Mabel F. Boring
August 16th, 2004

Mabel Frances Boring, age 78, of Warsaw, passed away Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on January 15, 1926, in Shawnee Bend, near Warsaw, the daughter of Bert and Grace Etta Thurman Fergerson.

She attended the one room school at Shawnee Bend for eight years and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1944. On April 27, 1947, she was married to Denzel Daniel Boring.

She worked in the Kansas City War Plant for two years until World War II ended. She then moved back to Warsaw, and started a teaching career. After nine years in a one room school, she started in the elementary schools and was a teacher for thirty-three years and followed that up as a substitute for another nine years. During that time, she also worked with her husband, Denzel, as they owned and operated the Davis Paint Associate Store on Main Street in Warsaw and the Boring American Family Insurance Agency for twenty-six years. She was also President of Boring’s Country Estates and A+ Storage. She had earned her B.S. in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree from Central Missouri State University.

Mabel accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and was a faithful servant in her church. She served as a pianist for her home Community Church and the Warsaw Assembly of God Church. In 1968 she joined the First Baptist Church of Warsaw where she was a faithful member as long as her health permitted. She served in various positions over the years including working with the youth, member of Keystone Sunday School class, Sunshine Sunday School class, Secretary and Treasure of the Keenagers, Secretary and Treasure of WMU, and a member of the Church Choir.

She was also very active in the community where she was a member of VFW Post #5894 Ladies Auxiliary and TOPS and helped in 4-H Clubs. She also enjoyed traveling, reading and being with her family, especially her three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Denzel, in 1995, and one brother, Allen Fergerson.

She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Pickens, and her husband Bill, and Roberta Schnakenberg, and her husband Jim, all of Warsaw, three grandchildren, Kiela Ast, and her husband, Lucas, Kristen Hill, and her husband, Kenneth, and Kurt Schnakenberg, one great-grandson, Xander Ast. She is also survived by two brothers, J.B. Fergerson, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Orla Fergerson, of Raytown, Missouri, several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services for Mabel F. Boring will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Warsaw, with Rev. Barry Edwards and Dr. Larry Nail, officiating.

Burial will be in the Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Benton County Hospice or the First Baptist Church of Warsaw Elevator Fund in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Boring, Robert E.
August 14th, 2004

Robert E. Boring, age 72, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday morning, August 14, 2004, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

He was born on March 3, 1932, at Warsaw, the son of Edwin Eugene and Lois M. Davis Boring.

He grew up in Warsaw and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1949. He attended Drury College in Springfield for 2 years and then went to St. Louis where he graduated from St. Louis Pharmacy School in 1956.

On January 10, 1954, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Fischer at the Lincoln United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Missouri. Following their marriage, they made their home in Warsaw where unto this union, two sons and one daughter were born.

On November 3, 1953, he was inducted into the United States Army and served overseas in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in August 17, 1955.

Bob and Bonnie owned and operated the Boring’s Drug Store from 1957 until retirement this year. They were very dedicated to this community and the people they served. Bob was "on-call" 24-7 and could be found late at night in his house shoes filling a prescription for someone in need. There were countless times he gave out medicine knowing that he would never get compensated for it. He was a civic leader and a generous contributor to this community. He was always supporting the organizations and fund raisers that were taking place around the community.

Bob was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church and member of the Jay Harris Council of the Knights of Columbus, He was a long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Osage Valley Bank of Warsaw, a member of the V.F.W. Post #5894 of Warsaw and the American Legion Post #217 of Warsaw. He had served on the State Fair Community College Board of Directors and the Warsaw R-9 School Board where he was instrumental in helping to establish the football program at Warsaw High School.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, on June 12, 2004.

Surviving are two sons, Andrew Boring and his wife, Deborah, of Liberty, Missouri, Matthew and Melissa Boring of Naperville, Illinois and a daughter, Sarah Wynn, and her husband, Doug, of Lonoke, Arkansas, six grandchildren, Belinda, Nicholas, Adam, Ashley, Katie and Cedric. Also surviving is a brother, Eddie Boring and his wife, Nadeene, of San Clemente, California and an uncle, Leslie Boring, of Claremont, California, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Robert E. Boring will be at 9:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Fr. Richard Colbert officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw, Pallbearers will be Nicholas Boring, Larry Burditt, Mike Murray, Dr. Jerry Finke, Dr. Mark Snell and Bill Bunch.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Joseph Gialde, Jab White, Jim White, John White, Stan Intelmann, Gene Bunch, Scotty Newkirk, Chad Gregory, Lester Fischer, Randy Eaton, Rob Lane, Larry Beach, Betty Beach, Larry Gerken, Andy Kammerich, Dr. Merlin Eaton and Shawn Miller.

