Fred G. Hurst

Fred G. Hurst, age 83, of Warsaw, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Village at Carroll Park in Grandview, Missouri.
He was born on February 2, 1932 in Altoona, Iowa, the son of William and Anna (Miller) Hurst.
He grew up in Iowa, and graduated from high school in Altoona. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in Korea.
In August of 1961, he was united in marriage to Joan E. Drdla. Soon after, they moved to Warsaw, where Fred worked on the Truman Dam as an employee of the Corps of Engineers.
Fred retired from the Corps after 30 years of employment.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Joan.
He is survived by two daughters, Lori Jesse, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Kimberly Waswo, and her husband, David, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, four grandchildren, Gabrielle Waswo, Breeanne Rachelle, Patrick Allan and Joshua Aaron.
He is also survived by one brother Donald Hurst, of Dexter Iowa.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, Missouri.
Thomas Stanley Jones

Thomas Stanley Jones, age 51, of Warsaw, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015.
He was born on July 3, 1964, in Jackson County, Missouri, the son of Tom Jones and Ruth Ann (McLaughlin) Jones.
He grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from Lee's Summit High School in 1982. He enlisted into the United States Air Force on August 18, 1982 and served his country for 20 years, retiring on August 31, 2002.
Tom had made his home near Warsaw, where he was employed for a time at R-Corner Convenience Store. He also was a member of the Warsaw Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by 2 brothers, Steve Strate of Deepwater, MO, Tracy Jones of Lee's Summit, MO, three sisters, Pammi Barker of Hollister, MO, Terry Sisk of Holden, MO, and Rita Jones of Garden City, MO, his companion, Janelle Williams Pool, of Warsaw, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 9. 2013 at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.

Della Lorene Mullins Miller

Della Lorene Miller was born on January 20, 1935 in Omaha, Arkansas, the daughter of Jess and Geneva Welch.
She went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2015.
Lorene and her four sisters and two brothers lived on a farm in Omaha, Arkansas, until 1951, when the family moved to California. Little did she know, that a Mullins family from Maysville, Arkansas, had moved to California in 1947. Lorene met and married Robert Leon "Moon" Mullins May 29, 1952. Together they had five daughters and two sons (in that order). The Mullins family moved to Missouri in 1960. They raised their family together for 46 years until the passing of Robert "Moon" August 13, 1998.
Lorene retired after working at Sundstrand Manufacturing, later known as Modine Manufacturing in Camdenton, Missouri, for 25 years. After retirement, she enjoyed spending her time with grandchildren, crocheting, country music shows and making jelly.
On November 22, 2004, she was united in marriage to Edward "Gene" Miller of Flemington, Missouri. They had a happy, fun, loving life until her passing. They moved back to Climax Springs, Missouri, in April 2013 to be closer to family.
Lorene was a member of the Church of Christ in Warsaw, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, two sisters, two brothers, one grandson, Ryan Anderson of Climax Springs, Missouri, and one granddaughter, Stephanie Bench of Richland, Missouri.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gene, seven children, Sharlet and husband Dave Anderson, Shelley and husband Marvin Cline of Climax Springs, Sherry and husband Don Silvers of Camdenton, Roberta and husband Jimmy Bench of Richland, Gail and husband Ed Prato of Camdenton, Joe and wife Debbie Mullins and Jim Mullins of Climax Springs, two sisters, Shirley and husband JR Kelly of New Mexico and Barbara Flynn of California, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Della Lorene Mullins Miller will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Climax Springs Cemetery in Climax Springs, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life will follow at the Climax Springs Civic Center.

Robert William Kahle

Robert William Kahle, aged 84, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed from this earth into the arms of his Savior December 9, 2013 at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, after an extended hospitalization.
Born October 29, 1929 in Bunceton, Missouri, to Herman and Minnie Schwitzky Kahle, he was baptized as an infant and continued with his faith until the time of his death.
Bob served in the US Army from 1951-1952. He was proud to be a Union carpenter of 50 plus years. He enjoyed rock hounding, gardening, and card games. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lincoln, Missouri.
He married Linda M. Pendergrass on January 19, 1979, she survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and a son, Dale Kahle.
He is survived by his son Michael (Terri) Kahle of Jackson, Missouri, and two grandchildren, Rachel & Matthew. He is survived by 3 stepchildren, Kathy (Terry) Robison, Theresa Swenson, and Abe (Jodi) Swenson and 3 granddaughters, Tera, Erin, and Emma, as well as several nephews, nieces, and cousins. Bob had the talent of finding some of his kinfolk at most any place he went.
Funeral services are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, and will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Reverend Leonard Poppe officiating.
Visitation will be 30 minutes preceding the service.
Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorial donations in memory of Bob are suggested to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff who have taken care of Bob during his illness, as well as the prayerful support of loving friends and family.
Larry A. Noland

