Madelyn Lea McGonagle
Born: November 16, 1926
Died: February 27, 2007

Madelyn L. McGonagle, age 80, of Warsaw, Missouri, formerly of Paola, Kansas, passed away Tuesday morning, February 27, 2007, at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Lincoln, Missouri.

She was born in Ocheltree, Kansas, on November 16, 1926, the daughter of Glenn and Helen Weir Morris.

On May 23, 1971, she was united in marriage to George C. McGonagle in Hillsdale, Kansas. In 1985, they moved to their home in Warsaw, Missouri. Madelyn spent much of her time reading and crocheting.

George preceded her in death on March 24, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Madelyn is survived by three step-children, Robert McGonagle and Sharon Hopper, both of Carthage, Missouri, and Carol Cooper, of Paola, Kansas, two sisters, Catherine Morris, of Springfield, Missouri, and Ann Snow, of Olathe, Kansas, one brother, George Morris, of Morrison, Texas, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Memorial Service and Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday morning, March 8, 2007, at the Paola Cemetery in Paola, Kansas.

Madelyn McGonagle was cremated.

Leon Mellen
Born: August 04, 1933
Died: August 23, 2014

Winfred Leon Mellen, age 81, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Cole Camp, MO.

He was born on August 4, 1933, in Benton County, Missouri, the son of Winfred Lee and Gladys Lucille (Farrier) Mellen.

He grew up in Benton County and attended Warsaw School. He worked many different jobs and occupations throughout his life but was mainly a farmer raising cattle and row crops.

He was married to Frances Godfrey in 1952 in Benton County. Unto this union, was born four sons and one daughter.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, one son, Keven Mellen, one grandson, Douglas Kyle Mellen and two sisters, Doris Lee White and Louise Evans.

He is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home, three sons, Keith Mellen and wife, Melody, of Cole Camp, MO, Van Mellen and wife, Kemberly, of Lincoln, MO, and Kim Mellen, and his girlfriend, Marsha, of Lincoln, MO, and one daughter, Denise Benn of Tacoma Washington. Also surviving is one sister, Aileen Pippins, and husband, Harold, of Wheatland, MO., and 15 grandchildren, Heather Mellen, Jason Benn, Jennifer Mellen, Amie Tollitson, Jimmie Benn, Van Mellen, Jr., Brian Mellen, Adam Mellen, Michael Mellen, Sara Mellen, Julie Peterson, Jeremy Mellen, Tiffany Allcorn, Lindsey Mellen and Brandon Mellen and numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Poplar Baptist Church near Warsaw where he was a member.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 P.M., at the church.

Burial will be in the Clear Creek Cemetery near Lincoln with Pastor Van Mellen officiating.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln, MO.

Donald E. "Chris" Kreisel
Born: September 11, 1929
Died: August 27, 2015

Donald E. "Chris" Kreisel, age 85, of Lincoln, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born on September 11, 1929 in Benton County, the son of John and Mary (Davis) Kreisel.

He enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Korea for two years and was honorably discharged on September 2, 1952. Chris worked for Forydce Concrete as a truck driver, retiring in 1977. After his retirement he continued to drive semi trucks part time. He traveled the country and had been to every state in the continental United States.

He was a member of the VFW Post #5925 of Lincoln.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond "Hank" Kreisel.

He is survived by two children; Steve Kreisel, of Lincoln and Linda Kreisel, of Utah, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by six brothers; Marvin Kreisel, Wilford "Punk" Kreisel, John "Buck" Kreisel, James "Hobo" Kreisel, Larry Kreisel and Mike Kreisel, four sisters; Betty Balke, Iva Scott, Patsy Casey and Carol Bishop, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Donald E. "Chris" Kreisel will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln, Missouri.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday.

Graveside services and Military Rites will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Lincoln.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o the funeral home.

Osa Martha Dwyer
Born: April 26, 1939
Died: August 15, 2015

Osa Martha Dwyer, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO. Martha was born on April 26, 1939, on the family farm in the Hogles Creek community southwest of Warsaw. She was the oldest child of Edgar and Ina Downing.

Martha attended Hogles Creek grade school for eight years. She graduated from Warsaw High School in the class of 1957. Following graduation, she worked for Sears until her marriage.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Ray Dwyer on September 2, 1961. This union was blessed with three sons: David, James and John. They made their home on a farm near Lincoln and finally retired to a smaller acreage near Warsaw. Martha and Clifford celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2011.

Martha accepted Christ at the age of thirteen and was baptized in the Hogles Creek Church. Martha worked on the farm and for several years, she was Dietary Manager for the Lincoln Community Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, on August 6, 2012, and also by her parents.