No Visitation. Body will lie in state after 9:00 A.M. Monday at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Memorials may be made to the Benton County Hospice in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Margie Lee Lemler
August 13th, 2004

Margie Lee Lemler, age 88, of Clinton, passed away Friday, August 13, 2004, at her home near Tightwad.

She was born on November 10, 1916, at Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Walter and Della Richwine Jenkins.

She grew up in Benton County, Missouri, and in 1932, she was united in marriage to William Nelson Dulaban. Unto this union, three sons and two daughters were born. Her husband preceded her in death on May 29, 1957. Later she married Abner Tygart. She was a homemaker and also was in nursing. She had been employed by Golden Valley Hospital for 16 years and for Bothwell Hospital for 9 years. Her husband, Abner, died in 1972.

In 1975, she was married to Phillip Lemler and they made their home in Cole Camp. He preceded her in death in 1983.

She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church near Racket.

She was preceded in death by a son, Alvin Dulaban on March 22, 2000, a grandson, Wayne Dulaban on September 30, 1990, and two sisters.

Surviving are two sons, William Dulaban of Deepwater, Dean Dulaban of Tightwad, two daughters, Dorothy Albin of Tightwad and Darlene Self of Lincoln, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services for Margie Lee Lemler will be at 7:00 P.M., Monday evening at the Reser Funeral Home.

Cremation. Interment of the ashes will be at the Shady Grove Cemetery near Racket.

Thomas O. Darr
August 9th, 2004

Thomas O. Darr, age 93, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away early Monday morning, August 9, 2004, at the Warsaw Health & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw.

He was born in Novinger, Missouri, on October 18, 1910, the son of Edward and Susan Snyder Darr.

He graduated from Green Castle, Missouri, high school in 1928. He entered the United States Army in February of 1943 serving as a veteran of World War II until his discharge in October of 1945.

On August 5, 1953, he was united in marriage to Mildred Ann Adams in Kansas City. They made their home in metropolitan Kansas City, Missouri. Mildred preceded him in death in January of 1997.

Tom loved music and played the fiddle for many years. Over the years he had handcrafted two fiddles and a base fiddle.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church of Warsaw.

He is survived by two nieces, Betty and Helen, both of Iowa, several great-nieces & great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday morning, August 12, 2004, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Warsaw.

He will be cremated and his ashes will be interred at Mossy Cemetery near Edwards, Missouri.

Lula Mae Busch
August 8th, 2004

Lula Mae Busch, age 91, of Warsaw, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2004 at the Bothwell Regional Health Care Center in Sedalia.

She was born on July 26, 1913, at St. Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of Jesse and Mamie McCall.

She grew up in Amazonia, Missouri, and in the early 1930's, was united in marriage to Russell W. Guyer. They made their home in Kansas City area and unto this union, two daughters and one son were born. While living in Kansas City, Lula was employed by Russell Stover’s and later for Pecks Department Store. Her husband, Russell, preceded her in death in 1967.

On June 30, 1970, she was united in marriage to F.J. Busch. They made their home in Savannah, Missouri, later moving to Cole Camp, Missouri. For the past three years they have made their home in Warsaw.

Lula was saved as a young girl and had professed her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Edmondson Baptist Church near Lincoln. She also was a member of the Gideon’s Association.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Burres, a step-daughter, Katy Boone, four brothers and three sisters.

Surviving is her husband, F.J. Busch, of the home, one son Wayne Guyer of Oregon, Missouri, one daughter, Janet Hunt of Warsaw, two step-daughters, Linda Britt of the state of Washington and Stephanie Smith of the state of Alabama, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, 4 step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, a brother, Ralph McCall of Meta, Missouri and a sister, Wilma George, of Deepwater, Missouri, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Lula Mae Busch will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rev. Russell Lucas and Rev. Richard DeFord officiating.

Graveside services and Interment will be at 3:30 P.M., Wednesday at St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M., at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Memorials may be made to Gideon’s, in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

James H. Wilson
August 7th, 2004

James H. Wilson, age 93, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2004 at the Warsaw Health Care Center in Warsaw.

He was born on August 1, 1911, at Birmingham, Missouri, the son of Walter Perry and Tabitha House Wilson.

On June 20, 1936, he was married to Myrtle I. Coombs. Jim was employed by Wabash Railroad for 15 years and was in real estate for 25 years. They moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where they owned and operated a motel for two years. After selling the motel, they moved to Forsyth, Missouri, and made their home for five years. In 1964, they moved to Benton County, Missouri and later into Warsaw.

He was a member of the Warsaw First United Methodist Church, a member of the V.F.W. Post #5902 of Gravois Mills, Missouri and a past member of the Shawnee Masonic Lodge #653 of Warsaw.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and served overseas in Europe during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, on May 14, 2004.

