April 8th, 2004

Larry Steven, age 65, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 8, 2004, at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Lincoln, Missouri, which has been his home for the past two & one/half years. Although he lost his life to Alzheimer’s several years ago, he passed away in the arms of his devoted wife, Vicki, and is now, finally, at peace. He leaves behind his wife, Vicki, of the home, four daughters, Linda Schaper, and her husband, Marty, of Chesterfield, Missouri, Barbara Payne, of Columbia, Missouri, Sandra Kempf, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Korena Sundek, and her husband, Bob, of Maryville, Missouri, and one son, Mark Stevens, and his wife, Darla, of O’Fallon, Missouri, eleven grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Larry & Vicki were married August 9, 1969, and moved to Warsaw, inm 1984, making their home in Pom O Sa, and had a wonderful life until Alzheimer’s disease showed in 1990. It was a long process, but the disease finally took Larry in April of 2001, and it became necessary to place him in a nursing home. All of the employees of Lincoln Nursing Home took care of him with loving care at all times, even when he became a handful. They became family to him and his wife because of their kindness and devotion. It was especially felt in the last week of his life.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Sam Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery near Warsaw.
