Doris Shull Aery, of Lincoln, Missouri, was born on April 23, 1925 in Sedalia, Missouri to Oral H. and Maudie Stevens Shull. Doris suffered a stroke and passed away, November 18, 2013 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
After graduation from Cross Timbers High School in 1943, Doris attended college at Warrensburg, Missouri and taught her first term of school at Walnut Grove, a rural school near Harrisonville.
Being interested in a young man named Donald Aery, Doris moved back to Cross Timbers and Doris and Donald were married April 12, 1946 at the Methodist parsonage in Fort Scott, Kansas. They established their first home in Cross Timbers. Donald drove a milk truck and Doris taught at Liberty school near Fristoe. Doris later taught at Cross Timbers.
Doris had a kind and pleasing personality. She truly loved the children that she taught and they loved her. The students addressed her as "Miss" Doris.
Doris and Donald were interested in having a family so Doris retired from teaching and welcomed the birth of a son. Roger Joseph Aery was born in 1952. A second son David Lynn Aery was born in 1958.
Donald and Doris moved to a farm in the Lincoln, Mo. area. They later bought a farm near Lincoln, and the boys attended school and graduated from Lincoln High School. Doris did substitute teaching and was active in all school activities.
Doris was a member of the Lincoln Methodist Church and attended regularly as her health permitted.
Doris suffered two deep sadnesses in her life when Donald passed away in 1983 and son Roger in 1995.
Doris is survived by her son David and his wife Delores. They along with their daughter and son looked after her every need. Because of their help, Doris was able to remain in her own home until her death. Doris often said how fortunate she was to have Delores for a daughter-in-law.
Doris is also survived by grandchildren Christopher Aery and Jason Aery (Lilly) and great-granddaughter Lillian of Clinton, MO; Jessica Aery Musslin (Jonathan) of Sedalia and Kevin Aery of Columbia. A brother Donald Shull (RoseAnn) of Raymore, also survives, as well as several cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Reser Funeral Home with burial in Concord Cemetery, Fristoe, Missouri.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to the funeral hour, Saturday at the Reser Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Lincoln United Methodist Church in care of the Reser Funeral Home.
Peggie Gilson
(July 12, 1952 - November 18, 2013)
Peggie C. Gilson, age 61, of Warsaw, passed away Monday evening, November 18, 2013 at her home in Teal Bend, Warsaw, Missouri.
She was born on July 12, 1952 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of John and Floris (Bergmann) Carnley.
She grew up in Houston and attended Austin High School, graduated from cosmetology school and established her career as a hair stylist.
She was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Gilson for 35 years and in 1987, they moved to Kansas City, where they lived until retiring to Warsaw in 2001.
Peggie loved the outdoors. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her father, and one brother and survived by her mother a brother and one sister.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Gilson, of the home, her mother, Floris Carnley, of Warsaw, her daughter Donna Gilson, and her son Michael Gilson both of San Marcos, Texas, two grandchildren, Trevor Whitehorn and Lindsey Demetriou, many other relatives and several close friends.
Memorial Services for Peggie C. Gilson will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Compasses c/o the funeral home.
Lois Jean Venable
(May 25, 1927 - November 17, 2013)
Lois Jean Venable, age 86, passed away Sunday morning, November 17, 2013, at her home in Warsaw, Missouri.
She was born in Sedalia, Missouri, on May 25, 1927, the daughter of Oliver D. and Pansy Garrett Bohon.
On December 14, 1979, she was united in marriage to Clay M. Venable. Following their marriage they made their home in Sedalia, Missouri. They soon moved to Forsyth, Missouri, and then came to Warsaw in 1980.
Her husband, Clay, preceded her in death five years ago in 2008. She was also, preceded in death by one son, Larry Joe Dotson.
She and her husband enjoyed Blue Grass music and traveled to concerts throughout the area. She was a self-taught artist and enjoyed painting portraits, landscapes and stills of just about anything that would set still long enough.
She attended the Unity Church of the Ozarks near Warsaw as long as her health permitted.
Lois is survived by a step-daughter, Pamela L. Hockaday, of Sedalia, Missouri, two grandchildren, Steve Dotson and Janet Butler, two step-grandchildren, Sonya Fogle and Angela Oswald several great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Lois Venable will be cremated under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home.