Larry Allan Noland, age 71, of Warsaw, passed away Sunday July 5, 2015, at University of Missouri Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born on April 5, 1944, in Hayward, California, the son of Orville W. and Geraldine H. (Padgett) Noland.
He moved with his family to Lincoln, Missouri, where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1962. Following high school on June 15, 1962, Larry enlisted into the United States Navy, serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on August 10, 1966.
On August 26, 1967, he was united in marriage to Judy Mills at the Mt. Pleasant Church near Warsaw. Following their marriage, they made most of the married life in Warsaw. Unto this union, two sons were born.
Larry had worked as a boilermaker/welder for Local #83 in Kansas City, MO, of which he was a member. He was also a member of American Legion Post #217 and had served as past commander of the post as well as other positions. He also was past commander of American Legion District 7 and had served on various committees. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith as a child.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Steve Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home, two sons, Kevin Noland of Warsaw and Kenny Noland and his wife, Sabrina, of Illinois, two granddaughters, Hunter and Amy and a grandson, Bryce. Also surviving are two brothers, Jerry L. Noland and wife, Sharon, of Warsaw and Kerry Noland and wife, Lanita, of Lake Dallas, Texas, a sister, Terri Rogers of Lawrence, Kansas, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 13, 2015, at Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.
Burial with military honors will be at Turkey Creek Cemetery, Warsaw, MO.
Family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M., Monday, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.
John W. Mead

John W. Mead, age 87, of Fayette, MO, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015, at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City, MO.
He was born on October 6, 1927, in Randolph County, MO, the son of Otis and Norma Grapes Mead.
He grew up on a farm around Hibgee, MO, and following graduation from high school he enlisted into the United States Army serving for 18 months.
On May 6, 1951, he was united in marriage to Betty Robinson at Fayette, MO. They made their home in Kansas City where he was employed as a repairman for Sears, retiring in 1992 after 31 years of service. After retirement they moved to their home in Fayette, MO.
John loved to fish the many lakes around his home and the Lake of the Ozarks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Junior Mead, and a son, John Jr. Mead.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home, one son, Rob Mead and his wife, Cathy, of Kearney, MO, four grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Also surviving is a brother, C.G. Mead of Columbia, MO, and one sister, June Hoard, of Fayette, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for John Mead will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September, 10, 2015, at Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., prior to services on Thursday.
Buial will be in New Home Cemetery, Warsaw, MO.

George Cassman

George L. Cassman, age 90, Warsaw, passed away Saturday, September 5th at his home after an extended illness.
He was born February 19, 1925 in Jackson County, Illinois, near Elkville.
On May 27, 1955, in Peru, Indiana, he married Hazel Anna Gaumer of Logansport, Indiana. She preceded him in death February 3, 1988.
Mr. Cassman enlisted in the U.S. Navy January 11, 1943. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea, Vietnam and retired from the Navy with the rank of Chief Petty Officer on April 17, 1967. The next day he went to work as a security officer in the plant protection department for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Davenport, Iowa. He retired in September 1982. George and his beloved wife, Hazel, moved to Benton County in May 1983. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include a son, Michael J. Cassman, Marana, AZ; two daughters, Debra C. LaVelle, Canton, GA and Cindy J. Bauer, Clinton, MO; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with another on the way.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 9th, 10:30 am at Laurel Oaks Cemetery, Windsor, with full military honors.
The family requests no flowers but would appreciate donations to the Twin Lakes Hospice in Clinton, MO.
Helen K. Baker

Helen K. Baker, age 73, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2013, at her home.
She was born on February 17, 1939, in Pike County, Illinois, the daughter of Frank M. and Glenna A. Cannon Johnson.
She grew up in Pike County, near Milton, Illinois, and graduated high school in 1957.
She married Murray Baker and they have been together for 51 years.
They lived in Illinois, Dover, Delaware and Knob Noster, Missouri, moving permanently to this area in 1997.
Helen owned and operated the Gateway Beauty Salon for 20 years in Knob Noster and she also co-owned and operated the Baker Furniture Store also in Knob Noster.
Helen enjoyed reading, painting and fishing. She loved to sing and was a fantastic cook and baking was her specialty.
She had been a member of the Knob Noster Community Committee and was also a member of the Busy Bees, Beta Sigma Pi and a Daughter of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her husband, Murray, of the home, one daughter, Lisa Spear of Leeton, Missouri, and one son, Robin Baker, and wife, Yvonne, of Wildomar, California, five grandchildren, Matthew Keller and wife, Amanda, Leah Gardner, and husband, Kevin, Stewart Spear, Remley Baker and Brittney Baker and one great-granddaughter, Lauren Gardner. Also surviving are two brothers, Ronald Johnson and Randy Johnson, and three sisters, Joyce Parrick, Jill Hamer and Pam Ahring, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Helen Baker will be at the Evening Shade Mennonite Church near Warsaw at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2013.
Cremation was handled by Kaysinger Crematory under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.