He is survived by a step-daughter, Gloria Jackson of Raytown, a step-grandson, Sam Jackson of Lancaster, California, a step-granddaughter, Kathy Mendenhall of Raytown, three step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a nephew, Jimmy D. Wiggin and his wife, Mary Jane of Westwood, Kansas and a great-niece, Sandra Stumpff, of Shawnee, Kansas, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services and interment will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 9, 2004, at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri, with Rev. Richard Anthony officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Ruby I. Davis Hatfield
August 5th, 2004

Ruby I. Davis Hatfield, age 88, of Kansas City, formerly of Warsaw, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2004.

She was born on June 18, 1916, at California, Missouri, the daughter of Aaron F. and Laura S. Sappington Clenin.

She made her home in the Kansas City area and in October of 1953, was married to Chester L. Davis. They lived in Kansas City, until moving to Warsaw in 1965, where she established, owned and operated the Ruby Davis Realty for 20 years. Her husband, Chester, died October 18, 1978.

Ruby continued to make her home in Warsaw, where she had served as past-president of the Sedalia Board of Realtors and was the first lady real estate broker in Benton County. She had served as past-president of the Truman Lake Association. She was a member of the Osage Valley Chapter # 502 Order of the Eastern Star of Warsaw and had served as Worthy Matron in 1983 and was Past District Deputy Grand Matron of the 36 District of the Order of the Eastern Star in 1985. She was also a member of the Lady Shrine Club of Warsaw and had received the Warsaw Area Chamber of Commerce Service Award in 1981. She was a member of the Warsaw Christian Church.

On January 15, 1986 she was united in marriage to Carl Hatfield at her home in Warsaw. Following their marriage, they made their home in Warsaw. Carl preceded her in death in 1998. For the past two years, Ruby had made her home at the Masonic Home in Kansas City, Missouri.

She is survived by one son, Ron Bartlett of Pleaant Hill, California, three step-sons, Bob David of Clinton, Jerry Hatfield of Raytown and Paul Hatfield of Independence, one step-daughter, Judy Miller of Cole Camp, one granddaughter, Kimberly McGowan and a great-granddaughter, Mairghread McGowan, both of Los Altos, California, one brother, John Clenin, of Trinidad, Colorado, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ruby I. Hatfield will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Dr. Robert Minshall officiating.

Burial will be in the Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri.

Body will lie in state after 8:00 A.M., Monday with family receiving friends Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:00 A.M. prior to the funeral service at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Memorials may be made to the Masonic Home or the Shriner’s Children Hospital.

Cecil William Schildberg
August 2nd, 2004

Cecil William Schildberg, Capt, TWA, Commander USNR, age 91, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away at his home on August 2, 2004.

He was born on October 21, 1912, in Yakima, Washington.

He spent his early childhood in Seattle, Washington and moved to Los Angeles, California in 1927.

He graduated from Bonito Union High School in 1930. In 1932, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps.

In 1937, he graduated from flight training at Pensacola, Florida as a naval aviator.

He flew from such historic naval ships as: the USS Langley, USS Ranger and the USS Saratoga.

In 1940, Cecil joined Transcontinental and Wester Air (TWA) in Burbank, California. He moved to Kansas City, in 1942.

In 1943, he was commissioned a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and assigned to Squadron VR-3 at Olathe Naval Station, Olathe, Kansas.

In 1944, Cecil married Mary Wanda Dulaney. He remained in the Navy Reserve after WWII and retired with the rank of Commander in 1955.

In 1945, he resumed his career with TWA as a line check pilot and accumulated approximately 30, 000 flying hours by the time of his retirement in 1968. Cecil flew such notable aircraft as: the Douglas DC-2, DC-3, DC-4, Boeing 307-B, Lockheed Constellation, Martin 202, Martin 404 and Convair 880 jets.

Following his retirement, Cecil moved to Warsaw, Missouri, on the Lake of the Ozarks. He enjoyed fishing, boating, his grandchildren and an occasional beer. Cecil was a charter member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Warsaw, a life-member of the American Legion Benton County Post #217 of Warsaw and a member of the Silver Eagles Association, Pensacola, Florida. He served many years as an Alderman for the City of Warsaw and most recently was a member of the Warsaw Airport Planning Commission.

Mr. Schildberg was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nora Slead Schildberg, two sisters, Rovilla Schildberg and Dolores Bellamy, one brother, LaVerne Schildberg and one grandson, Michael William Schildberg.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Schildberg, of the home, one son, William Dulaney Schildberg and wife, Peggy, of Grandview, Missouri, one granddaughter, Kristen Ann Brown and husband, Darby and one great-granddaughter, Piper Evelyn Brown, all of Parker, CO; and one brother, Lynn Schildberg, Buena Park, California.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 5, 2004, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Warsaw.

Graveside services will be at Riverside Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion Post #217 of Warsaw.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Benton County Hospice in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