She is survived by her three sons, David Dwyer (Francyne) of Kansas City, Dr. James Dwyer of Warsaw and John Dwyer (Darla) of Manhattan, Kansas, one sister, Beth Halsey (Larry) of Warrensburg, MO, and one brother, John Downing of Osceola, MO, three nephews and one niece.

Funeral services for Martha Dwyer will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln, MO, with Charles Rose officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Warsaw.

Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M., Thursday, until the funeral hour at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to the Benton County Cancer Fund in care of the funeral home.

Victor Leon Coursey
Born: May 07, 1929
Died: August 14, 2015

Victor Leon Coursey, age 86, of Lincoln, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015, at the Bothwell Regional Health Care Center in Sedalia.

He was born on May 7, 1929, in Camargo, OK, the son of Dolph and Myrtle Cleary Coursey.

He grew up in Oklahoma and was united in marriage to Patsy Patterson on March 21, 1950 in Seiling, OK. They made their home for a short time in Oklahoma, moving to California and in 1969, they moved to Versailles, MO.

Victor was a electrician by trade. He also owned and operated the Markers Store in Gravois Mills and Landmark Realty for several years. In 2009, they moved to their home in Lincoln, MO.

He was a member and Elder of the Popular Baptist Church near Warsaw.

Victor enjoyed boating, horses and playing golf in his younger days.

He loved sports, playing basketball and running track in his high school days and then watching professional sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Lee Coursey.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy, of Lincoln, four children, Debby Bentch of Mechanicsburg, PA, Kim Coursey of Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada, Lisa Pilant of Lincoln, MO, and Cameron Coursey, of Atlanta, GA., 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Lynne Farragh of Sun City, CA, and Ruth Ann Tucker of Owasso, OK, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be Monday morning, 10:30 A.M., at Mt. Pleasant Church near Warsaw with Pastor Debby Bentch and Rev. Van Mellen officiating.

Visitation to follow services.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.

William "Bill" L. Brown
Born: June 22, 1941
Died: August 12, 2015

William L. "Bill" Brown, age 74, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO.

He was born on June 22, 1941, near Clinton, MO, the son of David Cecil and Etha L. Driggs Brown.

He was married to Reva Parks on January 15, 1965 near Clinton. They made their home on a farm in the Ionia and Windsor areas for many years. In 1998, they sold the farm and moved to their home in Lincoln.

Besides farming, Bill drove a school bus for the Cole Camp R-1 School District for 21 years, where he was fondly known as "Bill Brown, the school bus driver".

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Truman Brown and a son-in-law, Jim Heptinstall.

Surviving is his wife, Reva, of the home, two daughters, Gina Heptinstall of Little Rock, AR, and Deborah Sherrer and husband, Roger, of Windsor, MO, two grandchildren, Jonathan Sherrer and Christina Sherrer, both of Windsor, a brother, Charles Brown and his wife, Claudean, of Clinton, MO, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 P.M., Monday, August 17, 2015, at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, Lincoln, MO.

No visitation.

Melissa Ann Duncan
Born: June 29, 1966
Died: June 13, 2016

Melissa Ann Duncan, age 49, of Windsor, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Warsaw Health & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.

She was born on June 29, 1966 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Grace and Vernon Ray Taylor Sr.

She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and later made her home with her children in Climax Springs, Missouri, in 2001.

She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Danielle Cockriel, and her husband Johnny, of Warsaw, 3 sons, Ronald Duncan, of Oak Grove, Justin Duncan, of Warsaw and Jesse Hughes of Warsaw, 5 grandchildren, Zoey, Jacoby, Bentlee, Piper and Lily, two brothers, Ray Taylor, and his wife Marcia, and Perry Taylor and his wife Portia.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family c/o Reser Funeral Home, P.O. Box 910, Warsaw, Missouri 65355.

Donna Mae Hainline
Born: March 16, 1938
Died: June 14, 2016

Donna Mae Hainline, age 78, of Deepwater, Missouri, passed away June 14, 2016 at her home.

She was born on March, 16, 1938 in Gasconade, Missouri, the daughter of Catherine and Arthur Callies.

She grew up in the Kansas City area and attended Northeast High School.

In 1977, she was united in marriage to Robert Hainline. She lived and raised her 4 children in the Kansas City area until 1992, when they moved to their home in Deepwater, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by one grandson, Kelly Joe Dodd.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home, 4 children, Richard Dodd, Michael Dodd, Debra Dance and Douglas Dodd, her loving sister, Robin Parker, 3 grandchildren, Jamie Dodd, David Samuel Dance and Jessica Dodd, one great-grandchild, Skyler Dodd, her sister-in-law, Sue Fitch, a nephew, Scottie Fitch along with a niece, Cherly Escue and her husband Montgomery and their children David and Elizabeth.

She was a very special woman and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, Missouri.
